University Roommates

Ashton:

I sunk back onto the couch and through an arm over my eyes. “I don’t want to talk about it.” I said in exasperation.

Heather-
I frowned and let the cereal box kinda hang at my side. "But you admit that there is something?" I asked softly.

Ashton:

I let out a deep sigh. “It’s not a big deal. I don’t want to talk about it. I’m just not in a good mood, okay? Drop it.” I said flatly, with my arm still over my face.

Heather-
I frowned again. "Fine, you don't want to talk to me." I said and started walking away again. "But you should talk to your sister," I mumbled, shaking my head and walking to the kitchen. I kinda slammed the cereal box into the cupboard and then slammed the cupboard door closed. "Your brother is fine," I told Natasha abruptly. Without even waiting for her to answer, I stomped out of the kitchen and into my room and then, of course, slammed that door as well. I never hung out in my room. When I was home, I was always on the couch..

Tasha:

I blinked in surprise, watching her go with wide eyes. “I’m going out for a while.” Ashton peaked his head in the door way to tell me then promptly left. I stood there in the kitchen confused until the timer went off for the scones.

Heather-
Once I got to my room, I pulled off my stupid comfortable clothes and just for something to do, I slid on a pair of jeans and a button down. I pulled my hair out of the ponytail and ran a brush through it, a little disgusted that I let it get so knotted. After shaking it out a bit, I looked in the mirror and felt a little better. On a whim, I took another five minutes to put on a little mascara, which I usually never bother with and then I grabbed a light jacket and walked out of my room. "I'm going out for a little bit," I said, shrugging my jacket on. I quickly walked outside before she could see what I was wearing. If she had, she would know something was up. I didn't really have a plan so I decided to take a quick walk and just clear my head.

Natasha:

I sighed and sat at the table with a little plate of scones. Now they were both acting strange. And I was alone. I ate a couple scones glumly.

Ashton:

I hadn’t meant to snap at Heather, it just happened without me realizing. Now they both knew for sure that something was up. I was pretty certain that Heather would tell my sister what I had said. And then Tasha would have even more reason to worry.

Heather-
I took a quick walk around the block, treated myself to an icecream cone from a cute little old man selling it from his little shop and stopped at the park around the block. I took a seat on the swing took a lick of my treat. There wasn't anyone really around so I just slowly rocked back and forth, taking my time.

Ashton:

I spent most of the day at a coffee shop on my laptop. On my way home around five I stopped at the store to pick up some flowers for my sister. I thought about getting some for Heather as well as an apology, but decided against it. I walked into the house apprehensively, expecting both girls to be mad at me.

Heather-
I had gotten home from the park hours ago in a much better mood. I was now sitting on the couch again, eating one of the leftover scones that Tasha had made. When i heard the door open, I looked back at him and then brought my eyes to firmly stay in the TV

Natasha:

I was sitting on the other side of the couch with a pile of homework in my lap and ear buds in my ears. I looked up when I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. Pulling out the ear buds I said, “And where have you been now?” I asked icily.
“I was at the Coffee House. I’m sorry I’ve been distant and moody these past few days.” He said and held out a bouquet of pink and yellow flowers. I sighed softly and took the flowers with a nod. “Thank you.” I said softly. I loved flowers, and they were one sure way to soften my mood. I got up and went to find a vase in the kitchen.

Ashton:

I turned to Heather. “I’m sorry I snapped at you earlier. I shouldn't have.” I said softly.

Heather-
Without looking up from the TV I shrugged and waved him off. "Its fine. You didnt even really snap at me," I said.

Ashton:

“Regardless, I’m sorry for my behavior.” I said sincerely. As Natasha came back in the room I said, “I was thinking I could take you two to dinner, as an apology for worrying you.”

Heather-
"Tasha was the one who was worried. You two go have fun," I said, still not looking away frok the tv. He had basically been ignoring me since Tasha had gotten home. Now he wanted to take us to dinner?

Ashton:

I looked at Tasha for help. “Aw come on Heather, what else would you do tonight? Watch TV? Come out with us, we haven’t done anything fun in a while.” She pleaded.

Heather-
I sighed and looked over at her. "Fine. But I'm not changing," I mumbled, clicking the TV off. "When are we leaving?" I asked.

Ashton:

“Whenever everyone is ready.” I said and immediately Natasha hurried off to her room to get dressed. I sat down on the couch next to Heather.

Heather-
I handed him the remote and went to stand up. "Here, put something on. Sometimes she takes a while to get ready," I said, grabbing a plate I had used before to eat a scone so I could wash it.

Ashton:

I sighed and turned the TV back on and flipped through the channels until I found a rather gory documentary on a serial killer.

Heather-
I went about washing the plate in the sink, really just to give me something to do other than sit with him on the couch. I scrubbed the plate and then re-scrubbed it, slowing my movements down so it would take more time. Maybe Tasha wouldn't take forever and she'll come out before I'm done.

Ashton:

I watched the TV screen without really watching the show. I could tell she was unhappy with me, but I didn’t quite know why. I had apologized hadn’t I? I leaned over the side of the couch to see what she was doing in the kitchen.

Heather-
At this point, the dish was already washed and Tasha still wasn't ready yet, but I was distracted. I had accidentally used a ton on soap and it was piled in the sink. I scooped some into my hands blew on it, watching as the bubbles floated around the room.

Ashton:

I tilted my head as I watched her and I couldn’t help but smile, something I didn’t do often. She was just so… Her. I jumped when I heard a throat being cleared. I looked up to see My sister standing there in the hallway with her eyebrows raised. She was wearing nice jeans, boots, and a cream colored blouse. “Bubbles.” I said by way of explanation.
