Boarding School for the Mythical

Tabitha:

As soon as the door was closed I head a pitiful whine. “He’ll stop, I promise.” I said as I sat on the couch next to Sphinx.

I chuckled softly, "I think I understand his displeasure. I hate to be away from you too." I said. The words came easily to me, as they always did when I spoke the truth in complimenting her.

Tabitha:

I blushed and looked at my lap. “Why do you always say things like that?” I asked, lightly chewing on my lip.

"Because they are true?" I said softly, smiling happily at her blush.

Tabitha:

“But you don’t have to say them.” I blushed deeper.

Sphinx:

"But why keep them in? Especially when I get reactions like this, that make me smile." I responded back cheerfully.

Tabitha:

“You’re making me all self-conscious.” I muttered.

Sphinx:

I turned my head to look away from her, "Is this better?" I asked gently teasing her.

Tabitha:

“Well no…” I admitted shifting in my seat a little to be closer to him.

I turned to look at her once I felt her shift closer. "Then what would make you feel better?"

Tabitha:

“Just hush.” I said with a playful smile as I looked up at him.

Sphinx:

I nodded and responded quietly, "Yes'm."

Tabitha:

I scooted closer to him. “Remember you promised me anything I wanted when we got back.” I reminded him softly.

"I do." I said simply, feeling my heart speed up as she got closer. "What is it you want Tabitha?" I whispered softly.

Tabitha:

I was going to bring up the idea of food, but the way he answered made me shiver and distracted me. I glanced at his lips without meaning to.

Sphinx:

Noting her gaze dropping to my lips, my own eyes focused on her lips.

I sighed and scooted back to the armrest of the couch dropping my gaze to the floor.

Sphinx:

"Whats wrong?" I asked, my brow furrowing in confusion. Had I done something wrong?

“It’s just going to be the same with you.” I said sullenly, crossing my arms.

"What do you mean?" I asked, even more confused.

“It’s going to be the same!” I snapped. “The same as last time. As soon as you get it.”

My ears laid back, as I sat there, a bit stunned by her outburst.

I looked up to frown at him, clearly frustrated.

"I don't understand." I told her honestly.

“You know for someone who’s lived so long, you think you’d be a little quicker.” I muttered sullenly. “I’m mad at you. Obviously. For last night. Or don’t you remember?”
