A Personal War (closed)

I changed myself into my riding clothes and stormed out, heading into the stables. I chose my stallion and prepared him for a long ride. Very long ride.

i sighed and headed for my small tent

I rode my horse out of the stables and walked him past my house quietly, and started him on a steady trot past the soldiers' tents.

i saw her trot past and grinned, horses were always my favorite animals

I stopped and looked at the tents, and spotted him. I saw him smiling and smiled a tiny bit at him.

i saw her smile slightly and my heart raced.... why is that?

I walked my horse over. "I'm not supposed to really be leaving, but if my mother comes out, tell her you didn't see me alright?" I asked. I just wanted to get away for a while.

"I think I can do that, I could do even better if i wasnt here " i grinned, the hope of riding excited me, or i think it was the thought of riding

I laughed a bit. "Then sadle up soldier."

i grinned and whistled for my horse which came trotting over, bareback always was so much more fun. i pulled myself up and got situated "shall we go?"

I laughed at that and rode my stallion forward. "Just a warning, I don't ride like women should." I said and smiled a bit.

i grinned "I noticed, no side saddle?"

"Never like it. Besides, my older brother taught me how to ride." I smiled a bit. I missed him...

"really? wh-where is he? i didn't see him last night"

I raised my eyebrows at him. "Someone sounds a little nervous..." I chuckled. "He was drafted... He didn't even want to go either..."

"like me..." i looked at the slowly passing ground

"Just like you." I nodded and picked up my pace a little.

i matched her pace "so you're family... what are they like?"

"Oh well, my little sister, she's like my life. I take her riding, bring her to the river in the woods. I care for her more than my mother does." I said and looked down. "I actually do care for her more than dhe does."

"how can you tell? is your mother that bad?"

"She cares more about making me into a lady than letting me sister grow up. I end up doing everything, and my father doesn't say a word." I sighed.

"that's..... hard.." i sighed "Can I help at all?" i cleared my throat "with taking care of your sister i mean"

I chuckled a bit. "I'd like that. She tends to get into trouble when mother has me off practicing how to be a lady. And I don't want to be one.." I muttered.

"you mean like the ladies they have up north?"

"I wouldn't know. I've never been up north." I admitted and looked over.
