Jemma:

“It’s alright. Kat just wake up.” I said soothingly while using my power to affect her thoughts though I could only see the ones she was projecting. My power was almost similar to hers in that I could heal what went on in the mind. It took a little more concentration though and it had to be precise.

Kat:

I slowly came too, and opened my eyes. I looked around feeling exhausted as the sphere around me faded away.

Jemma:

“There, she’s alright.” I said approvingly as I stood up. “Though I think it will be another day spent in bed for you.” I told her.

Kat:

I nodded tiredly and slumped against Kai, my mind blank for once. I could feel the camera pressing against me, but I didn't care. I just wanted to be near him.

Jemma:

“Get her up, we need to get back to the house.” I said with a glance over my shoulder. Kai helped her to her feet supporting most of her weight. I picked up the child again and she nestled against me.

Kat:

My wings were out, and I was too tired to hold them in close, so they hung limply from my back.

Jemma:

Kai half carried Kat all the way back to the house while I followed behind them scanning the wood diligently. The second we walked through the door Sara was a blur with questions. “What happened? Where were you? Is she alright? Do you need help?” Kai grunted at her and took Kat to bed. Sara turned her eyes on me then gasped. “What is that?” She demanded staring at the little girl.

((Wow, I figured that to be a classic Jemma answer, not from Sara xD))

Kat:

I was practically sleepwalking as Kai took me up to bed. As I sat on the bed with his help and he pulled off my shoes I leaned down and with out thinking, or even realizing what I was doing, I kissed him briefly before curling up into a ball on the bed and slipping into a deep sleep.

((=P They were best friends for a while, something must have worn off on Sara.))

Jemma:

I scowled at her for a long moment then sighed. “I’m not sure..” I said and went over to the couch setting the child on it. She settled down easily, tilting her head to smile brightly at me. “What do you mean? Where did you get her?” Sara asked hovering behind me a little.

Kai:

I flushed crimson when she kissed me and just stared at her for several minutes before shaking my head to clear it. I pulled a blanket over Kat then went back into the living room. Thankfully both girls were too distracted by the little kid to notice my blush. “Adam said it was their daughter.” I put in for my sister’s benefit. Her jaw dropped and Jemma flushed to my surprise.

Michael:

I was on the porch and I listened in but I kept silent.

Jemma:

“Thanks for that Kai.” I said bitterly. “What, you weren’t going to tell her what happened?” He asked I whirled around to glare at him. “No I wasn’t. In fact, I wasn’t going to tell any of you, but as it happens someone was eavesdropping on me when they should have been minding their own business.” I hissed then turned back to the little girl whose eyes had grown a bit wide at my outburst. “What’s your name Sweetie?” I asked smiling kindly. She looked at me confusion showing plainly on her face. “Demi?” She answered quietly.

Michael:

I let out a soft breath not liking how this was going from what I heard.

Jemma:

“Jemma… You never-“ Kai started. “What? Had a baby? You would have been with me the whole time. Do you remember that? Because I sure as hell don’t.” I snapped with a scowl at him. “But your power..” “I don’t have that kind of control over my own mind. There is no way I could have forgotten something like this.” I gestured to the girl. “Well… Look Adam lies right? Maybe she’s not your daughter. Maybe she’s just a little girl.” Sara suggested. I sighed. “I’d love to believe that but look at her. I looked exactly like that when I was little.” Nearly, at least. I had the same brown curls and shape of the face, except her eyes were hazel-green and mine were hazel-blue. “She’s definitely genetically related to me.” Sara grimaced as she knelt next to me. “Well that’s it, maybe they created her in the lab.” Kai said. “She recognizes me, she called me mama.” I said and took a deep breath. The puzzle was hurting my head. “They can brainwash people there. I imagine it can’t be hard to convince a child who their parents are. And besides, none of us know if we can even have children. As far as I know that was never… tried….” Sara trailed off awkwardly blushing faintly.

I called from where I was sitting on the front porch. "Depends on if you were going to be designated for a breeding program. If your file had the letters br on them then you were set to be used for breeding when your older."

Jemma:

I jumped slightly when I hear his voice then covered my face with my hands. I felt a small hand touch my own and peeked through my fingers to look at the girl- Demi. She crawled from where she was to snuggle against me. Despite what she was or might be, I could help but to care for her.

Sara:

“Oh…” I said watching Jemma then going over to the door and opening it to see Michael. “Could you tell if she was.. A product of that? The child I mean.” I asked.

Michael:

I looked up at her with my green eyes. "I myself cant tell. Kat might be able to see if your energies are the same. People who are related share energies or have similar ones. Beyond that...trust your feelings, and know its easier to make a child using the DNA of people as it is for them to have two of their experiments make it themselves."

Kai:

“I bet that’s it. She’s just an experiment like the rest of us. We know some people are capable of placing false memories.” I said with a pointed glance at Jemma. “What we need to be worrying about is what we are going to do with her.”

Michael:

I closed my eyes after looking at the young girl as I rested on the floor.

Jemma:

“There’s only one way I see it. We’ve got to keep her. Regardless of who she is, I wouldn’t want her in Adam’s hands again, or at the school.” I said determinedly. Demi peered over my shoulder with interest. I turned to see she was looking at Michael, specifically his ears.

Michael:

I blinked when I felt the eyes of the child on me. I opened them and twitched my ears, wondering why she was looking at me. I shifted in place looking into her eyes.

Jemma:

“Whatever then. I don’t think it’s safe to keep something that Adam left.” Kai muttered as he moved down the hall presumably to go to Kat. “I didn’t complain when you wanted to keep your pet!” I snapped back at him. I hadn’t realized it but I was holding Demi rather protectively and she was trying to squeeze out of my arms now. I let her go reluctantly and watched as she crossed over to Michael putting her small hand on his knee and looking at him with wide eyes.

I blinked and flicked my tail, flashing a confused glance to Jemma before looking back at Demi. "Yes?" I asked her softly, trying to keep my sharp fox teeth hidden so as not to scare her.

Jemma:

She hugged him tightly making a soft almost whimpering sound. I blinked and glanced at Sara who looked equally surprised.

I blinked and looked at her in shock and surprise. I hesitated before slowly wrapping my arms around her, my eyes moving to look at Jemma as the shock stayed on my face.

Jemma:

I shook my head shrugged, eyes wide with surprise. Scooting over to them I put my hand lightly on her small back. “Demi?” I asked softly. She heaved a sigh then looked at me and reached her arms out. “Mama.” She mumbled as her arms wound around my middle. I my eyes flickered back to Michaels, utterly confused, and at a lost.
