Boarding School for the Mythical

Tabitha:

“Yeah. Well good night.” I said with a half wave as I went back to my door. “And it was nice meeting you.” I shut the door then crawled into bed next to shade falling asleep quickly.

Sphinx:

Sleep wasn't something that I needed a lot of, and so I didn't bother to sleep that night. I just stayed meditating all night long.

In the morning Shade wiggled out of his girl’s arms, she tended to hold him at night like one would a teddy bear, he allowed her because she didn’t squeeze too tightly. He hopped up onto the windowsill and peered out over the school grounds. His pet didn’t have school until the next day, he had seen her scribbles in her notebook, but she did have things planned for today. With a glance at the clock he realized she was going to be late if she didn’t get up now, which was the norm for her. He jumped down onto the small of her back and licked her chin that was just barely peeking out from under her pillow.

Sphinx

I went back to my room and changed clothes before putting on a different hoodie, one that i lfet unzipped before making myself a large breakfast and going out to the park to eat.

Tabitha:

I groaned but felt another lick and a cold little nose sneak under the pillow pressing against my cheek. I smiled and put my hand on his back slowly blinking my eyes open. I sat up after a moment and stretched with Shade in my lap. It felt nice to stretch, I hadn’t since my last dance class two weeks ago. “Oh no!” I hopped off the bed and scrambled to the closet yanking out clothes at random until I found my leotard and tights and leg warmers. After I pulled those on I shrugged a knit dress over. I grabbed gabbed my contact case and tried not to squint as I put them in. I snatched my bag up and rummaged in it for my car keys. “Shade! Help me!” I begged tearing the room apart while he watched me disapprovingly from the bed. I couldn’t have lost them that fast I had just got here yesterday and- “Oh no!” I groaned remembering that my brother was taking my car. He had explained that I wouldn’t really need it here. The buss would take me anywhere I needed to go I just had to get there on time. That prospect seemed ridicules now. I hurried out of the room and ran down the stairs because the elevator was taking too slow. I was halfway through the grounds when I realized Shade was running along at my feet. “Oh no, no, no. Shade!” I dropped down to my knees yanking him up. “You can’t come with me, and I don’t have time to take you back up to the room.”

Sphinx

I blinked and tossed my left overs in the garbage as i walked up to Tabitha. "You seem distressed. Whats wrong?" I asked looking at her in concern.

Tabitha:

I blinked slightly dazed by the sight of him. I smiled but couldn’t help think how terrible I probably looked right now, I had rushed out so fast I hadn’t even glanced in the mirror. “I’m late for my audition. And Shade followed me, and I can’t take him with me but I can’t just leave him running loose. He doesn’t know his way around the place.” I explained quickly.

I nodded and motioned with my head for them to follow me. I headed to the parking lot and getting my keys out of my pocket i stopped in front of my motercycle. Ictook the helmet and offered itvout to her before picking up shade and zipping him up in my sweatshirt.

Tabitha:

I eyed the motorcycle but put the helmet on anyway despite my inhibitions. My only other option was walking any way. “My mama would kill me if she knew I was going to ride a motorcycle, especially with a boy, especially with a boy I’ve only just met.” I said gravely.

Sphinx

I flashed her a grin and climbed on starting it up. The engine purred to life. Quiet and like a cat. "You could wait fo me to go back tovmy room and get the keys to my car...but you seemed ina rush."

Tabitha:

“No, I am.” I said and climbed on after him somewhat awkwardly.

Shade poked his head out of the top of Sphinx’s sweater. He liked the way the boy smelled, like history. Shade looked up at him then at the machine curiously.

I adjusted her grip so she could hold on better to the bike, before wrapping her arms around me before starting off.

Tabitha:

I glued myself to him the minute he started driving.  A shrill sound escaped my lips.  I didn't like it, not at all, and my dress was riding up my legs gradually.  

I grunted softly and winced in pain when she held tighter onto me. I flexed my abs to help keep from hurting my stomach, beyond that there was little I could do.

Shade, seeing his pet incapacitated and clearly not paying attention, barked when he saw the studio.  He was almost sad the ride was over; he liked the feeling of facing the wind and watching things bur by.

I smiled and pulled over in front of the studio. "Well here you go. When I pick you up I'll remember to bring my car." I said flashing her a grin.

Tabitha:

I hopped off slightly dazed.  I pulled my dress down then took the helmet off handing it back to him as I shook my hair out.  "Thanks for bringing me.  Even if I did almost die from it." I said and half smiled and waved as I turned to head inside almost tripping over Shade as he dashed to my feet.  

Sphinx:

I chuckled and held my hands out for Shade. "Shade, get back here. Were going to go get into trouble and cause problems while we wait for her to finish." I said winking.

Tabitha:

I laughed and rolled my eyes flashing him a smiled before bending down to kiss Shade on the head. “Go on.” I nudged him with my foot then hurried inside before he could guilt me into wasting any more time.

Shade waited for her to go inside then dashed to the glass front of the building peering into the room waiting to see her. She came in a few seconds later with her dress off, her pink shoes on, and her hair twisted up. He just wanted to see her audition, he loved watching her dance. He flicked his tail absently.

Sphinx

I watched Shade for a moment before climbing off my bike and picking him up. I tucked him into my sweatshirt. I looked down at him before sneaking in so we could watch her audition. "We have to be quick and quiet alright? We need to go back for my car."

Shade perked up and watched her through the window.  She danced the piece perfectly, he was glad to see.  She was clumsy off the dance floor.  She finished and another group of dancers took her place and she was shuffled off into another room.  Shade looked up at Sphinx.  

Adella snuck out of her room, looking around.

I was outside saying hello to my friends, i let my hair hang down today, not really caring.
