Kat:

I let out a soft purr at his nuzzling. I snuggled against him as I spoke softly. "But...we hardly ever get any time together...." I rested my head against his shoulder as one hand gripped his shirt a bit. I was fighting staying awake as it was, but still, I didn't want to sleep.

Alex:

I perked up when Sara started talking about what it was that had gotten their attention, but when Jemma silenced her I slumped a bit, feeling disappointed. I had been too curious about it I suppose, but I wanted to know!

Kai:

I rubbed her back between her shoulders. “We’ve had nothing but time together.” I said softly. It was true, I couldn’t be far from her. But it seemed like we hardly ever had time alone to just be with each other.

Jemma:

I glanced at Alex knowing he had noticed. He could probably get Sara to tell him, all I had to do was leave them alone again. Well, that wouldn’t happen. “Are you going to stay?” I asked him bluntly.

Alex:

I blinked in surprise by her abruptness. I mulled the question over in my head before answering. "I don't know. I am not Michael, I do not have the ties to you all that he had. If you all want me to stay I will stay." I kept my voice soft as I looked between the two of them.

Kat:

I purred softly, snuggling against him. "I want time alone with you as well..." I murmured to him as I nuzzled his chest and neck. I was fighting sleep at this point, but I wasn't going to be able to last long.

Jemma:

“Oh, do stay. Where else would you go?” Sara asked. I should have told him to leave. It wasn’t exactly safe to bring a newcomer into the group.. But I actually wanted him to stay. It was comforting.

Kai:

“We are alone, and together. I’ll be here when you wake up. Just rest.” I murmured against her hair.

Kat:

I was already asleep before he even finished speaking, my body relaxing against him as it wiggled closer for his warmth. My tail wrapped around to rest around him as well while I drifted deeper and deeper into dream land.

Alex:

I blinked. "Well, I had made a warm place in a park..." I said absently rubbing the back of my neck. It was true, I had found a hole in a tree big enough for me as a baby fox, and so I slept in it, lining it with leaves and my sweatshirt to keep me warm.

Jemma:

“Just stay. You can sleep on the couch.” I said with a shrug turning to pick at my plate, so I didn’t have to look at him.

Kai:

I curled up around her and purred softly.

Alex:

I blinked and nodded. It was a lot better than the hole in the park again. "Alright, thank you." I said sheepishly rubbing the back of my neck absently. In all I was very pleased. This had gone better than expected.

Kat:

I drooled onto his chest as I slept, while my face nuzzled closer to his chest.

Jemma:

“Yeah.” I said dully. “Well thanks for dinner.” I still didn’t want to look at him. I was annoyed with myself for even wanting him to stay. I just felt closer to Michael with him here. And that was wrong…

Alex:

I blinked in surprise, her tone confusing me. It wasn't....it wasn't what I expected at all. Her emotions switched so fast, it was giving me slight whiplash. I kept my eyes on her, unable to do much else. I didn't bother hiding my emotions, feeling no real need to do so.

Jemma:

Sara was suddenly right next to me dishing up another plate. “I’m going to take it to Will.” She explained with a soft smile. Nice that she remembered him, I thought snidely. She left the room and I turned around to look at Alex again. I wished I could think of him as a completely new person, that way I could kick him out and forget about it. “I’ll get you some blankets for the couch.” I muttered heading into the other room.

Alex:

I glanced at Sara, her stepping in front of me had brought me out of my thoughts, bringing my guard back up. I went to watching Jemma, nodding once at her words before closing my eyes and just thinking. I wasn't sure what I should make of my feelings, it was a jumbled mass, but it was easily put aside for later. I could spend all the time I needed sorting it out, it wouldn't be that much of a chore. I let out a soft breath, before stretching.

As I stretched my orders flashed through my head. I was mostly successful already. My orders had been simple, and surprisingly easy. I was to come here and meet up with this group, then I was to befriend them and gain their trust. I had joined up with them, trust would come with time. Who knows, maybe this would be fun. I knew if I did well, I would be aloud more free rein, maybe even become one of the few who the school willingly let free, so long as they agreed to help when needed.

Jemma:

I dragged the quilt off of my bed. I didn’t need it, I just felt safer under its weight. Less alone maybe. I had felt so alone lately… I bundled it up and made my way to the living room. Pausing at the door, I smiled softly at Kai. He felt my gaze on him and looked up. He smiled instantly at seeing me. It reminded me of when it was just the two of us. It was so much easier. Now he was with Kat, and I had to take responsibility for all of them.
“I’m glad she’s sleeping, make sure she gets enough rest okay?” I told him quietly before continuing to the living room couch. I fluffed the quilt out then flopped down onto the cushion my eyes sliding over to the kitchen door. Maybe I should just stay away from him. Let him stay here but keep the contact to as little as possible… no, that wouldn’t do because then he’d be around the others un supervised, and I wouldn’t have that.

Alex:

I stretched once more before looking into the pot. It was mostly empty so I started rummaging through the cupboards looking for tupperware. Once I had located some I quickly packaged up the leftovers, setting them in the fridge before taking the pot over to the sink. I started washing it out, and once it was clean I manuvered through the shadows to arrive at the boat. I put it away and made sure everything there was clean before going back to the house. At the house once more I looked at the small pile of dishes and shook my head in amusement before setting to work on cleaning them.

Jemma:

With a sigh, I moved to the kitchen doorway silently and watched him cleaning in the kitchen. In one way or another, I had a feeling that I would come to regret him being here. There was too much potential for disaster. He could be dangerous, he could snap, he could be a spy, he could want revenge for me losing Michael… His given reason, that he was simply curious, seemed the most likely though, especially with him being Michael’s younger brother. He might just leave once his curiosity was settled. Or he might like it here, with the rest of us.
“You know it will only stay clean for maybe the next half hour.” I commented going over to the counter close to the sink where he was washing the dishes. “Nothing here stays clean for long. It’s kind of pointless to do the work.” I watched his face while I spoke. The best way to deal with him for now was to watch him constantly and learn as much about him as I could, I figured. If he was a danger to us, I was damn sure going to find his weakness before he became a threat. I wouldn’t be played. And regardless of whether he was a threat, I would not get attached to him.

Alex:

I turned to her a soft smile on my face before going back to the dishes. "Well, it will give me something to do while I am here right?" I glanced at her occasionally as I worked. She was so different than what I had expected. My brother had good tastes, I mused as I worked. Cute didn't even begin to cover her. She was stunning, and she moved as if she both knew it and didn't know it. Getting a read on her was hard, if not impossible, but that was fine. I was patient, I wanted to learn more about her. Hands down I was attracted to her, but I wasn't going to make the first move, not yet at least. Besides that seemed slightly contradictory to Michael's memory. I knew that above all he would wish that Jemma would be happy, so could I make her happy?

Jemma:

My eyes narrowed as I watched him. I could tell enough to know when someone was thinking about me, especially a guy. I crossed my arms and leaned against the counter looking at the door and shaking my head a little so my hair fell in a curtain to hide my face from him. I regretted it slightly. For some unfathomable reason, I didn’t want to stop looking at him. It wasn’t that I was suspicious, I knew. I was comfortable with Alex because I had been comfortable with Michael. My brain was trying to merge them into one being. That was a delusion though, and I couldn’t let that continue, even if I badly wanted to. It would be so easy to close my eyes and pretend I was next to Michael…
I drew in a sharp breath to snap me out of my line of thought. I went to the cabinet and pulled out a much. “Want hot chocolate?” I asked with a sideways glance and Alex.

I looked at her in surprise, not expecting for her to actually offer me anything, ever. Especially something like hot chocolate. She wouldn't know, but hot chocolate had a special significance for me, I kept my face in check though, but I knew it would slip. I knew it would betray me once the drink was in my hands. It was a rare side of me, the tears that I had only shed once, the feelings would be overwhelming. I doubted I would do more than a few tears, but that would be enough I knew. The last drink I had shared with my sister had been the drink she proposed. It was a drink I had only rarely, for special occasions. It was just the way I viewed it. The few times I had ever drank was with my sisters last day, my first day out of the school. The first time I had gone a date. It was a rare occurrence. She didn't know, but I was willing to share in that rarity with me.

Jemma:

I stared at him for a moment. “I’ll take that as a yes?” I asked before going ahead and making a cup for each of us. I put the two cups of milk in the microwave then went to the pantry to get the chocolate mix. I had to go up on tippy-toes to reach it. Going back to the microwave, I mixed the chocolate in slowly then popped a few marshmallows in. I walked up to him slowly and held the cup out.

Alex:

I took the cup and as I predicted the mask to hide my emotions shattered, it was plain on my face. I stared into the cup before giving her a soft smile. It was genuine, and it was all me. Gently, soft, vulnerable. A smile you give to someone who means a lot to you. I couldn't help it, and the smile stayed, even as started to drink. I couldn't be happier, at this moment. And I knew that in all, I was content. I plucked a marshmallow out of the drink before I looked up to look into her eyes. The smile grew a bit bigger, as I looked, my eyes dancing.

Jemma:

I couldn’t help but smile back at him. It was impossible not to. He was beautiful in a way Michael hadn’t been, even though Michael had been attractive. I looked down into my cup to hide my thoughts. “Come on. Let’s go up onto the roof top.” I said grabbing a couple lids before I turned. With a glance over my shoulder I made my way outside, assuming he would follow me.

I blinked before nodding, following her. That smile she had given me...and the look that went along with it...unless I was mistaken...it was a good look. Or at the very least I hoped it was. Either way, I wasn't going to ask, she would tell me if she wanted to. I reasoned, as I followed her onto the roof. I looked up at the sky overhead, remembering my first time flying. It had been with her actually, and it had been freezing cold the first time. The second, she had carried me.

Jemma:

I put a lid on my cupt then stuck one on his before taking it away from him. A graceful jump and a flutter of my wings and I was up on the roof. “There is a tree at the corner of the house. I’m sure you can make it up.” I told him with a smirk, looking down. My wings stayed out for balance as I made my way up to the ridge and sat down cross-legged, waiting for Alex. I set the two cups down on the flat part and leaned back, supporting myself with my hands behind me. It was a partly cloudy night, but the moon was full, so there was plenty of light when the beam was unbroken by clouds. It was also chilly and windy, but I had my read jacket on.

I shook my head before crouching and just jumping onto the roof. I had to grab the edge to help pull myself up but I managed. I sat down next to her, looking up at the sky over head with her, my hand reaching for a cup. I didn't realize it but I had grabbed her cup, as I took a sip from it. It was a beautiful night, but very cold. Like Michael I tended to radiate warmth, so I was fine with the sweatshirt I wore. I closed my eyes letting myself relax as I leaned back to lay down, getting a better view of the sky.

Jemma:

I reached for my cup and paused when I realized he had taken it. I shrugged mentally and took his. Not like I hadn’t eaten after a hundred different kids at the school. I wasn’t concerned with germs. I sipped it slowly, letting the hot liquid warm me from the inside. HE drew my gaze when I saw him lay down out of the corner of my eyes. I took advantage of the chance to study him when he wasn’t looking at me. I noticed again how beautiful and attractive he was. I could see the differences between him and his brother as well as the striking similarities. The ears for one. The lips, except maybe his were a little fuller. His hair was darker and maybe a shade closer to red.

I felt her eyes on me but I didnt look at her, instead continueing my observation of the sky and moon overhead. The wind shifted a bit bringing out the faintest of shivers from me. It was less from being cold and more from just the shift. Jemma was now sitting down wind from me, my natural scent blowing towards her as i studied the stars trying to find constellations. I was perfectly relaxed, I felt peaceful which surprised me a little.
