A Personal War (closed)

I yawned and laid back staring up into the canopy of trees and resisted humming to myself to not be seen but I couldn't help it and started humming softl to myself.

i made my way back to her. clothes and an extra tent packed "i thought being quiet was part of the plan"

"I was being quiet- wasn't I?" I asked and sat up looking at him.

"humming isn't entirely quiet" i said and dropped her a pair of pants and an older shirt that was to small for me

"Well I'm sorry if my quiet is different from your quiet..." I said and sighed. "Pants? No skirts?" I asked and arched an eyebrow.

"it's military wear. where would i have gotten a skirt?"

I rolled my eyes and stood up. "We're next to my property, I'll get my own clothes from my room then. I have the prefect dress because it's simple."

"it'd be easier to travel in pants"

"But I hate pants..." I whined a little. "Must I?" I asked and frowned a little.

i nodded "get your dress though, you'll need something for when we get there"

"Good, you're being reasonable now." I smiled and pecked his cheek, running towards my house and thankfully slipping through the already opened door. I ran up the stairs two at a time and bolted for my door, shutting it quietly behind me and sighing in relief, leaning against it.

i climbed into a tree and pulled out the rifle i had snatched along with the clothes

I walked towards my closet and took out a laundry bag from my trunk and began to fold some dresses and nightgown along with riding clothes and practically shoving them into the bag. Grabbing my light blue travel gown from my closet and yanking my lip off and slipping into it, getting the matching shoes and scrubbing my face quickly, and brushing my hair, adding it to he bag. I was just standing in front of my mirror, placing my bonnet on and the door opened- revealing my father. "Abby?" he asked in shock and I froze. "Father?" I asked and turned around. "Where is he?" he demanded and I shook my head. "No where." I lied and bit my lip.

something didn't feel right, it was taking too long and the sky was darkening..... worry grew like a tree on steroids in my chest

"Abigail, tell me right now. You went riding hours ago- and the captain said he couldn't find that boy anywhere..." he said and I shook my head. "He's no where Daddy." I lied again and he grabbed me by my arm. "Let go Daddy..." I said and he snatched my bag. "You're running away again?" he said and tossed it out the window. "Fine! Go ahead- run away with that soldier! Forget about your dowry, and everything!" he yelled in my face and brought me out of my room and downstairs, practically tossing me outside. "I never want to see you on this property again."

i leaned against the wall and groaned silently. I had decided against better nature and gone back to the house and just in time to hear the shouting. I stood and pushed myself around the corner. "I'm here sir. I'm sorry to worry you so much but... we got caught up in a bit of crossfire..."

"Like I can believe that when she's wearing her travel clothes and has a laundry bag full of others!" he snapped and let go of my arm. "Just go- both of you. I no longer call you my daughter let alone family in general." he said and I shook my head. "Please don't do this..." I begged and he kept a straight face, but I knew he was trying not to crack. "Please..."

i clenched my teeth and resisted from grabbing the gun on my back

"Father please!" I begged and he just shook his head, turning away from me and I touched his shoulder, only to have him shrug it off. I reached for him again and he just turned around, striking me in the face. "Get off my land. Both of you." he said and I shook my head. "Fine then, I guess I'm not your daughter." I said and tried to hold myself together and took my bag, walking off the property.

"it's hard to believe I looked up to you as a boy" i growled following his daughter "I'm done with your land, good luck bringing it back"

He looked back once and locked eyes with him for a moment before walking into the house and slamming the door shut as I started to walked down the apth, trying to get back to where I left my horse- if she was still even there... I bit my lip and held by breath, trying not to cry right now- I couldn't. I had bigger things than just losing my family, my dowry, my life.

i sighed and followed her quietly thinking as i went

"I can't believe he threw me out. No- wait I can. I'm with a soldier, something he tried to keep me from but no. I was too much of a rebel, too mch of a hazard to his life!" I muttered and threw my hands in the air. I thankfully found out horses still tied to the branch and I took the reins and climbed on, hooking the back to the sadle horn. "I'm getting out of here Nik."

"im going with you of course" i said

"You sure you want to? Even though I'm a complete wreck- with nothing." I said and took a shakey breath.
