Boarding School for the Mythical

Sphinx:

"A fan of classical?" I asked with a smile to Tabitha. "I should see if I still have an original recording from Mozart someplace."

"I cant help it, I've been a ballet dancer for the past several years.  I've been immersed in it."  I said plainly.  I had never been the one in charge while dancing, but I felt more present.

"Fair enough, I like dancers. Never had the time or willingness to learn how. Perhaps I should actually learn..." I considered for a moment and shrugged.

I looked down at my lap then out the window.  "That would thrill her."  I said quietly to the window.  I knew Sphinx saw us as the same person, but to me, we were not at all.  I had complicated feelings about my other side.

"And what would thrill you?" I asked her softly while my hand found hers on the seat. I rubbed my thumb gently into the back of her hand.

I couldn't help but squeeze his hand back impulsively.  I glanced sideways at him and opened my lips to reply but then the car pulled to a stop.  "You all stay in the car.  I'll be right back"  Velaric said then left the car.  We had pulled up in a little gravel parking lot with trees all around.

Vivian:

I was sitting up with my face practically pressed against the front window and then the passenger window as I looked with happy interest at what might be going on outside and if this was the surprise.

Sphinx:

I gave a bit of a start when the car stopped. I looked around for a moment before smiling sheepishly at Tabitha, giving her hand a squeeze.

Vivian:

I gasped and my hands came to cover my mouth as I stared at the lights and what might be deeper in. When Velaric opened the door for me I climbed down, taking his hand in mine even if he might not want too. My heart felt light and fluttery from this romantic little gesture.

Velaric:

I curled my gloved hand around Vivian's as I helped her out of the car.  I was as cold as the air around us, which was just below freezing.  "Right through here is your surprise."  I told her quietly.

I kept hold of his hand as I stood from the car. My eyes went from him to the arch with wide eyes. I couldn't even begin to guess what it was, but the lights themselves were gorgeous and I couldn't imagine how he had planned all this out.

Velaric:

I hadn't put the lights up of course, but I had paid the guy who owned the place to start it up tonight. He was a vampire like myself who preferred to go solo rather than join a coven like most others. The light park had ended the night before, but they had yet to take down the lights. I lead Vivian and the others through a light tunnel that opened up under a massive tree striped with red and white lights.

I kept my hand in Velaric's but I also hugged his arm to me with my other arm as I looked on with wide eyes and wonder. It was beautiful, and wonderful.

Velaric:

"There is a whole trail of light decorations if you'd like to see it."  I told Vivian with a pleased smile at her reaction to all this.  I was hoping that this would all make up for my earlier blunder.

I nodded shyly, sticking close to him. My cheeks had a rosy color to them but if that was from the nip in the air, or a blush I wasn't about to tell.

Velaric:

I lead her and the others through a maze of beautiful light creations.  At one point we came to a little train, I powered it on and set the course.

I kept a hold of Velaric through the entire adventure, my cheeks pink for all of it.

Velaric:

I tried not to notice the warm body snuggled against me during the entire thing.  I just wanted her to be happy, and I didn't think detaching her from me would help.  The train ride stopped in a little courtyard with a few food trailers that were closed down except for one.  "Anyone want hot chocolate?" I offered.

I shivered.  "I am I the only one freezing to death?"  I asked shakily as I breathed fog.

"Could you get us some Vel? I'll help warm Tabitha up." I gave him a shy smile as I gave him one last hug. I let go of him then to go stand beside Tabitha and be the little personal furnace that I was.

I nodded shyly with a small giggle. "It was so beautiful and romantic..." I gushed happily. I snuggled against her and closed my eyes. "I feel lots better now than I did before. But..." I opened my eyes and looked up at her. "What about you and Sphinx?" I tried looking around for him but I couldn't see him.

I looked around halfheartedly when she did. "I don't think he wants to be here with me." I said quietly. He had been nothing but nice to me, but he had been distracted and absent since we got here.

I let the aura's come into vision and I pointed to her left. "He's over there sitting on a bench with his head in his hands...but...you do know he is sick right?"

Sphinx:

I held my head in my hands, fighting the nausea and dizzyness. I had tried to walk away without drawing attention, but Tabitha sitting beside proved I hadn't been as covert as I hoped.
