Witching Season (2 person/ spot saved for Tyrial )

Freya-
I started to wonder if I should approch it or not even go near the child. At the end of the argument inside my head I decided to go take a closer look. I slipped my hand out of Alex's and gave him a look that said 'stay here'. I walked closer to the child and then something caught my eye. Though the trees there was bits of light streaming though and one beam of light caught onto something thin but shinny. I took a step closer and saw what I didn't want to see. The child was dead. I could see very thin but very strong strings attached to the arms and legs and even neck, making it look as though it was standing on it's own, but the light showed the truth, that this child's body was now only a puppet to use. I quickly thought of what could do this and my eyes went wide as I realized what did this. I quickly, in a panic, looked up in the trees again but didn't see them. They were hiding all to well. I quickly turned and started to run back to Alex but my foot caught in something that it didn't last time, a trap. Suddenly a gigant spider came down and I tripped over my own feet and fell with a thud.

Alex:

I didn't want her to move alone, but I obeyed. Something about all of this just felt...wrong. I put my hand on my swords hilt, looking around suspiciously. Her running caught my attention and I watched in horror as she tripped and then a spider came down. I drew my sword and took off running towards her.

Freya-
I quickly got up and then saw Alex running towards me. I wanted to tell him to run away but knew that he most likely wouldn't. I quickly turned to face the spider and looked at it with a discussed look on my face. I hated spiders, and big ones were the worst but this really took the cake. It tried to come closer but I ran from it, just trying to keep it busy while I chanted a spell and once I finished I shot light at it and it flew against the tree and died but sadly, two more came. I quickly looked at Alex and yelled, "If you're going to fight don't let them bite you or get ahold of you with their webs!" I think the rest he knew how to handle himself. I tried to go after one and left the other for him. There was usually no more than this in one area, they were pretty spread out if I remember right.

Alex:

I nodded once and jumped out of the way as the spider rushed at me. I swung my sword and hacked through one of its legs. Green liquid ran down my sword and from the severed limb. I was mesmerized by it for a moment before going onto the attack again.

Freya-
I went to attack it with a more simpler spell, and yet it moved out of the way to quickly and I missed. Suddenly something caught my eye, the child. Though, her body was laying on the ground now....I suddenly figured it out and put my attation back on the spider. Once again I did the spell and it it this time and it flew back and knocked into a tree. Once it was down I quickly had roots shoot up and stab though it. once it stopped twitching I looked back over at Alex to see if he needed any help.

Alex:

I killed the spider in a quick slash but not before he got me with one of his fangs. I was wrapping the wound and turned to face her as she finished dealing with hers.

Freya-
I looked over and saw he had been wounded. I ran over and looked up at him and then at his arm. "I"ll fix that in a moment." I said softly. "First we got to do something." I told him and then walked over where the dead girl's body was now lying on the ground. I cut the webs from the limbs and picked up the body. Again, I saw the spirit peek out from behind a tree before disappearing again. I could tell she was shy and even a bit scared. "We have to bury her body." I said to Alex. "Or she'll be wondering around forever. I think she was surprised by the death and was confused...If we bury her she might move on." I explained and found an opening spot where I used magic to have the ground cave in a bit before placing the body in. I then saw the girl standing in front of me. "Hello there." I said warmly with a small smile. "What's your name?" I asked her. "Lilly." She said hesitantly as she looked from me and then at her body. I sighed softly and started to cover up her body. "Everything's ok now. You're safe now." I told her and finished covering her body. "What's your favorite flower Lilly?" I asked her. She looked at me and smiled a bit. "I like Anemones." She said happily. I smiled and made a few grow around the grave before looking back at her. I took her hands in mine and said a spell like prayer and soon, she was gone. I stood up and sighed happily, glad I could help her cross over. I then turned and looked at Alex. "Ok, your turn. Let me see your arm." I told him.

Alex:

I felt a bit lightheaded right now, but I hid and shook my head. "I'm fine, its just a scratch." I said brushing her off. I didn't want to stay here. Blood no matter the source attracted attention from animals, and who knows what else.

Freya-
I frowned and moved back a bit. "Then lets keep moving." I said softly and kept heading the way we had before we got attacked. I had a feeling he was lying to me, but I guess he didn't want me to heal him. Maybe he didn't trust me at all....I shook my head of all these thoughts and just ignored them as best I could as we walked.

Alex:

I realized I was being stuipid, and I should probably take her advice and let her help me. But I didn't want to have to rely on her. I was supposed to be protecting her...not the other way around. I let out a soft breath and said quietly. "Wait...I'm sorry..." I held out my arm to her.

Freya-
I stopped and looked back at him, seeing he was holding his arm out for me. I couldn't help but smile a little as I took his arm gently and started to unwrap it carefully. "Are you sure you want me to heal it?" I asked him. I mean, there was a chance of it getting infected but he seemed to be strong and well so he might just be able to deal with it and it will heal, but it would be some time before it was completely healed. The reason I asked was because some people didn't even like the thought of being touched by a witch and I'm sure they didn't like being healed by one either.

Alex:

I nodded and said softly. "Yes. And I'm sorry...I was just...being proud I suppose. I am not used to having to rely on anyone."

Freya-
"Well...We'll be traveling together for a bit. I'll have to rely on you, and there will be times you'll have to rely on me. Kind of like now." I said with a small laugh as I looked from him to his wound. "I'm sure you'll get use to it. It's a nice feeling to know that you don't have to do everything on your own, and you can have someone help you when you need it." I said and then placed one hand over his wound and started to heal it. Now, healing means I take lots of my own enegry but with this wound I don't think it would harm me much, which was a good thing. The wound started to stitch itself back up and soon it was like it never even happened. "All done." I said happily and let go of him.

Alex:

I looked at the wound impressed. "Beyond the itching that happens, that is really cool!" I said earnestly.

Freya-
I was surprised but really happy. I smiled widely, "Thanks." I said happily and then looked in front of us and then back at him. "Ready to go?" I asked.

Alex:

I quickly cleaned my sword and then sheathed it nodding. "Yep, come on." I said smiling at her. I offered my hand to her, a bit shyly. I didn't know why I did, but I wanted to.

Freya-
I looked at his hand and then smiled shyly as I took it and held it tight. "Yeah, let's go. The sooner we move the sooner we can get you your king." I said and we started to walk again.

Alex:

I didn't know what to say or do, so I just kept a hold of her hand, and continued walking. I kept my eyes on the ground, trying to figure out why I was feeling so shy all of a sudden.

Freya-
I looked at him from the corner of my eye and then back at the path we were taking. He was so quiet and it made me feel even more nervous than I already was. "So...When do you think we will get to the town?" I asked softly, just wanting to break the siclence.

Alex:

"About an hour or so." I replied just as softly. I didn't know what to say, at all, so I just kept quiet. The silence was getting to me though, it felt awkward and oppressive.

Freya-
An hour, well I guess I better say something. I racked my brain for something, anything to ask or talk about and strangely the first thing that came to my head I asked out loud. "Do you know the Woodpecker song?" I asked curiously. Strange, random question, but it would break the siclence for a bit.

Alex:

I looked at her in surprise and then shook my head. "No, I don't." I admitted. I had spent more time drawing than I had anything else. So there was a lot of songs, and stories I had never heard before.

Freya-
"Really? Well I guess that's usually an answer for most humans. It's more of a witch's song in a way." I said with a small laugh. Few humans knew it, but that was only to be expected. Humans forgot things more easily than witches did.

Alex:

I smiled at her slightly. "Can I hear it then?" I asked her, suddenly curious as to what it sounded like. It sounded interesting.

Freya-
"It's just a little kid song...Kind of depressing in it's own way....Are you sure you want to hear it?" I asked. It was a short little song, nothing much really. It wasn't something a normal human kid would sing usually....Unless they had been around a witch.
