School of Thought

Danny:

“Felicia.” I said disapprovingly. “What did I tell you before class?” I lifted her chin up so she had to face me.

Felicia:

"To pay attention and take notes...." I mumbled unhappily.

Danny:

“And you didn’t do that.” I chastised. “But you will in your next class wont you?” I asked, forcing her to face me.

"No..." I admitted honestly.

Danny:

I frowned unhappily at her.

I ducked my head a bit, but then I fell into one of my bad moods. To others, I would appear to be trembling, with a glassy eyed look, with a very noticeable paling of the skin. I had been known to bite my lip or dig my finger nails into my skin hard enough to draw blood from the contact. I got into this situation a lot. It was a living nightmare drawn up by my past. Every night was like this for me, which is why I full blasted music all night through headphones. I could get like this even if I had been laughing just a second before. The onset was seemingly random.

Danny:

I sighed and took her by the arm, nodding to my friends before steering her out of the dinning hall.

I gave a soft whine, clinging onto him. I hid my face against him, trying to fight off the nightmare. Inwardly I was screaming that I wanted my music. Music chased away my nightmares...

Danny:

I held her close and rubbed her back between her shoulders like she liked murmuring soothing things to her.

It took me a while to calm down, and once I did I just broke into a sob and held onto him tightly. I hated getting like that, but at the same time I couldn't prevent it.

Danny:

I took her to a darker more secluded area. “Do we need to go home, Kitty?” I asked her softly after a little while. Maybe college was too big of a step.

I gave a small shrug of my shoulders, sniffing a bit and wiping my nose on his shirt. "I dunno...I want music..." I said softly, hugging myself a little.

Danny

“Stay here.” I ordered her. I thought it was a bad idea to leave her on her own like this, but I would only be a minute. I hurried back to my friends table.

Wren:

I leaned against the wall, hugging myself tighter. I was conflicted between punching the wall behind me in anger against my freak outs, or curling up into a ball and crying some more.

Nathanial:

I tugged my beanie down a little bit, uncomfortable that the couple had invaded my secluded space. They hadn’t noticed me. I tilted my head and watched the girl when her boyfriend left her. She seemed angry.

I sighed and slid down the wall, covering my human ears as a few tears leaked out of my eyes. I needed music...music made the bad thoughts and nightmares go away.

Nathanial:

I was compelled to go to her, an unlikely thing for me. I went over nervously and crouched in front of her. “Hey, what’s wrong? Do you need something?” I asked rather awkwardly.

Felicia:

I looked up at him, my eyes unfocused. "What are you supposed to be...." I asked a bit sullenly, with a pout.

Nathanial:

I blinked taken aback. “Um… I… What?” I asked in confusion and awkwardness.

Felicia:

I looked him over again, though this time my eyes seemed to be looking through him as if he wasn't real.

Nathanial:

I hesitated. Should I go find someone to take care of her? There seemed to be something going on other than her being upset. I stood up slowly. “Do you need me to go get someone?” I asked.

I shook my head and looked down at the ground. "No, my brother is coming..."

Danny:

“Kitty.” I called to her after I rounded the corner and saw the boy standing in front of her. “Come here.” I told her, holding my hand out.

Felicia:

I got to my feet in a rush and pushed past the boy, my tail coming out for a brief second before coiling around my leg again. I sped to Danny, wanting to just be home now.

Danny:

I handed her the MP3 player and towed her along to where our car was waiting for us. I had cleared it with our teachers and they let us go due to special circumstances. I helped my sister into the car.
