Boarding School for the Mythical

I wiped my mouth dry with the back of my hand, before turning to respond to her. "Yeah, when ever you are ready."

Tabitha:

I held my hand out for him with a playful smile on my lips.

I took it, my ears twitching a little at her smile.

Tabitha:

I squeezed his hand gently as we walked back to the car. Shade followed a pace behind us.

When we reached the car I opened her door for her and shade. In all I had enjoyed this little date.

Tabitha:

I smiled in thanks and slid into the seat, settling Shade in my lap for the ride back.

I started up the car once I was inside. I pulled out then took off towards her apartment. I kept my gaze focused on the road this time, my mind rather empty.

Tabitha:

I watched out the window with Shade. He would wag his tail anytime we passed open fields.

I didn't notice the silence in the car, my mind still utterly blank.

Tabitha:

After a few minutes in silence I glanced at Sphinx’s. “Are you okay?” I asked softly, touching his arm lightly.

I gave a small start, though the drive wasn't affected at all. "Huh? Yeah, just feeling absent headed."

Tabitha:

“How come?” I asked a little anxiously. Was I that boring?

Sphinx:

"To be honest, I am just at a loss for what to do. I could say I am driven speechless by you." I paused to look at her for a moment before continuing on, "But that wouldn't entirely be correct. I mean I am, but not in this moment. I think my brain just can't think of anything it wants to think about."

Tabitha:

“Is that a bad thing…?” I asked quietly.

Sphinx:

"Its no worse than having my head full of ideas." I remarked with a shrug.

Tabitha:

“Oh.” I said softly, feeling like I had somehow done something wrong. I looked down at Shade in my lap.

Sphinx:

"What?" I asked, my eyes flicking in her direction.

Tabitha:

I smiled slightly and shook my head as I stroked Shade’s fur rhythmically.

I blinked at her confused, before focusing forward so I could find a parking spot near her apartment.

Tabitha:

When we got back I went ahead to unlock the door. I was slightly nervous now, I had been in control all morning, but I had heard the laugh…

Sphinx:

I followed along behind, my hands in my pockets as I watched Tabitha ahead of me. I was glad I had been able to go on a date with her.

Tabitha:

I opened the door and stepped into the apartment, holding the door for Sphinx. Shade trotted in happy to be home in the air-conditioning.

I stepped inside, moving off to the side politely. It was her home after all, and I didn't know if she had it cleaned as much as she might want.

Tabitha:

“Make yourself at home.” I said with a smile as a went into the kitchen. I pulled out a can of food for shade and put it in a bowl mixed with warm water. He put his paws up on the cabinets waging his tail. I lured him into my room with the bowl and set it down then promptly locked him in so he couldn’t bother us.

Sphinx:

I was relaxed on her couch, looking around with interest. I had always enjoyed being in other people's places. It said a lot about them, how clean it was, how it was decorated, ect.
