hm weird me....hell yes (open)

I moved over and rested a hand on her back, rubbing comfortingly. I wanted to comfort her, she just seemed so fragile and that wouldn't do. My brother would have wanted her to be strong and move on.

Jemma:

I shuddered slightly, shutting my eyes tight to keep the tears from falling. “He did it because of me.” I whispered. “I’m so sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” I started shaking.

I laughed softly. "How could someone so smart be so stupid." I remarked pulling her into a hug. "Look, my brother fell for you both for your looks and your mind. Your smarter than that. Michael did it himself. Michael never liked being a burden on people, before I escaped I was watching what he was going through. I could always read my brother. Michael never once blamed you, he was losing it Jemma. The only mistake you made was listening to him. Since when have you ever done what other people told you to do? Michael was too far gone for you to save him. In a way, he saved himself and all of you from the pain it would bring if he had stayed. His mind wasn't going to get better. The holes created would stay holes, even if you tied of his fraying mind, there was nothing you could do to bring back the Michael you knew. If you left for even a day at that point he would go back to being practically mindless. He knew that and didn't want to burden you. Do you think Michael would want you this depressed?" I said softly, trying to be as soothing as possible. Michael had a better soothing presence around him, he didn't have to say a whole lot to get his meaning across. I could do that too, but it was harder, and besides I had learned to speak and use presence.

In the past few months i was trying to help pick up the slack to help take care of everyone with 26. Jemma was becoming a recluse in her room and bathroom for the most part, i guess baths calmed her down or something. I didnt blame her for her recent actions, if 26 had died i wouldnt be in the best shape either. I sighed cleaning up the living room, listening to the others around the house. Im sure Sera was getting ready to go find jemma.

Jemma:

I sighed heavily. What he said sounded compelling but… “You don’t know me. You don’t know what I can do. I could have fixed it.” I pushed him away and jumped up to my feet. No tears spilled but my eyes were still watery. “You didn’t answer my last question. Why did you find me?”

Sara:

I flitted into the living room. “It’s been a couple hours. You think I should do a couple circles to see if she’s on her way back?” I asked Will anxiously.

I stood up and put my hands in the pockets of my sweatshirt. "I found you because I was curious why my brother fell for you. In someways, you were for sure worth it. In other ways....you are rather disappointing." I said shaking my head and turning around. "Go on, the others will be missing you." I said flipping my hood back up and walking past her.

Jemma:

I made an offended sound. “Disappointing?” I demanded, finding myself following him.

I nodded. "Yeah, you dont have the fire I expected you to have. Your soft, and lets face it. You mopey is boring." I said looking at her over my shoulder. "You lost this game, maybe I'll play with you again sometime." I said stepping under the pier.

Jemma:

Boring. He called me boring. Was sour better? “I didn’t lose. I don’t want to play games with you.” I said shortly.

I stopped under the center of the pier. "If that was true, you wouldn't have followed. Especially now that you cant leave." I said as everything went dark around us. There was just nothing around us now, I stood there watching her, my eyes not bothering to look around. This was my domain, my gift over shadows let me step through them, and bring anyone in shadows with me. We were now in the shadows. Any shadow in the world was a possible place for me to come out of.

Jemma:

I gasped softly and twisted around checking everywhere around me. My wings opened on instinct. “What did you do?” I demanded turning back to Alex.

Alex:

"You followed me remember?" I said simply shaking my head. I focused and around us things started coming into view. We were a little ways from where the others were staying, but close enough that I was sure Jemma would be able to head home. "Go on now. You said you weren't going to play games with me." I said softly leaning against a tree.

Jemma:

I hesitated. For some reason, I didn’t want to leave him. Meeting him had been the most stimulating thing that had happened in over a month. Suddenly my current life did seem boring. I folded my arms.

Alex:

I smiled and shook my head at her stubbornness. "This looks better on you than moping ever did Jemma." I told her before chuckling softly. "I can wait here if you want to reassure the others to get yourself more time." I said sitting down with my back against the tree. "I could also go into fox form if you feel like sneaking me inside. Its up to you. I can switch forms just like Michael could, I just don't have the side effects. I managed to get the perfected version of it, instead of the prototype."

"I can or you can, one or the other. but yes i would go see if shes ok" i answered her with a nod

Jemma:

“I’ll come back.” I said before taking off.

Sara:

“I’ll go, I will be quicker.” I said. I kissed Will on the cheek before going out on the front porch. Jemma landed in front of me. “Oh, I was just coming to see if you were okay.” I told her. “Yeah, I’m fine. I came back for my jacket. Also I’m hungry.” She said casually. I followed her through the house while she looked for her red leather jacket, then into the kitchen. “Where were you?” I asked. “Beach. Thought I could do with a little sun.” She shrugged as she made a sandwich. “I’m going to go back. Don’t come check on me. I’ll be back with dinner later.” She stuck her sandwich in a bag with an apple and started to leave. I hugged her around the waist before she could go. “See ya.” I said softly as stepped away. She smiled slightly. “I’ll be back.” She said before going.

I waited perfectly still, not even having moved an inch from where she had left me. This was intriguing, I hadn't expected this kind of reaction at all from Jemma. I knew that she had changed from what the school had on record, but for her to be so far this way...I hadn't been ready for it. But it had played out rather well. I had been entirely truthful with her, she did look better when she had focus. Mopey didn't look good on her.

Jemma:

I landed a few feet away from Alex and sat down cross-legged. I took out my sandwich and took a bite out of it while studying him. He did look like Michael in some ways, but he also looked younger and more full of life.

I watched her back, a smile on my face, as well as a curious look. I wondered what she was thinking about, she was fascinating in so many ways. Most of which, just because she had been able to capture my brothers heart. I could see why he had fallen for her.

Jemma:

“Why’d you never come before this? Why did you never come see your brother?” I asked bluntly.

I snorted. "After you guys left, do you know how hard they cracked down on everyone? Leaving was dangerous and close to impossible. When I left they had started going for the kill over going for a capture. I managed to escape because of a single negligence." I started with an absent shrug. "You have seen my powers. The more shadows their are the easier it is, but my cell was a ten by ten by ten room. With nothing in it, only the walls, the floor, the ceiling were covered in bullet proof glass, and behind that was bright lights. No shadow existed in the room."

Jemma:

“I doubt it was negligence.” I muttered. The school didn’t often make mistakes with holding their captives. They were always looking for new experiments. Letting me go was definitely an experiment. How did we act in the real world. I had guessed as much at least. They seemed to check up on me often enough. I bet they loved what I was going through now. How far did it take to crack me. Well I hadn’t cracked yet. I was still functioning wasn’t I? I scowled.

I shook my head. "One of the panes got dirty, blocked the light. Was the most painful experience to get out." I said smiling at her, my eyes dancing.

Jemma:

“Why was it painful?” I asked while finishing my food.

Alex:

I tilted my head consideringly before moving into a squat. "Well, imagine feeling like you cant breath, like everything is being crushed. And imagine getting to feel it slowly, crawl up your body, centimeter, by centimeter. That is what I got to enjoy to get out."
