Perfect Assassins

Ebony:

I wasn't sure what it was, but I felt like something snapped inside my head. My hands flashed out and in seconds Eric was on the ground, awake but unable to move. I backed away slowly, looking down in horror.

Krissy:

“Eric!” I shouted running up to them. I unceremoniously pushed Ebony to the side then knelt down next to my friend.

Kyle:

I chuckled. “See, that’s what I like about this one.” I nodded to Ebony. “You’re welcome to ride with us.” I told her, grinning down at Eric.

I fell over from the push, biting my lip hard before scrambling to my feet and just running. What had I done?

Michael:

I winced at the hits, even more at Kyle's words. With nothing more to do, I went after Ebony.

Krissy:

I had seen what Ebony could do a couple times before. And I had seen her fix it, so I did the same. Eric rolled over once he could move. “Son of a bitch.” He muttered. “What did you do to her?” I demanded frowning at him. “Nothing. I didn’t do a thing. She just snapped.” He groaned out.

Michael:

I caught up to Ebony when she finally stopped. A good distance away. She whirled around to glare at me, tears streaming down her face.

Kyle:

Lexi let go of my hand to go after Ebony as well. I didn’t like it. After seeing her disable Eric so easily. But they were sisters.. “Look what you did Blakely, chased the girl away.” I taunted. “Me? Chase her away? After what she did to me? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?” He shot back. “Shut up Eric.” Krissy hissed.

Michael:

I stared worldlessly at her, and then just held out my arms. She rushed into them, crying into my chest.

Krissy:

“Give me your keys.” I told Eric. He glared at my held out hand. “Give ‘em.” I demanded and he placed them in my hand reluctantly. I ran after Lexi, Michael and Eric. I stopped next to Michael with Ebony wound in his arms. I put a hand on her shoulder. “I’m sorry Eb.” I murmured.

I pulled away from Michael to look at Krissy, unsure of what it was I was supposed to do, or say.

Krissy:

I kissed her cheek gently. “It will be okay. Let’s just jet back to the house, alright?” I took her hand and squeezed it lightly then turned to Michael. “ I think she’s best with you right now, take her back?” I asked handing him Eric’s keys.

Ebony:

I nodded slowly, feeling dead inside. I had hurt the only guy who had shown an interest in me. Doing something...by all accounts was next to impossible.

Krissy:

I looked to Lexi. “I’m not riding in the same car as him.” She said stubbornly. I sighed and hugged her before running back to my brother and Eric.

Ebony:

I felt even worse. Why must everyone fight around me? Could people never be happy with one another? What was so awful about the world that people couldn't just be nice to one another?

Krissy:

I climbed into the passenger seat as Kyle and Eric both got into the car. My eyes stayed on Michael and Ebony and Lexi. I didn’t like being separated from them but hopefully it would help Ebony. Maybe being with her sister would calm her.

I got into the car with Michael ebony and Lexi. Sitting in the back silently

Ebony:

I sat in the back, my forehead leaning against the window, as I hugged my knees to my chest.

Eric:

I watched Krissy from the back seat, she was staring out the window. I finally realized she was watching the other car in the side mirror. She touched her neck absently.
The car accelerated quickly and jerked slightly. “Hey man, cool it.” I said my gaze darting to Kyle.

Krissy:

I twisted in my seat to look at my brother. “What was that?” I asked bewildered. “Sorry.” He said and shook his head as if to clear it. A couple minutes later the car swerved again. “Krissy.. I don’t think… I-“ He cut off and the car lurched forward gaining speed rapidly. “Krissy!” Eric shouted as Kyle’s hands fell away from the steering wheel and his head rolled back. I was frozen in place from shock for a moment before my mind clicked into action. The car veered into the oncoming lane of traffic. I slipped out of my seatbelt, jerked the wheel in the other direction, managed to get my leg around the center console, and knocked Kyle’s foot off the gas with my own before hitting the brakes. With all the sudden changes the car skidded and spun off the road bashing into the center median. I felt pressure on my arm right before impact.
I was slightly dazed from the jolt, but I was mostly unhurt, Eric grabbed my arm to keep me from bashing through the windshield it seemed. He let me go and I climbed in Kyle’s lap. “Kyle? Kyle!” I shouted but he was out cold. “Get my bag from the trunk, now!” I hissed at Eric who seemed just as stunned as I was. I unzipped Kyle’s jacket and slit his shirt open. What I saw sped my heart up more than the crash had. The diagonal cut across his chest was crusted with black and the skin around it was streaked with yellow and red lines.

Michael:

My eyes flashed in surprise and I pulled over to the side, sharply. Climbing out of the car in a rush, praying that Krissy wasn't hurt.

Krissy:

I touched the scab in horror. My knife was in my hand in a flash and I swallowed back bile. I put the tip of my knife along the cut. I gave a soft whimper and looked away, unable to watch even as my hands made the motion. I gouged the scab away with my knife fighting the urge to throw up. I choked when I looked at my work, my eyes were already swarmed with tears and hysteria was raising in me. I was usually so calm when I was doing something like this. Blood didn’t bother me, all sorts of gruesome wounds didn’t bother me. But the fact that this was my brother, I couldn’t stomach it.
“Krissy!” Eric hissed jerking open the door. I looked up and ripped my bag out of his hands. I dug in it for medical gauze. I folded it and taped it to his chest with bloody, sticky hands. The tears were streaming uncontrollably now. “Help me. Get him in the back seat. We have to get back to the house.” I chocked as I scrambled out of the car. Eric caught me. “The hospital-“ He started. I shook my head frantically. “No! These little hospitals, they aren’t equipped to treat this, not quick enough. Help me!”

Michael:

I slid to a halt next to Eric, a relieved sigh slipping out before stopping as I eyed Kyle's wound. "Eric, take the girls, including Krissy." I said looking at him. I turned to Krissy pulling my phone out of my pocket as I pulled her off of Kyle. I gave her a hug, hit the speed dial on my phone kissing her forehead before putting the phone in her hand then to her ear. "Tell Jack to come, he is close. I have seen what the house has. Kyle needs full medical attention. Jack has enough in his car to perform a full surgery." I let out a breath before pushing Krissy towards Eric, and kneeling down next to Kyle glancing over the bandage for a moment before reaching into my pocket to pull out a small case. I unzipped it, took out what looked like an eppipen, and hit it into my leg. A shudder running through my body before I zipped it closed once more and lifted Kyle out easily, setting him in the back. I climbed into the front, after glancing at the damage to the car.

Krissy:

I listened to the phone ring and Eric put and arm around my waist. Take the girls, Michael had said, including Krissy. My knife slid into my hand. “Don’t touch me.” I growled jerking back from Eric and slashing out as he tried to stop me. He dodged the knife, and I took advantage of the time to climb into the other side of the car next to my brother.

Michael:

I winced when Krissy climbed into the car. "Krissy, I will incapitate you if I have to, and what will happen to your brother if you can't help him?" I said softly, gritting my teeth. Her stubbornness, while cute usually, was an absolute pain when it came down to listening to anyone and what might be best, for everyone.

Krissy:

“You cannot tell me what to do. You can’t order me away from my brother. I’m staying with him. If you have an issue with that then you can get out, and I will drive.” While I was verging on hysteria, my voice managed to stay very calm and ice cold. “Unless you’re going to do that, then go, you’re wasting time.”

I gripped the wheel harder, gritting my teeth as my blood surged slightly. I slammed the door shut and through the vehicle in drive, going hard on the accelerator. My vision blurred for a moment before going into sharp clarity.

Krissy:

I took Kyle’s wrist and placed two fingers on it. I closed my eyes and counted. His pulse was sluggish, and his breathing was shallow. I was scared. Never had I seen Kyle in the bad a condition. Always he was the one who was keeping me and Lexi safe, he never got close enough to get hurt. And even when he had been hurt. He had always treated his own wounds. He didn’t show weakness. The way he was now, it was hard to wrap my mind around it. If it had been anyone else I might have been able to focus more. But at the moment all I was in a state of bone deep nausea and terror. We were supposed to counteract each other. When I was weak he was strong, when he lost his temper I was calm, when I was hurt he took care of it. Why wasn’t that happening now?”
