Perfect Assassins

I couldn't help but feel my eyes widen as his lips met mine. I was too stunned to know what to do. One second he had been talking about the impossibility of it. The next he was kissing me. And to add to it all, I had never been kissed. What was I to do? How does one kiss?

Eric:

I moved my hand down to her lower back to pull her body against mine snuggly as I kissed her. My eyes opened slightly to watch her. She was like any other girl. I felt next to nothing. There was mild desire, but beyond that not much. She was sweet. She was easy. She was forgettable.

Krissy:

The food came. I had ordered something for Ebony seeing as she hadn’t been there, and I didn’t want her to have to wait longer for her food to come. If she wanted something different then she could order it herself. I turned in my seat to look for her and Eric. My eyes scanned it quickly before spotting them. My stomach sank. I couldn’t tell what emotion twisted it. Not Jealousy. I couldn’t be jealous. I had been jealous of Ebony before, but not for that kind of reason. I just didn’t like seeing Eric kissing her. Maybe because I had a feeling he was doing it to make me jealous… But it wasn’t working…

I pulled back out of the kiss after he pulled me against him. My face showed nothing but confusion as I searched his eyes. My own narrowing almost imperceptibly as I caught that his face held nothing. I looked down at his chest against mine and ran a hand over it for a moment as I considered my next move.

Eric:

I watched her. “What? Do you not want me to kiss you?” I asked a little taken aback. I hadn’t expected her to pull away. I expected her to do pretty much whatever I wanted.

I looked up into his eyes, and they became accusatory. I wasn't about to just roll over and do what ever he wanted with me.

Eric:

I looked her over appraisingly. Maybe she wasn’t so easy. A challenge then. I was up for that. It might be a fun distraction. I let her go completely then lifted my hand up, letting it trail like a feather under her neck before lifting her chin very gently. “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to take advantage of you.” I said smoothly and seemingly sincerely. I let my hand drop to hover close to hers, offering it out to her. “Shall we go back to the others?” I asked, my tone less intimate now and more formal.

James
I watch the others quietly, making sure nothing was happening that would cause a fight. Last thing we needed right now, really.

I couldn't help the shiver and the biting of my lip at the motion of his hand on my neck. I pushed it aside as fast as I could though, giving him a look that I didn't buy into his words about not meaning to take advantage. Especially with how surprised he had been when I had denied him. I did take his hand though, to be led back to the table.

Eric:

I trailed her along back to our table. My eyes went to Krissy who I was pleased to see was already watching me. Her expression cool and her eyes narrowed at me. I pulled Ebony’s chair out next to Krissy’s and let her sit down. Knowing her back was to me I gave Krissy a smirk before taking my seat on the other side of Ebony.

Krissy:

I wished Eric and I had been alone because I would have hit him. And I would have liked it. He was deliberately playing with us now. Both of us. I could see it. There was no way he’d be happy with Ebony, and he would only make her miserable. I leaned back to watch him around Ebony. He was ignoring me, but he had to know I was watching. I wasn’t exactly tactful about it.

Ebony:

I sighed and glancing to my left and my right, I ran a hand down my face. First leaning over to Eric to hit him on the back of the head. Then towards Krissy to do the same. I felt caught in the middle of divorced parents.

Krissy:

Eric closed his eyes and rubbed his head before going back to eating, shrugging it off. I put a hand to the back of my head and stared at Ebony indignantly. “Ow.” I said dolefully.

Ebony:

I grabbed the pad, jotting down a quick note. 'I'm a big girl, you had your chance to say something. Not only that but you never said I shouldn't. I want happiness like what you, Kyle, Lexi, and Michael have. Find me an alternative if you hate this so much.'

Krissy:

I scowled down at my plate unsure what to say or do at this point.

Eric:

I watched them out of the corner of my eye, trying to see what Ebony had written. Something about me surely.

I ripped out the page and tore it to pieces absently, knowing I had upset Krissy. But I was tired of having my emotions played with. Eric was trying to do it. Krissy was trying to do it. I wanted to be happy, not controlled.

Krissy:

I scratched my neck absently while picking at my plate of food. I didn’t have much of an appetite. The was a tap on my shoulder. I knew it instantly and was familiar with it. I looked up to see, as expected, Lexi standing by my shoulder. “Come to the bathroom with me.” She said nodding over her shoulder. I started to protest gesturing to my food but was dragged out of my chair and off to the bathroom by my best friend.

Ebony:

I watched them go before glancing at Michael. He gave me a small smile, before turning back to his own meal. I glanced at my plate, giving a small shrug before starting to eat.

Eric:

When the girls came back from the bathroom I glanced up to see the red head taking Krissy’s seat. “Aw hell. What are you doing down here?” I leaned forward to glare at her. She gave me a dirty look and flipped me off before starting in on Krissy’s food. I sat back sulkily and looked around for Krissy who was now sitting down with her brother. My eyes stayed fixed on her. Though I couldn’t hear what they were saying something seemed off. Krissy looked suspicious and worried while Kyle just looked annoyed, which was normal for him, but he seemed kind of.. subdued, if that were possible attitude for him.

Ebony:

I rubbed my temples for a moment, not entirely excited about what was going on around me. I felt like I was being dragged around still, and I couldn't do anything about it! I had no choice but to accept what was going on, because no one told me anything and everyone wanted to tell me what to do or what to feel.

Krissy:

Lexi had said Kyle was being quiet an irritable. She wanted me to talk to him, she thought she had done something to upset him despite him telling her nothing was wrong. He was acting odd, I had to agree. First off, Kyle, who usually could eat endlessly, was barely touching his food. And he was being quiet, if a little irritated. I sat beside him and watched him while he slowly took small bites to make it look like he was eating. I glanced over at Eric who was watching me. He gave me a questioning look to which a frowned and shook my head in answer. I scratched my neck boredly.

Michael:

I glanced at my beloved for a moment before letting my eyes sweep the rest of our party. I had been all but ignored by the others, which I supposed was fine. Kyle didn't like me, Eric didn't like me. Ebony didn't remember our past together. I had no idea what was up with Lexi though.

Krissy:

After everyone had finished dinner I went over to Lexi, and leaned close to her. I noticed she had finished my food, which was just as well because I hadn’t been hungry. “I think we should go home.” I told her softly, my eyes watching my brother. She nodded in concern. I straightened up with my hands on the back of her chair.

Ebony:

I had laid my head down on the table, my eyes closed as I tried to rest and relax from all that had happened during the day.

Krissy:

I knelt down next to Ebony’s chair. “Are you okay to go back with Eric?” I asked her. She and Eric had come here together, and Kyle, Lexi, Michael, and I had all driven together. Eric glared at me.

Eric:

“I can hear you. Of course she’s fine to come with me. Not like I’m going to hurt her or kidnap her away. Besides I’ve spent more time around her than any of you lately.” I hissed. Both Krissy and Lexi glared at me. “So,” Krissy continued. “You can come back with us if you want.”
