Boarding School for the Mythical

The little girl smiled more and reached out for the *fox* pendant. Her father looked around the room apprehensively then laid eyes on Jensen. The elf smiled encouragingly.

Sphinx:

"Be strong princess okay? Can you be very brave for me?" I asked her softly, ignoring the father. If he didn't know me, so be it. Others could explain.

The girl cocked her head to the side then held her hand out to touch his ear.

Sphinx:

I bent my head down to her hand so she could play with my ears all she wanted. A soft smile was on my face and I ignored when I heard Vivian speak at the table, "Might want to start talking Jensen, if Sphinx starts liking the girl. He has always had a soft spot for children, and bringing her is sealing your fate against this plan."

Jensen got to his feet and moved over to the father. “Bring her here Valen.” He motioned to the spot in front of the box on the table.

I stayed standing exactly where I was, my soft and quiet voice carrying out to all corners of the room. "If you go through with this plan. Your life is forfeit to me Jensen."

Jensen sighed softly. “So be it. I am going through with this.” He said determinedly.

Sphinx:

I gritted my teeth and leaned over the girl, planting a kiss on her forehead, whispering softly in the language of my people. "May you grow up to be happy, to be strong and smart, and to find the person or persons who you will love till the day you pass from this world." My words rang with power as the language of my people always did. Not many understood it, even fewer still could speak it. It was undoubtedly a blessing.

Vivian:

"Well well well, that was a surprise no? Been a long time since I last heard of him blessing anyone...well if he is content to do such an act, then I shall offer one of my own." I stood to my feet stiffly and turned towards Jensen. "My time is near, I shall quicken it for the sealing. Use the energy released to bind that demon." I turned my head and make a beckoning gesture to my two attendants. A man and a woman, both balled and dressed as monks.

Jensen nodded and went to the little girl. Her eyes were wide and watchful. He lifted her up onto the table and told her to laydown then he moved to the box and began to open the box.

Vivian:

I closed my eyes and I caught fire. I willed the energy of my death forward, surrounding the box and the young girl. Like a flood gate, all that was inside Pandora's box burst free. But because of my channel it had only one place to go. The girl. It was nearly too much, and I almost broke before the transfer was done. I could only give one last wish in my mind for the girl to live a happy life before everything went dark.

Sphinx:

When I felt the heat of Vivians death I brought my power around the girl and her father, protecting them from the heat alone, and I also protected the girl from any harm the contents of Pandora wished to do to it. Once the box was done spewing forth contents, silence befell the room. It was broken then by a soft cry, a baby birds. The newly born Vivian. I didn't need to look over to know that her assistance would have already started taking care of her.

Each being in the room preformed their own bit of magic to seal the power into the girl. When it was done the little girl laid motionless on the table, staring glassy-eyed at the ceiling. Her father scooped her up into his arms with a worried look. She clung to him then and buried her face into his shirt. Jensen looked guilty, he didn't know what would be happening to the girl right now, but he had a bad feeling.

Sphinx:

I kept my gaze on Jensen, while one ear was swiveled to the girl, waiting for a response. I was not making a kind expression, I knew that.

“Mama.” The girl muttered into her father’s shirt. “I think I’ll take her home. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted on anything that happens. Luna will be worried.” He father said. Jensen nodded. He would follow them home to make sure nothing happened to them.

Sphinx:

"The price still hangs over you Jensen." I said softly.

~End of flash back~

Tabitha:

I jumped, startled by the pounding knock at the front door. “I’ll be right back.” I said quietly. I tip toed into the living room, tying my robe a little tighter. I peeked through he peep hole, expecting to see someone I could ignore. I recoiled when I saw it was Sphinx’s vampire friend. I took in a dizzying breath and blacked out.

I blinked then threw open the door. I was furious, but it wasn't directed at the vampire. “What?” I demanded bluntly, not caring that the only thing I had on was a very short robe of thin material.

Sphinx:

I heard the sharp words spoken from the door. I sighed, knowing that I no longer had the innocent Tabitha back, but the stronger willed one. I moved to the kitchen door and peeked over, just to see who it might be.

I scowled at the vampire and he barely glanced at me before his eyes settled on something behind me. I turned to look and glared when I saw Sphinx.

I blinked and looked at the two of them, silently cursing inside my head. "Well this is going to be fun." I mumbled as I turned to look from one to the other.

“You slept with him.” The vampire said with a tone of annoyance. “Not me.” I spat, holding up my hands. His eyes narrowed. “You’re the other one?” He asked cautiously. My blood boiled at that. “I am Tabitha! I have always been Tabitha!” I shouted at him. “There is no other one, there’s just me, I’m not someone else!”

Sphinx:

"There is only one Tabitha..." I agreed, then shrugged. "Think of Gornan, its kind of the same thing." Gornan had been a friend of Vel's and I, a giant who had two personalities. But one was only there to safe guard the other should it become vulnerable or strongly emotional.

“But one seems to be much more dangerous than the other.” The vampire said darkly. “You’re one to talk,” I snapped, ignoring the vampire. “You don’t see us the same at all. One is clearly more desirable.” I was mad, but a little bit of hurt seeped through in my tone.

I sighed loudly, bringing my power up as I glared at the two of them. "Either the both of you play nice. Or I will separate you."

“I don’t care. Send him away, or better yet both of you leave.” I hissed. “Sounds like a plan, Come on Sphinx.” The vampire responded keeping his eyes on me. “It’s time for you to take your blood sucking pet home.” I spat. “Excuse me?” That clearly hit a nerve. I smiled. “You heard me.”

I had kept up an easy smile even with my glare but when they started throwing insults all playfulness was gone. I was pissed, and I radiated my displeasure around me, my glare focused on both of them.

Velaric:

I let out a breath and stepped up close to the girl. “Stay away from him.” I hissed. She looked up at me with her bright bronze eyes. “I’m not the one you have to worry about. He doesn’t want me anyway. Besides, you can’t do anything to me. You’re threats are empty. You think you’re powerful just because you’re stronger and faster than humans? I can do so much more. So don’t get in my way.” She whispered, both of us ignoring Sphinx.
