Boarding School for the Mythical

Sphinx:

"So be it then." I growled. I used my power to create clothes onto my body. I then stepped towards them both, grabbed Vellaric by the front of his shirt, and Tabitha by her robe. I tugged them close to me, though I stared at the doorjam instead of looking at them. "I don't like it when people close to me fight. I am not worth the effort of fighting like this over me. And so until the two of you come to get me together, I will not be seeing you two again." I gave a push, the hidden strength inside me showing itself. Vel would have hit the wall in the hallway, and Tabitha would have landed on the couch. I shook my head and with a ripping motion in the air I opened a portal. I stepped through and sealed it behind me before either of them could follow.

I sat up on the couch, hearing a groan of frustration from the vampire. “Look what you did.” He hissed. “I don’t care.” I crossed my arms and legs and nestled into the couch. “He’s my best friend, I have to find him, keep him out of trouble.” He said. I rolled my eyes. “I don’t care.”

Vivian:

I had followed Velaric, having nothing else to do. And it was them talking to each other through the open door that I then walked in on them.

“Oh god, not you.” I muttered when I saw the girl from earlier.

Velaric:

I sighed, leaning against the wall with a hand to my head.

I looked between the two before shaking my head and moving into the apartment. I walked right past Tabitha without a second glance and went into her bedroom, my eyes glowing faintly as I looked around the room. I found the faint color I was looking for and I walked over to it, crawling under her bed to grab the box. I pulled it out and opened it up, digging through it until I found a necklace. I grabbed it and went out to the living room again, holding the necklace in my fist.

I watched her resentfully. “What are you doing?” I demanded.

Vivian:

"I am showing the two of you what you really care about and how stupid the two of you are acting." I said as I marched right up to her. I took her hand and shoved the necklace into it, "I was there the day you had that thing put in you. I was there watching when Sphinx created this for you, a gift to the girl he thought was the bravest one on the planet." I then whirled around and marched over to Velarric, my hand flashing out to slap him across the face. I doubted it would actually hurt him, vampires sucked like that. But it made me feel a bit better. "And you, here you are saying you have to look after Sphinx, and yet you do nothing but cause problems. He. Is. Happy. What more to you want?"

Velaric:

I put a hand to my cheek and looked at her with hurtful eyes.  “I want him to be safe…  She’s the one who causes problems.”  I nodded to the girl.  She frowned and got off the couch, moving over to us.  “I believe your friend is the one who causes problems. Not me.  Besides He doesn’t want me.  He wants the other one, the sweet one.  The useless one.” She said dully.

"Honestly the two of you are like spoiled brats! You, do you really think that Sphinx is that singular? The two of you in that head don't communicate at all. If he went and followed you, he was thinking he would lose you both!" I yelled at her before turning to Velaric, "Sphinx is dieing you fool, much like a battery he is running out of energy. Why are you so adamant that he follow your wishes and not what he wants in his heart?"

I glared at them both before a look of pain and horror crossed over my face. A wave a pain traveled through my body and I reached a hand out to rest it on the nearest surface a way to support myself.

Velaric:

I stepped forward to catch her if she fell. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” I asked quickly.

I scowled at the both of them then turned to go to my room. I dropped the robe as I went. Once in my room I dropped the necklace on the bed and got dressed in black pants and a low cut maroon top. I picked up the necklace again and stuck it in my pocket.

Vivian:

I shuddered and a wave of heat rolled off me. "This soon...I don't have my assistants here..." I mumbled.

Velaric:

I shied away from the heat a little. “What’s going on?” I asked a bit more urgently.

Vivian:

"I'm dying." I said with a sigh. "I need to call for help as soon as possible." I turned to look at him, moving strands of hair out of my face.

Velaric:

“Tell me what to do to help you.” I said urgently.

"Get a phone...then stay some distance away from me." I told him, moving away from him and after Tabitha. When I found her I leaned against the door jam and asked softly. "How badly do you want to be free of your curse?"

I stared at her. “It’s not… I…” I backed up a little. “I don’t.” I said, a little scared of the idea.

"You have some time to decide...I can release you...soon I will have the power to do so..." I said before groaning and giving a small shudder.

I stared at her, my eyes wide. “The thing is… It’s not the problem anymore…” I admitted in a whisper.

"Then what is? Tabitha you might not like me, or the protective side of you might not like me...whatever...but I honestly care about your well being. Sphinx cares about you a lot, and that means your something special." I looked up at her tiredly.

I put an arm around my middle, hugging myself. “You can’t do anything for me. It’s done. I’m separated from myself. This power did it to me… But I’m a part of it now…” I stepped further away from her.

I looked at her in confusion. "What are you talking about? Separate from yourself?" I paused and closed my eyes and when I opened them I looked at her. "Your not going to go after Sphinx at all are you."

“I’m not the one who should. I’m split you see. I was one person… But I’m split now, and I, the Tabitha who is speaking to you now, am a whole person. If you take the power away from me… I’m afraid that I will disappear with it. It attached to a part of me… It attached to me, the other one, the Tabitha Sphinx cares for, she’s untainted except for me. I control this power, she contains it.” I turned away from her as I spoke. It was making me too emotional and I was afraid she would see me cry. I hadn’t spilled any tears yet though. “Maybe I should just relent to her. Let her find him. He would be happier to see her than me. I just cause problems.”

Velaric:

I stood by the wall, out of view of the girl listening to her speak.

Vivian:

I moved over to her and slapped her lightly. It was a bit more like a swat to the cheek and then I hugged her tightly. "You silly silly girl. Sphinx likes people as a being. I am the phoenix. I have had more lives than you have had years. My personality can change in the beginning of each one. And yet he is still my friend. Sphinx cares about you, no matter how many of you there are inside that head and body." I pulled back and held her at arms length. "I have talked with Sphinx about why he did what he did. Making that necklace. He made it so that who ever the little girl became, what ever happened to her, she would always be able to count on him."

My body was kind of ridged, I didn’t like being handled like that, just randomly hugged. I stood awkwardly, looking at the dresser behind her. “I don’t remember it.” I admitted dully.

"Gave some of the immortals at the council a right slap to the face. There are many who would like Sphinx for themselves. Not only is he ancient but he is also very influential. He has ties in a lot of families out there. Go find him, and see for yourself, he cares about what ever one is currently in control." I tapped her forehead to make my point then pushed her away suddenly as another wave of heat left me.
