Boarding School for the Mythical

I brought my eyes up to him and they gained that timeless look as I searched my memories. "Nnn....I can't remember a time..."

 

"They just have never taken this long...I'm worried that something happened..." I admitted softly as my fingers curled slightly.

Velaric:

"Do you really need them?"  I asked and this time reached for her hand and squeezed it gently.  "We can keep you safe Vivian."

"N-no...I don't need them." I stared at our hands for a long moment before I shook myself to muster up a smile. "You can open your gift now if you want."

Velaric:

I squeezed her hand again before taking the box.  I shook it gently, "I cant tell, hmm."  I opened it easily.

I chewed on my lip, watching him with a look of excitement. I had gotten him a phoenix wrap. It was a scarf that looked like it was on fire. It could be as warm as the wearer wanted it to be and could also be used to set things on fire. Things like this could only be made by a feather from a phoenix. This one had been made with one of mine.

 

I smiled shyly back and gave his own hand a squeeze. "I'm glad you like it..."

Velaric:

I wrapped it around my neck, it was warm, but not uncomfortably so. I stood up and held my hand out to her. “Let’s move on.”

I accepted his hand with a small smile. The scarf had more than one purpose. I knew who was wearing it, and could feel where they were. But I didn't need it now, with his hand in mine.

Velaric:

grabbing the trash I tossed it in the can then lead her back to the street. “Did you get enough to eat?” I asked her, holding her hand in mine.

"I'm okay. We had a big lunch earlier." I promised him.

Velaric:

The side walk was relatively empty as it was dark and cold out. We were alone except for a few stragglers. What an odd pair we must have looked like; a guy in his twenties with a young girl holding hands.

I was happy as could be, not minding the few looks we got. I liked being with him like this. A little moment, that just made life so much more interesting.
