Michael:

"I did once...when Kyle first got hurt and I had to carry him inside...you had other things to worry about than me taking it." I told her softly, feeling guilt run through me.

Krissy:

I took in a deep breath and nodded slightly, leaning against his shoulder. “Is that all?” I asked.

I nodded. "Yes, though I nearly took some while staying up to make sure you were okay." I admitted, tracing her cheek gently.

Krissy:

I sighed softly. “I’m sorry I made you worry like that.. But please don’t take it again. Not unless your life depends on it.” I reached up to touch his cheek.

Michael:

"I promise not to take it unless it matters for either of our lives." I promised her.

Krissy:

“Thank you.” I said softly before leaning up to kiss him gently. “Let’s go to sleep.”

I nodded, keeping my lips to hers as I closed my eyes.

Kyle:

I left Lexi sleeping curled up on the bed to go to the kitchen. I wasn’t tired, not remotely, but I was starved. I scavenged a few left overs from the fridge and heated them up on the same plate.

Michael:

I managed to extract myself from the sleeping Krissy, and slip on a shirt and pants before padding barefoot to the kitchen. I paused when I saw Kyle, taking the time while he didn't notice me to observe him.

Kyle:

I leaned back in my chair having finished the contents of my plate. I was still hungry but I would have to make something if I wanted anything else. I stood up and poured myself a glass of juice. “Why are you watching me?” I asked without turning to look at him. I sipped my juice.

Michael:

I stepped inside and said softly. "Watching for signs." I said simply. "Do you mind?" I asked as I gestured to the chair across from him.

Kyle:

I shook my head and gestured for him to sit. “Signs of what exactly?” I asked. “What did you give me? Krissy didn’t say.”

Michael:

"Basically, watered down Soldier Syrum." I said simply. "Are you ready for the talk now? It should be sooner rather than later."

Kyle:

I shrugged. I had heard the name before but never knew what it was or what it did. “Might as well, while there is no one to interrupt.” I said. While I loved them dearly, there was no denying that both Krissy and Lexi demanded attention either consciously or subconsciously whenever they were in the room.

Michael:

"It is the stuff that destroyed Ebony's body, and Jack's mind. For the next day or so you probably wont feel sleepy, and will feel stronger than you ever have. Think Adrenaline, only much stronger." I told him a smile tugging at my lips. "Now, are you feeling hungry or thirsty? And I don't just mean food or water. Something deeper."

Kyle:

I raised an eyebrow. “You mean blood lust?” I asked as I sipped my juice again.

Michael:

"No, a craving, much as you would expect to feel should you get a habit for drugs." I said watching him carefully.

Kyle:

“I don’t take drugs.” I replied flatly. I sipped my juice setting the glass down ruefully when it was all gone. I stared at the table for a moment. “Am I going to be hooked on this? Addicted?” I asked, looking back to him. I had to admit I did feel the need for more, it wasn’t just wanting.

Michael:

"I don't know. The full strength might kill you. I really do not know what might happen. So do you feel a craving at all?" I asked, looking at him seriously.

Kyle:

“I won’t take it again.” I said stubbornly. What did it matter if I felt a craving? I didn’t have to tell him that.

Michael:

My eyes flashed dangerously for a moment and I got up slowly. "Come with me. There is something you need to see." I told him softly, though my voice held a note of some strong emotion.

Kyle:

I didn’t move from my chair. “Tell me what it is first.” I said with no inflection.

Michael:

"A friend of ours." I said motioning with my head for him to follow me. Before I left the kitchen though I filled a glass for of water and grabbed a straw, sticking it into the water.

Kyle:

I set my glass n the counter before following him grudgingly. How could Krissy stand his vagueness?
