School of Thought

Nathanial:

I nudged her along back out the way we had come. And there he was, sure enough, waiting by the fountain, looking around worriedly.

I held onto Nathanial's hand and pulled him over to my brother.

Danny:

I raised my eyebrows at my sister. “And what is going on here?” I asked in surprise. “What did you do to yourself, Kitty?”

"I fell in the fountain." I said before hanging my head and saying very unhappily. "My notes got ruined...I took good care to do them too..." I still had a hold on Nathanial's hand, and I played with it between both of mine as I squirmed, waiting for Danny to be unhappy with me.

Danny

I stared at her for a moment then sighed deeply. “Well you’ll need different clothes.” I told her, looking at her clingy damp ones.

I looked down, feeling unhappy. I wasn't sure, but I guessed that I had made him displeased with me.

Nathanial:

I tugged my hand loose and rubbed it with my other one. “I should probably let you go.” I muttered, happy to turn her over to her brother.

I looked at him and gave a sheepish smile. "Thank you for helping me Nathanial..."

Nathanial:

I smiled back and rubbed the back of my neck. “Anytime.” I said with a little shrug.

"I would give you a hug but I think I got you wet enough already...and thanks a bunch for helping me...and for fixing my ear when it came free." I said earnestly though I gave him a shy smile.

Nathanial:

I glanced at her brother then nodded to her. “Yeah sure. See ya.” I half waved then turned on my heel, readjusting my backpack on my shoulders.

I continued watching him, my eyes never leaving his back even while he walked away. I felt a bit disappointed that he was walking away but I didn't say anything about it.

Danny:

I took her to the School store to get a new change of clothes. “How did you manage to fall into the fountain?” I asked her while we looked through the clothes.

"I think I was pushed in....some guys were playing frisbe and I think someone didn't see me...I got to the fountain early..." I replied as I stood next to him shivering.

Danny:

I hugged her and rubbed her arms vigorously as I kissed the top of her soggy head. “Lets get you changed.” I said after selecting a pair of shorts and a t-shirt with the school logo.

I nodded and while his rubbing helped, I gave another shiver.

Danny:

I paid for the clothes then hurried her off to the dressing rooms so she could change.

I hesitated before going inside asking Danny, "What about my underwear?"

Danny:

“I got some of those too, Kitty.” I told her. “Just put your wet clothes in the bag when you’re done.”

"Oh. This store has everything." I remarked as I stepped into the dressing room. I changed hurriedly, the wet clothes having to be peeled off. The new clothes were stiff and stuck to my damp skin. But they were dry and that made me happy. I tried to fold up my clothes but only managed a half decent job. On top of them went my more intimate apparel. Once I was all changed I stepped out of the dressing room and skipped over to Danny.

The clothes were by no means a perfect fit. The shirt was loose only because finding shirts for my busty self was difficult. Especially because I was on the short side. The shorts were a better fit, and it was only because my skin was damp that they were riding a bit high. Once I dried they would stay down easier.

Danny:

I frowned at her clothing. “Maybe I should just take you home instead of going to your next class.” I said with a little sigh.

I blinked and looked down at myself. "Oh. Well isn't your boyfriend magical? Can't he poof here and bring me something? I was doing well..."

Danny:

“That’s right, Kohl.” I said then squinted my eyes at her. “He’s not my boyfriend, Kitty.” I told her.

"But I think you two would be cute togeth..." I looked up and trailed off. "Sorry..."

Danny:

I gave another sigh as I surveyed her appearance. “I wish Kohl would bring suitable clothes for you to wear.” I muttered under my breath as I rubbed the back of my neck.
