"Well, we gotta fix that. Hugs are good, and its good practice for when you find someone you like in a romantic way." I said smiling softly up at him before turning and looking around, trying to listen for my brother and his friends.

Nathanial:

I tried to think if I had ever liked someone in a romantic way, but nothing came to mind. Only recently being at school was I even around that many people.

I caught his thinking expression and I giggled. "You have never had romantic feelings about someone?" I asked with a tilt of my head.

Nathanial:

I rubbed the back of my neck. “Is that really a bad thing?” I asked. From the looks of it, it didn’t make things much better.

"Well no...as I haven't either...but you still should. A boyfriend or girlfriend are there to take care of you when you can't, and they are your friend no matter what happens in life...atleast that is what I read." I shifted awkwardly, rubbing my cold arms.

Nathanial:

“It doesn’t seem that way in the real world. From what I’ve seen.” I said, looking at the ground. “My sister has had several boyfriends and they always seem to make her miserable in the end.”

"Maybe she is bad at choosing people?" I asked, giving a little shiver. I shrugged my shoulders. "I hope you get lucky and find someone extra special to love." I told him with a smile.

Nathanial:

“I hope I get a scholarship to study abroad. Love is over rated.” I said.

"Oh..." I replied, growing silent. I was going to lose my first friend that quickly?

Nathanial:

“But I probably won’t for a while, not for a couple years once I’m old enough.” I said to fill the silence.

"Oh." I repeated, hugging myself tighter as a gust of wind picked up.

Nathanial:

I looked her over. “Do you… Want to go back inside?” I asked, noticing the goose bumps on her skin.

My teeth chattered for a moment, "But weren't we coming out here to look for the others?"

Nathanial:

“Do you see them?” I asked.

I looked around then shook my head.

Nathanial:

“Lets go in.” I said, nudging her leg with my foot.

I nodded and started to move towards the house. I felt cold all over, and I was jealous of his jacket.

Nathanial:

I followed close behind her, my hands stuffed in my pockets.

Once inside I continued to shiver, though I did sigh in relief to be in the warm house again.

Nathanial:

I checked my watch again and sight softly. “Maybe we should get you a blanket.” I suggested.

I nodded and started to head towards my room. Once inside I grabbed a fluffy blanket from my bed and wrapped up inside it. Also letting it cover my head like a hood.

Nathanial:

I waited for her outside her room, leaning against the wall to text my sister.

I decided I also wanted to get ready for bed and so I actually dropped the blanket and went to my closet, shedding clothes as I went. I regretted the decision when I reached the closet but I just hurried to scramble into an old set of footy pajamas. It was a little small on me, and so it was form fitting, and the hole for my tail was stretched out a bit, but I felt warmer now. I grabbed the blanket and just loosely wrapped it around my shoulders before stepping out of the room.

Nathanial:

“My sister isn’t-“ I started as the door opened then paused when I caught sight of her. I looked her over once then dropped my gaze to my own shoes. “She isn’t answering my texts.” I finished.

I just blinked at him, my lip caught between my teeth. My head was tilted to the side as I considered where my brother might be. I didn't like that he was gone, it made me feel rather nervous about the whole thing.
