Zombies! (Open)

Kate:

I groaned softly when Aiden stepped through the office door and out of my line of sight. A thunking sound behind me made me whirl around to face it. It was coming from a door that had been had been torn through in parts. The zombie on the other side spotted me and tried with more vigor to get through the shreds of particle board that were all that was left of the door. It was making a ruckus that would draw others if I didn’t take care of it. Holstering my gun, I pushed back the door to let it open wide ready with my knife. It lunged at me quicker than I anticipated and my stab at its head missed the ear canal and sunk into the neck instead. I stumbled back as it took hold of me, grasping at my leather jacket and chewing on my sleeve. My heart was racing so fast and I didn’t stop to think before I snatched my gun up and shot up, into the throat, and through the brain.

I flinched and lifted my gun, whirling around to watch the end result of Kate's event. "You alright?" I asked, lowering my gun before cursing softly. The zombies would be coming. Soon. We needed to leave now.

I hobbled past him and looked down the hall. 'Shit. We need to leave now.' I said shaking my head and looked at the girl 'did it bite you?'

Kate:

Aiden was at my side gun ready and aimed at the motionless Zombie. I was breathing heavily as I turned to Everett, my eyes widened upon seeing the girl but I didn’t say anything other than, “No, I’m fine, I just lost my grip on the knife…” I snatched it back from the neck of the dead creature and wiped it on my jeans.

Aiden:

There was no time to question the other girl, she was a human, therefore we were all on the same side until we were to safety. “Let’s get out of here.” I said, tugging Kate’s arm and nodding to the other two.

I nodded once then turned to the girl. "Ma'am, we can make it out quicker if you let me assist you." A part of me wanted to be the one leading Kate. But now was not the time, nor the place to entertain such thoughts. So I let it go.

I lifted my gun and slide it onto my back and nodded at the guy standing next to me, everett. 'Did you guys grab the food from the kitchen? Any of the medical supplies that where in there?'

Aiden:

“I got a couple of the medical supplies in my bag before I heard the shot, I can go back for the rest while you three get to the car and have it ready, it won’t take long.” I answered her.

Kate:

I moved ahead to get to the front doors and peer out to see if any zombies had come up alerted by the sound. I felt ashamed that we had to flee the building because of me. It was my fault, I should had got it with my knife the first time…

I saw the look on the girls face 'it's not your fault. Their getting faster than they were before. ' i glanced down the hallway 'make sure you grab he antiseptic!!'

I put an arm around her shoulders to help take more of her weight. "Come on, I've got you."

Kate:

I didn’t like that Aiden was going off on his own, but I wasn’t about to Leave Everett out in the open with an injured girl without backup. I opened the front doors and took out two zombies immediately with my knife. “Get in the back with her, I’ll drive.” I told him running around the other side to start the suburban.

I nod and lean on him as we leave the building to the car. I wince as a take a step. 'Please don't lose your shit ok? My body can't handle another confrontation yet' i say trying to joke with him

I cracked a small smile. "Nothing I have seen yet is worse than what I saw overseas. But I appreciate the concern."

I smile back 'that's what my dad used to say.' I pull open the back door and carefully slide into the back seat. 'My names Lilly by the way, Lilly Rose.' I grimace at my name. 'My parents couldn't settle on a flower.' I say rolling my eyes. I glance around the car i slide my gun around and roll down the window. And get into a good position.

Kate:

Once they were both in the car I drove it up to the front and waited for Aiden to get back, or a shout of alarm for help. I was nervous and wasn’t paying much attention to the two in back.

I scanned the area and noticed some coming down the road, 'I'm going to fire but someone needs to go get him now. There will be more. Coming.' I aimed for the heads and fired 'hurry'

"Everett Rhoades ma'am." I replied before grimacing. I hated the sound of fire. "I'll get him."

Kate:

"Be safe." I told Everett before he left. I kept my hand on my gun, I wasn't going to trust this girl yet. I had been lucky so far with people, but sooner or later I would meet a rotten one.

I glanced back at Everett 'sorry' I mummbled as he left for the other guy. I glanced up 'what's your name?'

I smiled warmly at Kate, "I always am." I nodded my head once to Everett before running on light feet towards Aiden had been.

Kate:

"It's Kathrine... Kate mostly." I answered, looking at hear through the rear-view mirror.

Lilly
'Where are you guys coming from?' I ask still scanning the area

Kate

"We found a house in the city, we're camped out there." I answered simply, not giving away that we had more people there. "What about you?"

I shrug, 'i've been here for what feels like forever. I used to live in this building' i glance at the building and sigh. 'I was working at the hospital when the outbreak started. Which was not the place to be when it started.'

Kate:

“I can imagine.” I kept my eyes on the entryway for Aiden and Everett. When the outbreak fully hit, I was on the road with Elijah fully packed and heading out my grandparents’ house. I never had to escape like a lot of people did.

Aiden:

I was just finishing loading the medical supplies when Everett came to get me. “The other two are okay?” I asked slinging my bag over my shoulder.
