Witching Season (2 person/ spot saved for Tyrial )

Alex:

I shrugged. "Hey, if it will help pass the time, why not."

Freya-
"Ok then." I said softly. Now I felt a bit nervous about singing. Yet the one strange but good things was witches aways had great sining voices, no matter what. Humans say it's to lure young children and others away and to them. I took in a breath and started to sing.
"One mischeiviuos little woodpecker.
Another day poking your holes.
Ruining the woods, tree wrecker.
The angry old forest god turned your poor beak into a poison knife.
Poor little woodpecker, your resting holes are all tainted...
Your food with toxins rife.
Touch your friends, and they will all die falling at your feet.
Oh, sad little woodpecker.
Poisonous tears, shining brightly, as they stream down your cheeks."

Alex:

I was speechless. She had an absolutely amazing voice...even though she was singing such a depressing song... I gave her a slight, grateful smile.

Freya-
When I finished I looked up at him and saw his slight smile and suddenly got embarrassed and blushed. I quickly looked down at my feet. "See, only a small sad song. Nothing more." I said softly.

Alex:

I looked down at my feet shyly. "You have a beautiful voice." I said feeling awkward and mostly just trying to fill the silence.

Freya-
I looked up at him in surprise but smiled happily at the complement. I could tell he didn't give them out much by the way he was acting right now. "You know, when giving a complement you should look at the person you're talking to." I said as I leaned down a bit to try and look at his face. "If you don't people will start to think that your feet are great because it looks like you're talking to them." I said with a small laugh.

Alex:

I blinked and blushed lightly. I looked at her face and smiled shyly. She was right of course, but still. I didn't usually compliment people, and besides, it was the truth. She had the best voice I had ever heard.

Freya-
"See, much better." I said with a warm smile. "No need to be shy now." I said a bit encouragingly.

Alex:

I gave her a more real smile at the sight of her warm one. I didn't know why I felt shy around her, at least more than I normally was. I knew why in the back of my head, but I refused to admit it or acknowledge the reasons.

Freya-
Knowing that wonderful smile was decrected at me I felt funny but it was in a good way. Even so I suddenly became nervous and, like him, looked down at my feet. "S-so, could you tell me a bit about the kingdom? Like the town that we are going to where the king lives and such. What's it like there?" I asked.

Alex:

I felt more enthusiastic about this. Since I liked to draw I was good at describing things in detail. I told her about the kingdom, the people, the castle, the city. Everything I could.

Freya-
I enjoyed listening to him. THe city sounded great with it's ups and downs, which I guess every place in the world has. I could really picture it in my mind, the way he was discribing it was so vivid. "It sounds really great. You really decribed it well." I said happily.

Alex:

"I have spent a lot of time looking at it and its people." I admitted softly a small smile coming to my lips. No one had ever seen inside of my sketchbook, and few people even knew I had one. Even fewer still were those that had seen me draw.

Freya-
"So you're an artist?" I asked curiously. Not everyone looks at things and captures all the details. I think people just make quick glances but artist are, I think, good at seeing things the way they really are and capturing it in a new way to show others. "I can see you being an artist." I said with a smile.

Alex:

I blinked in surprise looking away immediately. "Y-yeah. How did you know?" I asked wondering if I had given too much away. I didn't want people to know I was an artist because I thought my sketches were horrible. In truth I was an amazing artist but I just couldn't see my art as good.

Freya-
"Because you just said you were right now when you answered 'yeah.'" I said with a small laugh. "Though, by the way you decirbed things I could kind of put pieces together. Artist always think and see in great detail, or at least that's what I think. The way you decribed all those places were really wonderfully put." I said with a smile.

Alex:

So, now she knew, and it was my own fault...but at least I didn't have to show her my art, right? I let out a soft breath and continued walking, kind of lost in my own thoughts. I wasn't sure what to make of Freya anymore. I mean I had always heard stories of how bad whiches were. But she was nothing like the stories. She was sweet, kind, had an amazing voice, and...I had to admit beautiful.

Freya-
As we walked I noticed a root and Alex was heading strait for it. "Watch out for the root." I said but he seemed to be out of it and kind of in his own little world. I took his sleeve and gently pulled him closer to me and then away from the root as we passed it and then gently pushed him back. "You really need to watch out." I said, wondering if he was going to snap out of it.

Alex

I blinked in surprise and focused again. "Sorry, when i get on a topic in my head i tend to lose track of everything else." I gave her a slight sheepish smile before looking ahead of us. We would have to stop soon for a rest.

Freya-
I smiled a bit back at him. "It's alright. Everyone gets like that sometimes." I said with a small shrug as we kept walking.

I nodded and then looked at her, a question coming into my head. "I know very little about witches. Could you explain some more about them for me?"

Freya-
"I guess I could." I said. Though, I couldn't really think of anything to tell him. "Well, I guess when people say witches and the devil work together, it's not always true. Witches are actually really pleasent, though we are afraid of the demons that hunt us. So, some witches think that making a deal with the devil will save them, because they would be working for him, but it doesn't mean that all witches do that. If that was true, demons wouldn't be after witches in the first place." I said. "Is there really anything you want to know. I'm not to sure what to tell you." I said with a small laugh.

I considered for a moment before looking at her and asking. "Well, what is it like being a witch? I mean like around us humans. It has to be different, and awkward when you have no one around you that you care about."

"It's. . " For a moment I paused as I searched for a word "Very scary." I said softly. "At times it can be a wonderful feeling, being what I am. Though, most of the time it feels like you are in a battle and everyone is against you. Everyone is after you and you always have to watch your back." I said. "When we hide, we don't like that we are. We want people to except us, but all they will give us is fire. Though, most witches are stubborn, so we fight back....Though it only leads to more conflict." I said and looked up at him. "Depending on the life style, being a witch is different for everyone." I said.

I nodded consideringly, focusing ahead of us as i mulled it over. It made sense in a way, but it also just seemed too horrible. But i knew that human nature was to refuse and then destroy things they didnt accept. I felt bad though, how hard must her life had to be...just to survive...and be happy...
