Zombies! (Open)

Emily:

I was quiet for a moment before responding with, "No one is going to stab you in the back here."

"You say that now..." I murmured before shaking my head. I clenched my hands on the table for a moment before forcing myself to relax while I held my chest.

Emily:

“I promise no one in our group will hurt you. We’re good people. We only want to help.” I assured him. “Do you need more meds for the pain?”

I shook my head. "No. I'm fine.". I pulled off my cap and ran a hand through my hair before tugging it back on.

Kate:

I listened to them talk while I wiped out a few bowls and mixed together canned goods in a big bowl and seasoned it the best I could to make it taste as normal as possible. “Tuna salad for dinner.” I told the two at the table. It was a very loose description of what I had mixed up.

Ari:

I nodded, shifting uncomfortably and not just from my ribs. People were making my food? That was...new.

Kate:

I handed Elijah over to Emily. “Mind keeping an eye on him?” I asked “I’m going to check on the boys.”

Ari:

I eyed the child for a moment before dropping my gaze. Children made me nervous, they reminded me of the desert and the woman who were raised just to be baby makers and to take care of the home.

Emily:

I held Elijah in my lap, he leaned his head into my chest and peered sideways at Ari with bright hazel eyes. From the hall I heard Kate tell the boys, “I put together a concoction for dinner. It vaguely resembles tuna salad, in that one minor ingredient is canned tuna…”

I gave a soft chuckle at Kate's voice before I grimaced and clutched at my ribs. Laughing was out of the question at the moment it seemed.

Everett:

I walked carefully down the hallway, my ears straining for the slightest sounds. My rifle was slung across my back, useless in the cramped confines of the apartment building we had decided to scavenge from. It was only one story, long instead of tall, and with Kate and Aiden making sure the front was secure I had left to check down the mainhallway.

Ari:

I sighed and carefully bent forward to try and touch my toes. I didn't even make it halfway before I let out a hissing breath and straightened holding onto my ribs. "Damn it..." I cursed in a whisper. I shook my head and moved into the kitchen where I had been making fresh bandages for my ribs. I lifted my shirt up to just below my ribs, looking down at my flat stomach. I had my back to the door, a part of a tattoo exposed from where my shirt rode up in the back.

Lily:
I could hear people rummaging around the building and was petrified for a moment. It had been weeks since the last time people came through, possibly months. But they had all died quickly. I made sure of it. I slide my gun off my back and hide behind the couch. Readying myself for unfriendly people. I had, had my fair share of those already. Especially some of the guys that stumbled upon me. Hopefuly they wouldn't check in here. But door was open and it was to late to close it.

Kate:

I killed the couple of zombies out front so it would be clear when we loaded up the car. That was if more didn’t come and we actually found supplies worth transporting. Aided helped me chain the doors shut and I followed after Everett holding my knife ready in my hand.

I paused outside a room, a frown coming to my lips. I turned my pistol inside and I stepped carefully over the ground. "Is someone there?" I wasn't sure if I had heard something or if it was just my gut acting up.

Well this was a suprise, this person was actually armed. 'Don't take another step or i'll shoot.' I said just loud enough for him to hear me. 'What do you want? If your looking for supplies I'm out.' I said lying hopefully the people he was with hadn't raided the rest of the building yet.

Kate:

I rounded the corner of the hallway and stopped when I saw Everett paused outside a door. The hairs rose on the back of my neck as I sensed danger. My instinct was to switch my knife to my left hand and take hold of my hand gun in my right. I couldn’t tell what was wrong exactly, but I would be prepared, and I would monitor both men with me until the threat became known.

I slowly eased back on the hammer of the pistol. "I mean you no harm. I don't want your supplies if they are yours. But I won't move from this spot. I can't lower the weapon however, my friends and I need to stay safe." I kept my gun aimed at the floor as I searched the room with eyes alone. "My name is Everett. I am a soldier in the U.S. Army. I am a medic. If you are hurt I can help you. We mean you no harm."

I snorted 'and i was a surgeon before all this went to hell.' I sighed and stood wincing as pain shot up my leg from my last tumble with a group of people keeping my gun pointed at him ' you mean you were a soilder in the us army. The US doesn't exist anymore.'

Kate:

I stayed in the intersection of the two hallways were I could keep my eyes on both Aiden, scouting out the front area, and Everett down the other, darker hallway. It bothered me that he didn't move away from the doorway, but I wouldn't lose sight of Aiden to check, if he was in trouble, surely he would signal. I moved so my back was to the corner wall.

I frowned at her words. "No...the US is still here...we just...have to go back." I blinked a few times and felt a trickle of sweat run down my spine. But I pushed it out of my mind. "But always a soldier ma'am." My eyes roamed her for a moment. "Is your leg alright? I was a medic among other things in the Army."

I slide the safety back on and put it down using it as a crutch, moving around the couch closer to the door. 'The last 'soilder' to come through here lost his shit one night. He killed two people before i could stop him.' I look down at my leg. ' I didn't realize he would throw him self towards me. It's was just a simple fracture. It's almost healed all the way.'
