School of Thought

I stuck my tongue out at him before I climbed into the car. I tucked my feet underneath me, as I waited for him to get in as well.

Danny:

I pinched her side gently when I slid in next to her. “Don’t stick your tongue out at me, its rude.” I said playfully.

I narrowed my eyes at him then sighed. "Well your being stubborn about it! Why not just admit it. It would be wasier right?"

Danny:

“There is nothing to admit, Kitty, I’m not hiding anything. “I said in exasperation as the car started moving.

"I don't believe you." I told him before turning my head to look out the window.

Danny:

I sighed and looked out my own window. I had just met Kohl, what did she expect? For me to fall in love at first sight? I didn’t even know if he was inclined that way.

I dug around the backseat before I found one of my music players and headphones, putting them on my head with a happy smile as I started blasting my music at it's usual volume.

Danny:

When we arrived at the house I let Felicia go in before me. I didn’t want her watching me, trying to see how I acted with Kohl, and I knew the moment she stepped through the door she would be distracted by something else and probably wonder off to her play room.

Felicia:

I skipped happily off to the kitchen, wanting a small snack. I was given a ziplock bag of carrot sticks and on my way out I snagged a small bag of chips as well. I took them both and a bottle of water to my playroom so I could watch a movie and do homework.

Danny:

I walked into the house looking around for Kohl. I was hoping I wouldn’t find him working but relaxing instead. I wanted him to feel at home.

Kohl:

I sat in the living room, a book in my lap while a basket of clothes sat to either side of me. Shirts would lift out of one basket and I would look up to adjust it to better fit Danny before it would fold itself and settle into the other basket.

Danny:

I shuffled into the living room and dropped my back pack on the floor next to my favorite armchair. “What are you reading?” I asked curiously.

I flicked my eyes up to his and smiled, giving him the title of my book. "It's interesting so far. A bit dry...but interesting enough. It has been a long time since I last had a chance to read."

Danny:

“I know the feeling.” I said with a slight smile and sat down in my chair before I realized he probably hadn’t had any time at all, like this.

"I think the last time I had a good chance to read...I was proof reading for Shakespeare..." I mused out loud. I frowned at one shirt, tossing the book into the air where it floated as I leaned closer to look it over. It was an odd shaped shirt so I needed more attention to it. I flicked my eyes to Danny and then gave a snap of my fingers again and the shirt inflated as if someone was wearing it. I moved my mouth silently as I made a few adjustments to it my eyes flicking to Danny every now and then as I inspected his torso before making other adjustments.

Danny:

I dropped my gaze self-consciously then tugged a folder out of my bag and started going over reports. I crossed my legs and frowned with every page I turned.

Once I got it all fixed I folded the shirt by hand and floated it into the basket of folded shirts. I looked at the baskets and snapped my fingers, making them both disappear. "Your shirts are all tailored now." I remarked as I grabbed the floating book and went back to reading.

Danny:

I wanted to say something to him, anything, just to get a conversation started, but I also didn’t want to interrupt him while he was having leisure time. I glanced at him over my paperwork often.

I could feel his eyes on me, but unless he said something I wouldn't comment. It made me feel slightly self conscious that he was looking at me so often, but I could only hope that I was looking alright.

Danny:

“So my sister is going to this party Friday,” I said finally, putting my papers down on the side table. “And I’m not really invited, Krista says she’ll have more fun if I’m not there… But I was to be close by, and its on the opposite side of town. I was thinking I’d probably just catch a movie and hang out at the Coffee House… Would you maybe want to keep me company? While I wait for her…” I said, without pausing for breath.

I paused in my reading when he started to speak. I set the book down in my lap, my hands fiddling with a page as I looked at him. My lips were parted slightly as I nodded once he was done. "Sure...I would enjoy keeping you company." My voice was steady, if a little soft. My lips curved into a delighted smile and I set the book aside.

Danny:

I smiled, a little awkwardly. “Great. Thanks.” I said, feeling unusually bashful.

I nodded and tapped my cheek thoughtfully as I focused on the floor. What on earth should I wear to this, I wondered.

Danny:

I sat there for another couple minutes without saying anything before I got up and smoother the front of my shirt down. “I’m going to get a snack. Would you like something?” I asked politely.

"I was just thinking about getting some hot chocolate. Any ideas on what will go well with that?" I asked as I got to my feet. I adjusted my suit accordingly before frowning at it and snapping my fingers. It vanished and for a moment my chest was bare until it was replaced by a cream colored shirt. It had long slits running up the sides. It had little ties holding the front and back together, but all the way up to the armpit was the slit. It had no sleeves and extended down to about mid thigh. Matching pants of the same soft, thin cloth replaced my suit pants. I went barefoot and a red sash wound it's way around my waist. Around my wrists were skin tight silver bangles, and around my upper forearms were similar, skin tight bands. I was lightly muscled, and I could feel the bands tighten around my biceps as I resumed my journey to the kitchen. The entire time the book was left floating beside me.
