Zombies! (Open)

Kate:

“I’m sorry.”  I said again.  I couldn’t imagine what he was going through.  At least before all this there was an end for him, but in this world, there was no certainty that it ever would end. 

Kate:

“It’s… Okay.”  I said softly.  “Is there anything I can do to help?”  I asked in concern.  

Kate:

I felt his hand touch mine and instinctively I turned it up to take hold of his.  I squeezed it gently, I knew sometimes you just needed to feel other people, other living people.  

Kate:

I kept his hand in mine.  It was nice.  Aiden hardly ever touched me, I knew it was out of respect, and he never had struck me as a touchy person.  But I was, I had always been very affectionate and touchy.  It felt nice to hold his hand. 

“So what is out next step?”  I asked softly.  I meant for the whole group.  

Kate:

I blinked in surprise then couldn’t help myself but laugh softly.  “Who needs to get to know each other, we could just make out.  Who knows if we’ll be around tomorrow anyway?”  I said playfully to tease him.  

Kate:

I chuckled.  “I’m sure that isn’t true.  Besides, you wouldn’t been the only rusty one.”  I said in amusement.  “There’s been no one in my life worth kissing since before Elijah was born.”  

Kate:

I let go of his hand and held Elijah with both of my arms.  “No, He’s just helping me.  He’s a good guy, we’ve been with each other for a while.  But there is nothing between us.”  I explained, a little more serious now.  As much fun as it was to play and flirt, I wasn’t sure I was ready for that, especially with someone I just met no matter how close I felt to him.  

Kate:

“No, no its okay.”  I said softly.  “It was me too.”  I admitted.  I didn’t want things to be awkward between us.  

Kate:

I looked down at Elijah even though I couldn’t see him.  “Thank you.”  I said simply.  I wiggled until I was laying on the floor again. 

Aiden:

I was awake the moment the morning light shone through the glass front of the store.  “Have you been awake this whole time?”  I asked Everett.  Both girls were still asleep.  

Kate:

I woke up when I heard the other two talking.  I sat up slowly and ran a hand through my hair.  I glanced at Everett and mentally blushed.  He was more attractive than I  had remembered him.
