Body Guard

Julie: 
I finished making my food and followed him to couch, shoving a bite in my mouth as I went. "Do you want some?" I asked with a mouthful of food.

I blinked at her then shook my head. "I had two rice bowls. If I'm going to have something I'd want dessert or fruit. Just something sweet." Shifting to make room for her I let out a contented sigh. "So. Plans for tomorrow? If I remember right some of your friends were going to go out. Maybe they can go shopping too."

Julie:
I stopped chewing when he mentioned going out tomorrow and shook my head. I tried to swallow and then put my plate down. "I don't want to go out tomorrow," I shrugged like it was no big deal. 

The thought of going out and leaving the grounds made my stomach turn. Now that I knew the danger that I was in and the danger that I put Cody in, I didn't want to leave for something stupid, like shopping.

I looked at her for a long moment. "Alright. Would you want to invite them here then?" I had an inkling of why she made that choice. This wasn't something I could persuade her out of either. She would need time to get comfortable with the idea of going out again. But at the same time I knew that it would be better for her if she had a chance to be with people.

Julie:
I tried to smirk at him but it was a little forced. "Why? So you can stare at Heather all night?" I asked, getting up to get rid of my plate. I had taken about two bites, plus all the lunch meat I had crammed into my mouth before making the sandwich.

"Ha. No. Because you shouldn't just sit alone after this morning. Tonight I won't be going back to my room. I'll stay here. And before you complain this is just standard procedure. What little there is." Trailing her with my gaze as she put her food down a brief frown crossed my face.

Julie: 
I rolled my eyes and threw out the sandwich and went back to the couch. "Why would I complain? You're the one who insists on leaving every night and coming back at the crack of dawn. That guest room is practically yours anyway, I dont know why you doing use it," I said, ignoring the first half of what he said.

"Because when you have friends over their are like a half dozen of you! Not enough room for me to stay at that point. And then beyond that because you deserve some semblance of privacy. The entire wing is yours. Plus..." I had been about to say that it would be too weird staying so close to her. When we were kids we'd shared the same bed. After puberty neither of us could do that anymore. And when I really had to start being her guard that changed things even further. But not of that came out. Instead I waved a hand to dispel the word. "Everything that's inside is stuff you've stolen from me."

Julie: 
"I didn't steal it! You left it here!" I argued. Just because I sometimes wore the things he left here, doesnt mean I stole it. "And I dont need that much privacy. Its not like we're sharing a room, its a whole wing. Plenty big for the two of us if you wanted." I shrugged. "But if you want privacy, thats fine,".

I couldn't really counter-argue. There was a very real chance that I had left it here. Forgotten after changing for some other event of some sort. Still the idea of moving into one of the rooms was appealing. I'd get a bigger bathroom, more space, and a more comfortable bed. The employee rooms weren't bad by any means. But they were simple and plain. "We'll see. But you avoided the question you know."

Julie:
I sighed and slumped onto the couch. I had been hoping I distracted him from the questions. "I dont want anyone to come over tomorrow and I don't wanna go out and dont wanna go my dads speech even though I already promised I would and I don't wanna leave my room at al," I told him, frowning.

Shaking my head I reached over and patted her shoulder. "Then we can hang out here if that's what you want. It's alright Jules. What would you want to do then?"

Julie:
"I dont know," I shrugged. "I was thinking, maybe you could teach me some more self defense stuff...like you did before?" I asked.

"Teach you self defense?" I tucked my chin to my chest while folding my arms. I remained like that for several long moments as I considered it. "I don't know why you haven't been taught anything before. I'm not the best teacher but I can do what I can for now until I can find a proper teacher."

Julie:
"Wait really?" I asked, a big smile on my face. I had been almost certain that he would say no. I sat up a little on the couch and turned to face him. "You'll teach me how to fight someone and like, use a gun and stuff?" I clarified.

"I am not going to teach you to fight. I am going to teach you to defend yourself. As for the gun thing...maybe. You'll have to ask your father about that one. I'm not going to teach you to shoot a gun." Turning to look at her I focused on her eyes with a serious expression.

Julie:
My shoulders slumped. "If dad knows, hes not gonna let me do any of it;" i complained. "Come on, Ill be a really good student and i'll listen to everythinng you say..." i tried to convince him. "I should know how to use at least some of the stuff in the armory."

"The stuff in the armory isn't for recreational use. It's there for protection." Running my fingers through my hair I sighed. "If you explain why you want to do this...then maybe."

Julie:
"I know its not a game," i said. I bit my lip and looked away. "I just think I should know some basic things incase something happens," I said. "If you get hurt, I dont wanna just stand there like an idiot, I wanna be able to do something to help," I said.

Her reasons made sense. I couldn't deny her that much at least. "Alright. We will work on it tomorrow. But I warn you, I'm going to be making you work hard. Because I know someone." I nudged her shoulder, "Who hasn't been doing much exercise."

Julie:
I smiled a little and shook my head. "I exercise!" I defended. "I just don't punch a bag for three hours a day," I said. But I knew he was probably right. If I was going to be doing even a fraction of what he was capable of, I was gonna bu in for a wild ride. "And you can't tell my dad," I said, pointing at him.

"Heh. We'll see in the morning. I'm not going to teach you anything tonight. It's late and I need time to decide how I want to go about this." Sighing softly I shot her a wry look, "You never make life easy I hope you know. But at least it's never boring."

Julie:
I smiled at him sweetly. "You deserve a raise." I told him, poking him in the side. "I'm gonna go put some PJ's on. You know where yours are," I said, getting off the couch.

"Ha. I'm paid minimum wage technically. But room and board are paid for. If I wanted to persue education that would be paid for. All medical bills, dental, eye, and even car insurance if I get my own car. Plus as I am a special case I have an account I can draw from in case I need anything for work." I smirked, "I've been saving everything since I was little. Honestly the only things I have are either bought for me or are work related."

Julie:
I smirked as I walked to my room. "Oh, you're a special case alright," I told him, looking at him from over my shoulder. "Very special, indeed," I added before walking into my room and closing the door. I quickly stripped down to nothing and pulled on a t-shirt and some old sweatpants that im nearly certain were Cody's at one point. They'd never fit him now, so I didn't feel bad about it.
