Kai:

I flew around in circles until I found her. I landed right next to her and pulled her into my lap. “Kat? Kat wake up.” I said softly, before wrapping her in my jacket.

Sara:

“You stay here with Will, okay sweetheart?” I said kneeling down to Demi and kissing her head. “Stay with her. Don’t leave her.” I told Will seriously. I dashed off after my brother before either of them could protest.

Kat:

I heard Kai's voice and my body shied away, remembering his reaction from the last time I had been around him. I remained fairly unresponsive, the wet nearly frozen clothes clinging to my body, leaving little to the imagination. I was numb to the point where I had stopped shivering, instead occasionally a tremor would run through my body. The halo that came now when my powers were used was very dim, as my powers did what it could to protect my heart and brain from freezing.

Sara:

I fluttered down next to Kai. “What happened to her?” I asked kneeling next to him. “She’s freezing. She won’t wake up.” He said brokenly. “It’s okay. She’ll be fine.” I said as I squeezed his shoulder. “She doesn’t look fine to me.” I heard a soft voice right behind me that made my hair stand on end. My wings snapped out, “Sara no!” I felt the pausing effect that Kai often gave out. Next thing I knew he was in front of me then there were a couple deafening bangs. I screamed. Kai dropped to his knees and the tiny girl in front of him grinned before disappearing into the dark woods.

Jemma:

I forgot to flap for a second when I heard the sound of a gunshot and a scream. It was so close.. “Jemma? Jemma! Jemma!” I heard Sara’s stricken voice screech at an inhuman level. I folded my wings and dove towards the sound. My blood felt like ice in my veins. Something was clearly very wrong. I landed in the clearing where I saw three figures. One clearly Kat from the light hair. “Go help Kat.” I ordered Michael setting him down before going over to Sara and Kai. She was bent over him.. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.” She was chanting, rocking him back and forth. My stomach tightened as I dropped to my knees. My eyes adjusted to the dark and I saw nothing but black sticky wetness over Kai’s chest. I pulled him to me as my hands feathered over his neck, his wrist… nothing… “No, no, no.” I whispered my body slowly going numb. I felt like throwing up and my ears were ringing and I couldn’t feel my baby’s heart beat…

Michael:

I held onto Kat, pulling off my jacket and adding it to Kai's. I stayed silent not knowing what to say them about this. Kai was obviously either dead, dying, or was hurt bad. By their reactions...I guessed the first...but if Kai was dead, Kat certainly wouldn't last long at all.A memory popped into my head, of Kat getting an experiment stronger than what most would get. She was literally tied to Kai, cutting the tie by killing him would damage her severely.

Jemma:

I laid over him, the side of my face on his shoulder, and extended my wing to cover him. I couldn’t think or feel anything but excruciating pain. I stayed there like that for what seemed like hours but must have been only minutes. Sara’s uncontrollably sobbing broke my numb state. She sounded exactly how I felt. She needed me too.. I sat up and pulled her into my arms hugging her close. She sobbed into my chest, clinging to me… I had to do something.. I had to fix this.. I couldn’t lose him.

Sara:

I felt like I was drowning. I choked multiple times as I hung onto Jemma. And then she was pushing me away, ripping my arms off her.. “No, Jem, please, please.” I begged trying to hold her, but no one could hold Jemma if she wanted to get away. And that’s what she did. “Jemma!” I shouted after her but she just left. Gone. Like Kai. I lost it. I couldn’t control my crying, my breathing. I was shaking uncontrollably.

Michael:

I moved over and hugged Sara to me, doing what I could to comfort her. I knew Jemma was going to go do something stuipid but I couldn't leave these two. So I just held onto them, trying to warm up Kat, as well as comfort Sara.

Sara:

“I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to do.. Oh my god..” I sobbed. It was unbearable. I continued to tremble uncontrollably.

I laid Kat in sara's lap before morphing into my baby fox form and looking up at Sara as cute as possible.

Sara:

I stared at him then closed my eyes tightly, tears falling down my cheeks. I reached out and touched his silky fur. It helped clear my mind a little. “We have to get her back and- and-“ I let out a soft whimper. “He can’t just leave him here.”

Michael:

I climbed closer to her scrambling into her arms. "We wont. I promise. But I need to make sure your ok first before we do anything."

Sara:

Another sob broke through my chest. “I am not okay! I can’t be okay! My baby brother is- he…” I held my breath to keep from crying or choking again. “I only just got him back..” I whispered.

Michael:

"I know, I know." I said licking her cheek. "Jemma will think of something. Maybe Kat could help him, but we need to help her before she can be of any help."

Sara:

I looked down at Kat. “I can’t carry her.” I said quietly. I wasn’t strong enough.

Michael:

"I can carry her, but she needs help. A guy cant exactly do for her what she needs done. She needs to be put into the shower and slowly warmed up. Wearing the clothes she is will just make her cold all over again." I said softly, trying to give her a purpose.

Sara:

I nodded. “Okay.. I can do that.” I whispered numbly. “But.. You’re going to come back for him, right?”

I nodded before hopping out of her arms to shift into my travel form. I slipped myself under Kat, so she was resting on my back. I looked at her my eyes telling her to stay there before I took off running.

i felt uneasy as i stayed with the girl. "somethings happening...

Out of all of them, Demi liked Will the least, but she was scared so she crawled up into his lap and hugged him, her little ears laying flat.

Sara:

I waited with Kai, my wings stretched out to protect us both from the bitterly cold wind. I touched his face gently. He was so cold already.. The tears flowed freely, I had to wipe them away every few seconds to be able to see.

i hugged the girl back "it will e ok... i wont let anything hurt ya"

I burst into the house and dumped Kat onto Will shooting him a look that things were not ok before dashing off again to get Kai.

Demi jerked away then stared at Kat with wide eyes. She tried to follow Michael but we was already gone.

Sara:

I took my jacket off to cover the blood on his chest and huddled over him. My body heat was just about out. Not that I had much to begin with.

Michael:

I sprinted back to Sara and Kai. I shifted to my human form and motioned for Sara to go. "Kat needs you, never forget Kai's feelings for Kat. Jemma will fix this but until she does we both know Kai would want Kat taken care of." I told her softly, lifting her chin to look into my eyes as I spoke. I shifted into my travel form and curled around Kai's body protectively.

Sara:

I nodded and took off. I was back to the house in seconds. I found Will with Kat in the kitchen. “Can you help me get her into the bathroom?” I asked brokenly. My eyes were still full of tears and my face was likely blotchy from crying.

i nodded and help her get kat to where she needed to be "honey, what happemed... fill me in"
