Perfect Assassins

Krissy:

“Jack there isn’t even anything to touch!” I said a little in annoyance. I touched my belly without realizing it, even though I wasn’t showing yet.

"Doesn't matter. Those are the terms, I'll see you all in a few days." I said before hanging up with a chuckle.

Krissy:

I turned the phone off and set it on the table with a little scowl. I didn’t want anyone to know about it. The more who knew, the more likely it was that Kyle would find out, and I was dreading that.

Michael:

I hugged her from behind, whispering softly in her ear. "Jack won't tell a soul, lets go the three of us out to the mall. In the car, let him get his little fun, and it will be over. It's just been a dream of his, to rub a pregnant belly. But he felt it rude to do it to someone he didn't know personally. And tag your it. Plus think about it this way, make him owe you a huge favor for it, and you could get anything you wanted, as long as you held up your end of the deal."

Krissy:

“What I want is for no one to touch my belly.” I said dully. I stared down at my lap. “I’m not the right person for this… Why couldn’t Lexi have gotten knocked up instead, she’d be a better mother anyway.” I muttered.

"Hey now, you hush. If you really believed that, you would have already taken care of it. Now, come on, lets order, then I have yet to get a dance." I said kissing her neck gently before kissing her cheek. "And Krissy, I don't knock people up, I might knock them out, but what happened was a miracle, and just proves I am supposed to be with you."

Krissy:

I couldn’t help but smile slightly. I leaned my head back to look up at him. “Did you ever doubt that you were?” I asked softly.

"At times, usually when I am apart from you for too long. But then, I get close enough to touch your cheek, or look at you and everything is better in my world." I said before softly telling the waiter, patiently waiting to take our orders.

Ebony:

I had in my head what I wanted to order, but I was trapped. I couldn't say it, and I was being ignored by everyone when I tried to get their attention. With a silent sigh I got to my feet and left for the restroom.

Krissy:

I scanned over the menu quickly. “Eb, do you want to split-“ I took my eyes off the menu to look at her but she was gone. “Where’d she go?” I asked Eric who was staring at the table. “Dunno.” He muttered. I sighed and ordered something small.

Ebony:

Finishing at the bathroom I left, shaking my hands a bit to try to dry them. The bathroom had been out of papertowels, and the air drying thing never really got your hands dry.

Eric:

I watched Krissy from the corner of my eye. She didn’t seem to be acting abnormal, other than ignoring me. She kept touching the cut of her neck absently. I looked around the room for Ebony after a little while.

I stayed near the wall, close to the restrooms as I watched everyone in the place, and especially on the dance floor with an absent expression.

Eric:

My eyes were drawn back to Krissy when she spoke to me. “Go find her. You’re looking for her aren’t you? Well go find her.” She said. I sighed then pushed my chair back from the table. I left our room and went to the dance floor scanning over the heads. I spotted her by the opposite wall. I made my way through the people and stopped just off of the dance floor. I motioned for her to come to me.

Ebony:

I bit my lip a bit when I caught sight of Eric moving through the crowd. When he motioned me over I hesitated, not sure if I really wanted to go. He flirted with me, made me feel special, but then...he only had eyes for Krissy. I didn't know if I was ready for more of that.

Eric:

I sighed and went to her when I saw that she wasn’t coming to me right away. “What are you doing out here all on your own?” I asked looking here over. I held my hand out to her. “Come on, dance with me?”

I hesitated a moment before putting my hand in his. I still wasn't sure this was a good idea anymore, but what could I do? I didn't want to fight it, and dancing sounded fun.

Eric:

I tugged her along behind me to the dance floor then pulled her close, my other hand at the small of her back. "You know you really should t go off on your own. What if you ran into trouble? You can't exactly call for help.."

I shrugged a little, sighing softly. I looked up at him as I took one of his hands the other resting on his shoulder. I searched his face, wondering why he wanted to dance with me.

Eric:

I looked back into her eyes. “Why are you always looking at me like that?” I asked softly. It was more thinking out loud on my part, I knew she couldn’t answer.

I shrugged and brought my eyes down to his chest, wishing I could speak to just ask him. I hated not knowing if he was just playing me, but there was little I could do, and no way to ask.

Eric:

The song turned slow and I held her a little closer rocking her gently to the music. “I know you see me watching her.” I said after a little bit. “You know how it is with us. You saw..” I nodded to the scabbed over cut at my wrist. I sighed softly, getting quiet and looking over her head without really seeing anything.

I nodded slowly, not looking up as I kept my eyes on his shirt. There was only a few scant inches between my chest and his, my brain registered that, but I wanted to hear what he had to say.

Eric:

“It’s never going to happen. There is nothing I can do to change the way she feels toward me.” I continued slowly. It was easy to talk to her, someone who listened yet couldn’t judge, or even if she did she couldn’t say it. “She loves me, damn her. And that’s what makes it even more difficult. I can’t just let go.” I was barely dancing anymore, just swaying back and forth to the music.

I felt my eyes slowly fill with tears, though I didn't look at him, or let it show. How could I not feel like crying when by his words, he was saying we had no chance. While I didn't feel played as we had never started anything. I still didn't like his words.

Eric:

I blinked slowly and focused my eyes on Ebony. I let go of her hand to put mine under her chin to lift it up. I studied her face for a moment before my eyes paused on her lips and I bent to kiss them.
