Boarding School for the Mythical

Vivian:

"No one knows the Sphinx truly. You just learn parts of him, he is the worlds biggest riddle." I told Tabitha, catching the look in her eyes.

 

Sphinx:

I had actually fallen to the floor in the kitchen, shaking a little as I lay face down on the floor, but at Vel's call I forced myself to my feet and willed the shaking to go away. I was more drained than I realized but I made myself as normal as possible before I went out and joined the others with a smile on my lips.

Velaric:

I eyed Sphinx when he came in but didn’t say anything in front of the girls.  I opened the door for all of them then followed them out as I wrapped a scarf around my neck.  “Whats up?”  I asked quietly at Sphinx’s shoulder, walking with him behind the girls.

Vivian:

I talked animatedly with Tabitha, asking her all sorts of questions and generally just trying to get her to smile.

Sphinx:

"Just tired Vel, don't pay it any mind alright?" I told him with a smile.

 
 

"You would watch me anyway mate and you know it." I remarked as I watched the girls interact.

Vivian:

"Your not very chatty, is something wrong? Please tell me you aren't seeing me as a child too..." I complained. "First Vel and now you. Ugh...why do adults get to make all the rules on when you get to be an adult..."

I shook my head, "At first its kind of nice...I don't remember my past lives, I get to be my own person. But at some point it starts to flood in. And I no longer get to be me. I become The Phoenix then." I shrugged my shoulders and smiled up at her. "Just think you don't get the baby talk all the time. Or more entertaining...THE talk."

"I've gone both ways apparently. But right now I am thinking male." I admitted with a shrug. "And guys can be asses." I said with a little extra feeling directed towards a certain vampire though I kept my voice low.

Velaric:

I grimaced at their conversation knowing perfectly well that they were referring to me as the ass. It bothered me because I really had no intention of slighting Vivian.

Vivian:

"I still like him anyway. But I just wish he would avoid treating me like a child." I murmured this one, before shaking my head to disspell the thoughts.

I pushed the button when we reached the elevator and waited.  I knew Velaric could hear every word we were saying no matter how quiet.  “Like I said, you’re in a child body, hard to put that aside.”  I said softly.

I sighed softly, "Teen...I have crossed the line into teenage." I knew she was right but that didn't mean I had to like it right?

I shrugged and stepped into the elevator when the doors slid open.  "Where are we going?" I asked Vel.  "It's a surprise, I told you."  He answered.

"Not even a little hint?" I begged, turning puppy dog eyes up to Velaric. Hey if I was going to be called a kid I was going to milk the kid thing for all of its perks.

Velaric:

My lips quirked.  "Nice try."  I said with a little smile.  "Your hint is that it's going to be cold."

I poked my tongue out at him, dropping the puppy dog look instantly.

 

I flushed faintly but I climbed into the passenger seat anyway, buckling myself in and fidgeting shyly.

Sphinx:

I took a small breath through my nose and I had to rub at my nose quickly to prevent myself from sneezing. The car smelled strongly of magic. And in the awkward silence I found the source. Admist the regular sounds of breathing was a too deep, too even form of breathing coming from the front passenger seat. My eyes narrowed for a moment before I shook my head. It was something that could be dealt with later.

Velaric:


I turned on the radio and started flipping through the stations.  "Oh stop- go back to the last one."  Tabitha said from the back.  I turned back to the previous station.  It was classical.
