Perfect Assassins

Michael:

I moved to the other side of Jack, waving the glass in front of his face and nose. I saw him come to a little bit before he sank deeper into his oblivious state. I waited patiently though, waiting the minutes that it would take for him to come around again. He pulled out, his eyes focusing and losing their glazed look.

Lexi took her pills and smiled at Kyle. "I was really worried about you," she commented, kissing his nose gently.

Kyle:

I looked sideways at the floor. “I know baby. I’m sorry.” I said softly, holding her close.

Krissy:

I watched him worriedly glancing at Michael often. It was so hard to read him though, I couldn’t judge how bad Jack was doing.

Michael:

I pressed the straw to his lips and he sucked deeply, giving a happy sound.

Krissy:

I smiled softly, watching Jack. "Here, let me." I said as I took the glass from Michael.

I nodded, letting her take it. I inspected Jack while she was feeding him. "Hey Michael..." I heard him ask. I closed my eyes tightly at his tone, my face not visible to him but it would be to Krissy. "Yeah brother?" I responded softly. "Do you think I could have more? Of the stuff..." My face grew pained, before I let my face become expressionless as I turned to face him. "No, we are all out..." I lied softly. Jack's face fell and he nodded slowly, his face the face of childlike heartbreak.

Krissy:

I watched Michael wordlessly. My stomach tightened when he asked for more, I assumed soldier serum. I wanted to do something to help him, to make him better, but I didn't know what. I was better with visible wounds, not mental ones.

Michael:

Jack finished his oatmeal and then seemed to notice Krissy for the first time, "Oh hi! I would hug you but I am kind of...tied up with a problem." He laughed at his own joke.

Krissy:

I smiled at him. *I see that." I said softly. I glanced at Michael, my eyes asking him if Jack could be untied.

Michael:

I shook my head, as Jack's eyes glazed over a bit and he gripped my wrist. I winced a little, but otherwise didn't respond.

Krissy:

I pressed my lips together and looked at the floor. My eyes teared up a bit as I couldn’t help but think this was my fault.

Michael:

I pulled my arm out of Jack's grasp and got to my feet, taking the cup with me. "Come on Krissy."

Krissy:

I patted Jacks arm gently as I slid off the bed. “I’ll come back to see you later.” I murmured to him. I followed Michael, blinking tears out of my eyes.

I moved downstairs and into the kitchen so I could start washing the glass.

Krissy:

I followed him into the kitchen and put my hand lightly on his shoulder. “Michael?” I said softly. I loved Jack, and it pained me immensely to see him in the condition he was. But he was Michael’s closest friend. I could only imagine how he felt.

Michael:

"I'm fine." I said softly, giving her a tiny smile. I wasn't entirely lieing to her, but the truth would be more along the lines of, she gained her brother at the cost of mine.

Krissy:

I rubbed his back gently and kissed his cheek. “Okay.” I said softly though I knew he wasn’t fine. I picked a couple of grapes out of a bowl as I watched him.

When she went to eat the grapes I plucked one out of her hand innocently, popping it into my mouth before she could take it back.

Krissy:

I smiled softly at him and rolled my eyes. I popped a couple in my mouth. Grapes were some of the few things that didn’t make me sick to eat. I glanced at the door as it swung open. “Morning.” I muttered to Eric, my smile disappearing as I looked down at my handful of grapes. He let out a soft breath. “You look better.” He said, eyeing me. He didn’t sound all together pleased..

Michael:

"You were wrong Eric." I called as I laid my head down on the table. I didn't want to deal with him now, but I supposed I wouldn't have much of a choice.

Eric:

“Good.” I said. Obviously I hadn’t wanted her to get worse. Though, we were in the same roundabout satiation as before.

Krissy:

I looked up at Michael’s words. “Right about what?” I asked curiously. I hadn’t thought that Michael and Eric had ever spoken to each other or ever would. Maybe this was a good thing.

Michael:

"Eric thought neither you or Kyle would make it." I said with a slight shrug of my shoulders, a bit lost in my thoughts to think about what I was saying.

Krissy:

I blinked in surprise. “What?” I asked him before turning my eyes on Eric. He looked guilty. “You thought I wasn’t going to make it? As in die?” I demanded coldly.

Michael:

The only thing that came into my head beyond jack, and Krissy. Was that this could be interesting to watch. I lifted my head enough that I could rest it on my arms, giving me a good view of the two and their faces.
