Heather-
I thought for a minute before making my way back to the kitchen, only stubbing my toe once. I opened the drawer that I barely used and stuck my hand in. My fingers closed around a single candle and I pulled it out with a smile. The matched must be in there too. It wouldn't make sense to have a candle with no matches. I reached in again and pulled out a box of matches. I fumbled with it for a second before lighting the candle and holding it up in his direction. "ha! I'm not completely useless!" I said, smiling.

Ashton:

I raised my eyebrows. “Great, we’ve been reduced to the medieval way of lighting.” I grumbled. I looked her over in the dim light. “Go get dressed.” I told her. “Let’s get out of here.”

Heather-
"Where are we gonna go?" I asked, not moving to get dressed. "You just looked outside and none of the neighbors have power either," I said, confused.

Ashton:

“To get something to eat… Unless you want crackers for dinner.” I said obviously. “Cars still work you know. They’re run on this thing called gasoline if you haven’t heard. I said sarcastically.

Heather-
I glared at him but I wasn't sure if he could see it in the dim lighting. I held out the candle. "Here then, take this. I can't hold it and change my clothes at the same time," I said.

Ashton:

I took the candle as a slow grin came to my lips. “I could hold it for you know.” I said with a smirk.

Heather-
I glared at him for the second time in about five minutes and grabbed the front of his shirt, pulling him with me to my room. "You're gonna stand here with your back turned and your eyes closed so I can change without killing myself," I said. "Is that clear?"

Ashton:

I chuckled fro about the first time since I had been here. “Alright, alright.” I said doing just as she asked. I held the candle higher so as to give her more light. “Don’t put on anything inside out.” I warned her with a smirk.

Heather-
I shook my head and sighed, not answering. I had to admit that his laugh sounded nice. I walked over to my closet to pick something out. I quickly found a pair of jeans and took off my shorts to put them on. I stripped out of the sweatshirt but finding a shirt was more difficult. "Can you come a little closer? I can't see," I asked.

Ashton:

“Backwards?” I asked incredulously. “What if I trip and set your room on fire?” My eyes were closed, but I didn’t move towards her

Heather-
I quickly covered my chest with the sweatshirt. "Fine, you can look, just come closer," I said, impatiently.

Ashton:

I turned around and made my way over to her, looking at the ground. Once I was close enough, I turned around and closed my eyes again. “This good?” I asked.

Heather-
"Yeah, that's perfect, thank you," I said. I quickly found a shirt that matched and slipped on some shoes. "Okay! I'm done!" I said, walking around to the front of him. "You can open your eyes now,"

Ashton:

I looked her over once before turning my gaze to her face. “Are you ready to leave then?” I asked her, bringing the candle up in front of us.

Heather
I nodded and ran a hand through my hair to freshen it up. "Yeah, lets get going," I said. "We can put the candle out when right before we leave," i said.

Ashton:

I went to grab my keys then lead her to the door with the candle. I blew it out and set it on the side table before opening the door for her.

Heather-
It was a little brughter outside with the moonlight but without street lights it was hard to see. I reached out and grabbed his hand. "I'm clumsy when I can see so this is gonna suck for me," i explained why i needed to hold on to him. "Wheres your car parked?"

Ashton:

I tugged her along gently. “On the street just over there.” I pointed to a dark mass. I walked her to the door before going around to the drivers side and starting it up.

Heather-
I got in the car and settled into the seat. "So where are we going?" I asked, putting my seatbelt on. "The diner?" I suggested as it was the only place around that I really knew of.

Ashton:

I shrugged. “If you want. You know this place, not me.” I flicked on the headlights and started making my way out of the neighborhood. “Directions?”

Heather-
I nodded and directed him to the diner. "That's pretty much the only place I know around here. I don't go out to eat a lot. Mostly I just order pizza or Natasha cooks," I shrugged.

Ashton:

“What would we do without my sister all the time?” I chuckled softly. I pulled up to the dinner and hopped out of the car. It looked virtually empty inside apart from maybe two tables.

Heather-

I laughed and got out of the car. "We would starve," I said, heading for the diner. It was pretty empty and the waitress sat up down immediately. I grabbed a menu and looked it over.

Ashton:

“What’s good here?” I asked as my eyes glazed over the menu. My hand found a crack in the back of the plastic cover and picked at it absently.

Heather-
"They have decent burgers. I think I just want ice cream though," I said. If I had my choice I would skip right to dessert every single day.
