Perfect Assassins

Ebony:

I sighed in frustration, their arguing getting too much. I got up suddenly, upturning my chair before just walking away towards the door.

Krissy:

“Eric look what you did!” I said before hopping to my feet to go after her. I was pulled back by a hand at my wrist. “Stop it. You’re the one who had to go asking redicules questions. She was fine before that. Of course she was fine going back with me. You should have left it alone.” He hissed before forcing me down into the chair her left.

Eric:

I went after Ebony knowing Krissy was glaring daggers at me. I caught up to her. “Wait up!” I called to her before falling into step next to her. “You don’t mind going back with me do you? You can even drive if you want.” I jingled the keys.

I looked up at him tiredly, looking ahead as I walked right past his car, continuing on past even Krissy's car.

Eric:

I stopped at Krissy’s car and watched her. “Where are you going then? Just going to run away from us? Not knowing who you are, or what you can do, or what others might do to you.” I called after her.

I stopped walking, my shoulders slumping as I knew he was right. But I couldn't take all the tension, and just being nothing more than a pawn. I wanted to be treated like an actual person.

Eric:

“Come back Ebony. Tell me what you want.” I said, leaning against the car.”

I didn't move, hugging myself, as I struggled with what I should do. I didn't know who I was, I didn't know anything about myself. Going back would give me people who did care about me...but wanted to control everything I did. Leaving, would leave me with nothing, but would grant me freedom. Neither choice was ideal.

Eric:

I walked up to her slowly and put a hand on her shoulder. “Come back to my car with me? Tell me what’s wrong.” I said softly.

Ebony:

I continued to fight internally, struggling to choose between the only two options I had.

Eric:

“Come sit in my car. We can talk about what’s bothering you. I won’t force you to do anything. If you want to leave you can. Promise.” I used my soothing tone. The one I used when I was tending to the wounded. Usually right before I wounded them further.

I bit my lip, feeling ever more uncertain about my choice. He was removing my freedom, but I also didn't do want to be alone.

Eric:

“Ebony.” I said softly, gliding my hand on her shoulder down her arm slowly.

I was watching ebony and Eric through the windo near us. I frown a little and look over at krissy, "should one of us go say something?" I ask her with a raised eyebrow. I didn't know what he was trying to do other than getting her to ride back with him. But I never trusted the guy anyway.

Krissy:

I scowled out the window at the two of them. “I don’t know. I don’t want to overwhelm her, she’s very delicate right now, what with not knowing who she is.” I said ruefully. I tried to help her, tried to talk to her... She just didn’t seem to take it well. How was it that Eric was the one out there, talking to her, comforting her, and not me?

"I don't trust the guy." I say looking out the window as well. "He always seemed shady to me, Not sure why He is still here to be honest." I say returning to my half eaten food I was nibbling at.

I looked up at him, still unsure, though looking at him might have been a mistake. It pushed me towards a decision, and I had to look away for a second to re-orient my thoughts.

Krissy:

My scowl deepened at that. “He’s just as shady as you are, as any of us are given our profession. And he’s here because he’s my friend.” I snapped, crossing my arms.

Eric:

“Would you rather me leave you then? Here, to puzzle it all out on your own?” I asked.

Michael:

I stepped up to join them watching Ebony. "Hm, she is making a touch choice right now. Freedom, or being around people who know who she is. That isn't a choice I would want to make actually." I sipped at my drink before shrugging a bit.

Krissy:

My scowl disappeared when I looked at Michael but I frowned again. “She has freedom with us. It’s not like we’re locking her in her room and controlling everything she does.. It’s just she’s vulnerable and she needs help.”

"We aren't controlling everything she does? I don't remember any of us asking her if she wanted to come to this. Even you have to admit darling, that we don't give her many choices. Your pretty stubborn about getting your way. And if you disagree with that. What about your brother, or Lexi?" I gave a small shrug. "She is innocent now, but we drag her through and into our world. A world on the run, where we are in danger of being attacked and killed no mater what we really want. And she has no choice but to obey and follow us if she stays. If she goes she is free to do anything she wants. Be her self. But...if she leaves she loses the only chance she has to know who she really was. That is what she is fighting to decide."

Krissy:

I looked back to Ebony and Eric through the window. “Then what should we do? When you say it like that it seems like the best thing would be to let her go. So she has a chance to start fresh…” I said softly. I swallowed the lump that seemed to be forming in my throat. I didn’t like goodbyes, and I didn’t like people I loved not being with me.

"She is still Ebony, have you put a wrench in her hand yet?" I asked leaning over to kiss Krissy's cheek. "And, as a note, I'm sure it doesn't help her at all that she is trapped between you and Eric. You know Eric better than I do. You never told her to stay away from him, but you also have never told her it was okay. And who else has shown as much of an interest in who she is, and her wants than Eric? If I was in her place I would be doing the same thing." I sighed softly. "She doesn't even know of Seth."

Krissy:

“Isn’t that better? If I had loved someone in the past and they died, I wouldn’t want to know now.” I said with a little shrug. I sighed. I missed Ebony, the one I had known. She was different now. She had always seemed vulnerable, like someone who needed to be protected, yet at the same time she gave the impression that she would cut down anyone who messed with her.

I glanced outside once more, wincing. "Um, you might want to call Eric off before he gets hurt." I remarked, with a small tilt of my head. I could see the way Ebony stood, how her hands were laid.

Krissy:

I looked up at Michael confused by what he meant. “Let him, arrogant ass, he could use a lesson or two.” I turned to see my brother coming to my other side. I clicked my tong in disapproval. Was I the only one who could stand Eric? It seemed so.. Besides maybe Ebony. “I thought we were leaving? Who cares which car Ebony rides in? Quit making a fuss about it and stick her in one. Then we can go.” Kyle said bluntly. I gave him a flat look before making my way over to the entrance.

Kyle:

I looked down as Lexi took my hand to follow after my sister. I let her lead me. I wasn’t going to admit it to her, or anyone else, but I was rather dizzy and my entire body seemed to be tired. I dismissed it of course and went on as I usually did.
