School of Thought

I climbed into the car, already blasting music as loud as it could go. "Your friend has terrible taste in music..." I remarked softly as I relaxed into the seat.

Danny:

“I don’t know. I kind of like K-Pop.” I said with a slight smile. I slid in next to her and told the driver to take us home. “What was that boy doing with you? Was he bothering you?” I asked her.

I could hear him clearly over the music, as my cat ears still worked fine while my human ones were drowned out with music. I paused in mid action, my hands at my hair where I was freeing my ears. My face fell into one of sadness and guilt. "So he was real?"

Danny:

“Kitty.” I said in disapproval. “Don’t tell me you were rude to him. I’ve told you to watch that while you’re in public.”

I shook my head and looked down at the floor, "I wasn't rude....I um....we should head ba-" I cut myself off as I glanced out the car window. It was much to late for us to actually head back now. "I...I-I'm sorry....I was bad..." I said guiltily, "I thought he was a figment of my imagination...they get vivid sometimes...and well..." I uncurled my tail from around my upper thigh. From my tail I plucked a wallet, offering it out nervously.

Danny:

I sighed deeply taking the wallet. I opened it up, hoping to get a name and number I could use to get it back to the boy. The wallet contained only four items; I ten dollar bill, a yellow card with a moon stamped on the front. A thoroughly worn out slip of paper that had all the lettering rubbed off, and receipt for a book store.

Felicia:

I looked at the items in interest, though I still looked very guilty. None of it meant anything to me, though the card was interesting.

Danny:

“I’ll take it into lost and found later.” I said with a sigh, folding the wallet up. “You’re not allowed to take things that are not yours, Kitty.”

I shifted and chewed on my lip. "Well...I thought he wasn't real! I didn't think it would count as really stealing if its from my head..."

Danny:

“In the future don’t do it. When in doubt assume the person is real, and behave, then come find me and I will confirm it for you.” I said with mild frustration.

I slumped my shoulders dejectedly. I had made a real mess of things today and now my brother was mad at me...

Danny:

Our car stopped in front of the house. “Come on Kitty.” I pulled her gently by the hand out of the car.

I let him lead me inside, the music still blaring at max volume. It was loud enough that he could hear the words if he wanted to.

Danny:

I sat her in the living room on the couch then left briefly. I brought her back a glass of warm milk. “Not a success I’d say. Maybe we should wait another year?” I suggested after a little while.

I took the milk before looking down unhappily. I shifted in my seat before nodding slowly. "Yeah...maybe." I agreed quietly.

Danny:

I sighed. I didn’t want to keep her from what she wanted… I just didn’t want her to get hurt.

I sipped at my milk before tipping it back and draining it quickly. That done I looked up at him, "Can I go play in my playroom?"

Danny:

“Of course.” I said with a soft sigh.

I scampered off immediately, shedding my socks and shoes as I went. Once I opened the doors to my wonderful play room. I tossed aside the mp3 player onto a beanbag chair, then neatly stripped out of all of my clothing. I changed into something more suited to playing, namely what ever I found lying around at hand. Two mismatched thigh high socks, one rainbow colored, the other straight black. A simple pair of cotton panties with a sports bra in the same pale blue color. Over both of these things went a set of overalls. I gathered my hair into a ponytail, using a different long sock that was thin enough for me to use as a ribbon. That done, I grabbed a set of wireless headphones, put them over my ears, then hit a remote to start playing music more to my taste. I also hit a different button to play the music out of speakers hidden all over the room. Music going and in clothes I felt better suited to play in, I turned my gaze to the room in front of me. It was a wild jungle gym, with forts, hammocks, bars, slides, nets, ect. All spread out and jumbled together. Pillows, blankets, clothing, and the occasional stuffed animal were hanging or tossed everywhere. Electronics had been built in to some areas of the three story high room. And it was wide and long enough to fit someone's house inside. It was my place of freedom and solitude, and I enjoyed it immensely.

Jamie:

I sighed as I pulled a stack of papers into my lap. After putting on my reading glasses I sorted through the stack slowly, readying each page. After a few hours and once I finished the stack I went to Felicia’s playroom and leaned against the door frame trying to spot her.

Felicia:

I was up high in the playroom, my feet dangling over the edge, swinging back and forth. In my hands I held a handheld gaming device, that I was playing with. My headphones were still on full blast, and the speakers in the room were also playing, though at a more reasonable level.

Danny:

“Here kitty, kitty!” I called once I found her. I rattled a little treat bag that held fresh made cookies.

Felicia:

I gasped softly my eyes going wide as I noticed the treat bag. I tossed aside the game and slipped neatly off the platform. I fell six feet before I reached out and caught a rung with my hands. I continued down in this fashion, sliding, climbing, dropping. And once I hit the ground I rushed over to him, bouncing on my toes.

Danny:

I chuckled and ruffled her hair affectionately. “What do you say to having a few guests over tonight?” I asked holding the treat bag just out of her reach.

My eyes only left the cookies for a second to give him a confused glance. We almost never had guests. And even when we did, I wasn't often invited. Guests tended to be company people, and so only wanted to deal with him as the head of the company. "What kind of guests?" I asked carefully.
