Perfect Assassins

Eric:

“Anyone would have.” I answered, mentally cursing Michael for telling her. “You looked horribly, you half bled yourself to death, you weren’t eating. You would have died had you not been prevented. I won’t apologize for what I thought. Not my fault you have a death wish.”

Krissy:

As the urge to cause him pain increased I became very aware that I didn’t have my knives on me. Instead I crossed my arms. “I do not have a death wish.” I hissed.

Michael:

I couldn't help but get to my feet at their words. I didn't say anything, I just went to the pantry, got a bag of popcorn and then went to the microwave, putting it inside and starting to cook it.

Krissy:

My eyes followed Michael’s movements then narrowed when he put the popcorn in. I let out my breath then turned my attention back to Eric. “Why do you always have to do this? Can’t you just keep your mouth shut like everyone else?” I said before leaving the kitchen.

Michael:

I took the popcorn out and poured it into a bowl before getting a drink as well.

Eric:

“Why do you have to sabotage her like that?” I asked bluntly watching him disdainfully.

Michael:

"Save it, you know as well as I do, that your not innocent either in this." I responded before taking the bowl of popcorn and heading out of the room.

~Time Skip~

Krissy:

I sat quietly in the car watching the dessert race by the window. I hadn’t said a word since we left and we had been in the car a while. At least a couple more hours until we got there, since Michael was driving and not myself…

I could feel her quiet frustration with my driving, but she had been the one to tell me to drive. So I wasn't going to say anything about it. She brought it on herself.

Krissy:

I shifted slightly propping my feet on the dashboard. I had been struggling with the question I wanted to ask Michael for a while, but didn’t quite know how to say it. Thinking about it made my already upset stomach tighten. “Michael?” I finally asked, sill looking out the window.

"Yes love?" I responded, glancing at her before bringing my eyes back towards the road ahead of us. I was curious what she had to say, but I also didn't want to pry if she didn't feel like talking.

Krissy:

“Do you actually want to be a father?” I asked, not facing him. “If the choice was completely yours, what would you do?”

"If the choice was really mine...to be honest I am not entirely sure. One part of me, says yes. I would love to be a father, I would cherish them and love them like I had never gotten. The other part of me says, that as long as I am in this business of being an assassin, it just isn't going to happen, as well as I don't know the first thing about being a parent." I replied after a few moments.

Krissy:

I chewed on my lip for a minute before glancing at him and reaching to take him hand.

I blinked and looked down at her hand in surprise. I smiled softly and looked up at her, guessing she had made her decision.

Krissy:

I moved his hand to rest my cheek on the back of it. “I’m scared.” I murmured, letting out a shake breath.

Michael:

"Don't be..." I whispered, stroking her cheek with the back of my hand. "Nothing will happen to you, and I will be with you for every second of your life."

Krissy:

I let out a soft, shaky breath and nodded a little. I lowered his hand to my lap and held it with both of my hands.

With what little movement I could make while having my hand in both of hers, I rubbed her legs, trying to give her comfort.

Krissy:

Once we got there we were told to take a seat in the waiting room. I looked around the room, holding Michael’s hand a little more firmly than usual. There was only one other person in the room, she was reading a magazine propped up on her rounded belly. I tugged Michael to a could seats in the corner on the opposite side of the room.

I rubbed the back of Krissy's hand gently with my thumb, ignoring how tight she had a hold on my hand.

Krissy:

I tried to keep clam by breathing steadily through my nose. I was on the verge of accepting what was about to happen when the door to the office opened and in came a woman towing two young, whining children behind her. I sank low in my seat suddenly nauseated again. A soft moan escaped under my breath as the woman and her offspring sat in the seats across from us. One of the children dropped whatever gaudy toy it was holding and scooted out of its seat to retrieve it. The little boy came very close to me and I promptly crossed my legs away from it. I had no idea what expression my face held, but the mother saw fit to give me a dirty look. I caught it out of the corner of my eye, and taking my gaze of the child for a moment I shot one back at her. Mine must have been more dangerous looking, because she called her kid back to her and avoided looking at me by reading a magazine.

Michael:

I chuckled softly and leaned over to whisper in her ear, "Behave or you don't get icecream after." I settled back, and closed my eyes, relaxing with my arm around her shoulders.

Krissy:

“I don’t think ice cream is an adequate enough bribe to make me behave.” I muttered resting my head on his shoulder.

I chuckled quietly and responded in her ear, "What about your favorite meal and a back rub?"

Krissy:

“I don’t know if I will be able to hold anything down after this.” I muttered, squeezing his hand lightly.
