Perfect School

Paublo:

I grinned back and shrugged my giant shoulders. "Hey, I knew I couldn't get lucky twice." I chuckled softly and lifted the burger to my lips.

Jonah:

"It was a good match, regardless." I glanced at Kira who had gone quiet. was she really that adverse to making friends. Did she even consider me a friend? Or simply someone to tolerate because I wasn't as bad as everyone else?

I followed his gaze, "I'm just glad I got a hit in.". Kira was focusing on eating her attention on her yogurt cup as she focused on getting every bit of yogurt out. She lifted her gaze once she had the last bit out. She blinked at us, tongue poking out with the tip of the spoon against it.

Jonah:

“I think she doesn’t like the yogurt.” I commented with an amused smiled, folding my hands and resting my chin on them. I had finished my food.

Paublo:

Her eyes narrowed at Jonah but she didn't reply she simply went back to eating the rest of her food. I lifted my eyebrows at the entire exchange, surprised to see that much emotion from her. Not to mention at Jonah.

Jonah:

I grinned at Paublo for a second then stood up and grabbed my tray. "See you later." I told them both before taking my tray to the dish bin.

Kira:

I followed him with my eyes for a moment before focusing on finishing my food. I didn't even acknowledge Paublo after Jonah got up.

Jonah:

The next few days were some of the most pleasurable ones of my life. I was learning new things rapidly and enjoying every minute of it, even when it was difficult. Spending time to Kira added to it too. It was interesting to watch the subtle changes when we went to train with a teacher as opposed to her attitude when she was alone with me.

This particular evening had been the most intensive of our training sessions to date. I rarely got sore after training but I had a feeling I would be after tonight. I waited until the teacher left before laying down on the mat to let my muscles cool off. I was not used to moving that way.

I dropped down and let out a soft breath, tugging at my tank top to get some air to my chest. "I haven't done something like that since my personal training...." I murmured softly. My top, sports bra, and shorts were plastered tightly to my skin by sweat.

Jonah:

“I’ve never done something like that.” I puffed, sprawling out farther. My foot brushed her leg but I chose to leave the skin contact and let her move away if she chose to. “It felt incredible. I love this, being pushed closer to my limit.” I turned my face toward her with a happy smile.

I closed my eyes as he started talking and opened one eye for a moment when his foot touched my thigh. I closed my eye and though I didn't speak if anything I shifted to give him better contact against my skin. I didn't mind the touch, and it was a simple thing. "You will have to go through live action ones sometime. Those are even better feeling. You are pushed further to your limit, because if you fail...you could really die."

Jonah:

We stayed there on the floor for a little longer until our breathing had settled. "I think I'm going to take a dip in the pool." I said as I sat up. I looked over at her with a lazy smile. "Care to join me?"

I considered for a moment before shrugging. "Why not. Meet you at the pool in five minutes or so?" I wanted to head back to the room to grab something more appropriate to swim in.

Jonah:

I nodded. "Meet you there." I said as I got to my feet then offered a hand to help her up. I went to my own room and dressed in swim trunks.

Kira

I nodded while accepting his hand up. "Yeah." I didn't leave right away, instead I chose to stand in the empty room and just let out a quiet breath while holding my side. I had pushed hard today, harder than I had in a long time. And it was all because of him.

I shook my head to dispel any thoughts and moved off towards my room. I changed into the only thing I had, a black swimsuit with blue trim. I grabbed a towel and padded barefoot towards the pool.

Jonah:

I was already in the water when Kira made it to the pool outside. I was doing laps underwater. The pool was quite long, but I only had to come up for a breath once in the center before diving under again.

I watched him for a moment before setting my towel down beside his and moving to the edge of the pool. I waited for him to touch the wall and turn around before I dived forward, sliding into the water without a splash. I joined him in the laps, swimming ahead of him.

Jonah:

I didn’t bother to try to pass her. This wasn’t a competition. I opened my eyes underwater to watch her, there was only a slight sting due to the low level of chlorine. I enjoyed the view of her from behind.

I swam for two full laps before I surfaced and floated on my back, letting myself just relax. I loved the water, it was one of the few things I found that would always relax me and I would be drawn towards. I felt free floating in the water, no rules, no restrictions, just everything I could ever want with only one downside. Tactically...I was a deadman if attacked. But that never stopped my love of the water.

Jonah:

I floated to the top when I saw her relax. I kicked to keep myself upright for a few minutes, just watching her, before I followed her example and relaxed onto my back.

I let out a contented sigh, my entire expression and outlook relaxing. "This was a good idea..." I murmured softly though not really too him.

Jonah:

I smiled to the darkening sky. “Most of mine are.” I said, allowing myself a moment of arrogance, though I was mostly joking.

I snorted. "Don't get ahead of yourself." I replied softly though for a brief moment a ghost of a smile crossed my lips.

Jonah:

I chuckled. She knew I was clever and talented, but I was fairly sure she wasn’t yet aware of my exceptional intelligence. That was just as well and I was happy to keep it that way. The students said I was a genius, but to them they thought it was an exaggeration.

I floated for a while longer, enjoying the quiet. But eventually I slipped down into the water and swam to the edge. I climbed out slowly, giving a small stretch. "Thank you...for the idea." I called to him without looking.
