Boarding School for the Mythical

I stumbled a little. “What’s wrong with you?” I asked bluntly.

I gave her a tired smile holding my midriff. "I'm dying."

“But… Don’t you have to be old first? You look… Young.” I looked her over.

"I am the phoenix. I die when ever it is my time. Then I will come back again. I never know when it will happen and I won't remember a thing about my previous lives for a time." I closed my eyes and sighed.

Velaric:

I spoke up at that. “You’re going to forget? You’re going to be different?” I asked with a frown.

"Can I sit down?" I asked Tabitha. It was her place after all, regardless if I had been going through it before it was polite to ask permission.

Velaric:

The girl shrugged, gesturing to the couch. I crossed my arms watching Vivian move with cold eyes, and an expressionless face.

Vivian:

I glanced between the two of them. "If you two don't want me here anymore...I can just leave too. My assistants are coming now. They can find me..." I leaned over and bit my lip to keep in a groan of pain.

Velaric:

“I’m not going to leave.” I said stubbornly. “You can’t go near her, she’ll burn you.” The other girl replied, leaning against the wall next to the door, just watching.

Vivian:

"I appreciate the concern you two..." I said softly holding my head in my hands. "And I wont burn you both...I don't think."

Velaric:

“It doesn’t take much for me.” I said quietly, standing a few yards back.

Vivian:

"Right Vampire and all that." I said. I hoped that my assistants would come here soon.

Velaric:

“One of the few down sides.” I said, to which the other girl snorted. “Right, only a few, good heavens.”

Vivian:

"Driving hunger, unable to feel warmth, watching all your non-vampire loved ones age and die next to you." I said while holding my head in my hands.

Velaric:

I sighed. “I am well aware of all of those.” I said sharply.

"Ironically the two of you are standing in a room with someone who should be your worst nightmare...funny how small things are forgotten..." I said as I laid down on the couch.

“I am my own nightmare.” I muttered moving across the room to the counter and grabbing an apple. I bit into it. “How long until you to die?” I asked boredly. The vampire shot me a nasty look.

"Your own nightmare?" I asked and brought out a hand where a ball of fire burst into being on it. "I wonder how quickly you would burn..." I let the fire go and ran a hand over my face. "I'm sorry for that..."

My eyes flashed darkly, my stomach turned and I could almost feel venom seeping into my veins. I moved over to the vampire. “I think it’s time for us to go now.” I said.

Vivian:

I turned my gaze past them and to the door when two people walked in. They were dressed much as I had been the first time I had met Velaric, and one moved right to my side, picking me up as if I weighed nothing. The other turned and bowed to the two of them. "Thank you for looking after her. Might we offer anything in payment?"

The vampire held up his hands and shook hos head. “Hey, I’m just happy she’s not burning down the apartment.” I said

Vivian:

"Apartment? At her state and age now. The block would be a better idea sir. Though I don't know if we will be able to make it to a safe place for her to rebirth." The man said turning to look at me. He turned back to them, "We have a ride downstairs to take her to a safe house. You both are welcome to come and witness the event. Friends are always welcome."

I looked up to the Vampire. “We have to find Sphinx, the two of us. She’ll come back.” I said, I had no interest in seeing her rebirth, it somehow sent chills down my spine at the mere thought.

Vivian:

I gave a small smile to myself. So they were going together to find him...that was good. "Look to the east, a shrine exists deep in the woods."

I rolled my eyes. “Really helpful. You’re great with giving directions.” I said sarcastically. “Go east,” I muttered. “I shrine in the woods.”
