Ashton:

When the movie ended, I followed Heather out of the theater and to the outside. It was late and we were the only ones outside at the moment. “Interesting movie, huh?” I said, just to break the silence.

Heather-
I looked and him and nodded. "Yeah. I know you didn't want to see a romance...i didn't know that scene was in there," I shrugged.

Ashton:

With a shrug of my own, I leaned against the outside of the theater and looked at her. She was rather pretty, I knew that, I had of course been living with the girl for a while now. But right now the streetlights where shining in her eyes, changing them green, to yellow, to read. I just watched her for a moment.

Heather-
I stood in front of him while he leaned against the wall and kicked at a pebble on the ground. "But it was fun anyway. Thanks for suggesting it," I said.

Ashton:

I smiled, something I didn't do often, at her. "It was fun. Lets head back to the house and see if the power is on, okay?" I moved a little closer to her and kicked the pebble she was playing with, sending it shooting off into the nearly empty parking lot.

Heather-
I watched the pebble until it disappeared and looked up at him. "Yeah. I'm sure it's on by now," I said.

Ashton:

I touched her back lightly to lead her back to the car. I was a little disconcerted by finding her so pretty tonight. Usually I saw her in baggy shirts and sweatpants. With messy hair, and no makeup, and while she could still be pretty with all of that, it was in a sister setting. I thought of her as a second sister.

Heather-
I hopped into the car and buckled myself in. "When we get home, if the power is off i can call the eletric company from my cell phone," i said.

Ashton:

“I’m sure someone would have called by now. They’ve probably finished working on it by now. Unless it’s a major problem.” I said with a little shrug.

Heather-
"Lets hope it's not a major problem," I said. "I'm not a fan of the dark,"

Ashton:

“You could use your little candle for a nightlight.” I said with a small smirk at her.

Heather-
I playfully glared at him. "I think my candle is more than sufficiant," I smirked back.

Ashton:

“It is awfully little though.” I told her, “Not to mention a fire hazard.”

Heather-
I shrugged. "Well I don't have anything else, so it will have to do if I need it," I said.

Ashton:

When I pulled onto the street I could see a few houses with lit windows. “We might be in luck.” I said as I pulled into our driveway.

Heather-
"Well lets not get ahead of ourselves...I'm pretty unlucky," I mumbled.

Ashton:

I hopped out of the car and went to unlock the door. I stepped in the entry way and flipped the switch. The light flickered on above us. “Well look at that. It’s like magic.” I smiled.

Heather-
I stepped in after him and looked up at the light. "Hey, look at that, I guess you're a good luck charm," I said, grinning at him.

Ashton:

“Not the first time that has been said.” I replied haughty. “Now you’ll have to keep me around.”

Heather-
I smiled and set some of my things down by the door before walking further inside. "Well I wasn't planning on kicking you out," I said.

Ashton:

I gave a big yawn then stretched. “I think I’m going to hit the hay.” I said tiredly.

Heather-
"Oh...okay," I said, shrugging. "Well, goodnight then," I said, walking past him to plop on the couch. I wasn't quite ready for bed so I figured I could watch some TV or something.

Ashton:

My sister had been back for a few days. I tried not to spend more time with Heather now, even though I wanted to. I couldn’t help but notice how pretty she was, even when she was wearing baggy sweats. Before I had seen her as just my sister’s friend, now I saw her as a girl.
