A Personal War (closed)

"Oh I'm sorry, I must've been boring then, just laying here sleeping." I said and rolled my eyes.

i shook my head "not at all, it was peaceful"

"I've almost forgotten waht peaceful is...." I said quietly.

i nodded and continued to lay there with her in just her shift and me without my shirt or boots. it was nice and in the tent it felt like our own world

I looked at him and traced his chest absently with my fingers, a tiny smile apprearing on my face. "Too bad you weren't this muscular when we were kids..." I chuckled a little.

"oh? and why is that?" i asked softly

"Because, we probably could've gotten that tree house done...." I laughed quietly, not wanting to disturb the silence too much.

"oh? and what'd we do in there?"

"Well, I can't answer that. You never finished building it!" I laughed a little louder than before. "I never had time to imagine what adventures we's probably have in there of princes and theives, make believe war... Even though we're living that one right now..."

i nodded and drapped my arm over her waist

I rubbed his arms and closed ym eyes, leaning my forehead on his. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up..."

"Dont be. it's the truth even if we're running from it" i said softly

"I feel like a coward running from it...." I admitted and bit my lip. "I don't like that feeling."

"i feel smarter" i whispered "at least i know i'll survive"

"At least you can be positive about this..." I sighed.

"What's postive about it? about know that while your neighbors and friends die you'll remain living to mourn them?"

"No, not that." I said and looked at him. "That you know you'll survive, defeat all odds thrown at you for a justified cause." I explained, smiling a tiny bit.

i smiled " yea thats true"

I chuckled and sat up, digging through my bag and getting my brush out, running it through my hair. "Alright. I'm going to go try and wash up in the river. Don't watch..." I wagged a finger at him.

i laughed "darn, i really wanted to"

"Well don't." I chuckled and kissed him gently.

i smiled "fine, i wont"

"Alright. I'm keeping you to your word." I smiled back and pecked his lips, climbing out and finally stretching.

i sighed and layed back with a smile

i went to the rive and washed up, changing into a the same dress, only having packed three and not knowing how long it would take to get there... I just wore it again, keeping the others clean. "I'm back..." I called, trudging through the woods again.
