Boarding School for the Mythical

"Just walking." I said softly, my voice giving my voice a slight lilt to the words, almost as if I was a bird singing. "Why are you just sitting here?"

Velaric:

I nodded to the coffee shop. My eyes trailed over her features for a moment before I looked at Sphinx and Tabitha who were laughing now for whatever reason. “You see those two?” I asked, pointing.

I looked at them, pausing as I looked at them closer. "She has something inside her, its dark but it is in control. The darkness is pierced with the good of her. The guy...hm, he is old. Very, very old. He is grey, like he is a nothing but a legend." I nodded once before looking at him. "And your deep red, the color of blood. A vampire."

Velaric:

“Not hard to spot a vampire sweetheart.” I commented, looking back at her. “I’m impressed by the other observations though. You can see auras, that’s a rare talent.” I looked her over again before reaching out and taking a strand of her vivid hair between my fingers. “I am familiar with many races, but yours is not one of them.. Unless.. You’re not a hybrid are you?” I asked doubtfully.

???:

I shook my head. "Sweetheart, what is that?" I asked looking into his eyes, searching him with my violet ones.

Velaric:

“It’s a term I use when I don’t know the name of the girl I’m speaking to, or don’t remember it. Along with darling, sugar, honey, precious, gorgeous, beautiful, angel, do you get it?” I asked with a soft smirk.

I looked at him and just blinked, still not certain what any of that meant. "My name is Vivian." I said softly, before turning when the door to the coffee shop opened. Out stepped the two the guy had been watching. The guy paused and looked at me before saying something to the girl, leading her towards me. He paused in front of me and removing his hand from hers. He bowed before me and said softly in the language of my birthplace. "Fair warmth to you, little sun." He then straightened and looked into the car. "You made an interesting friend Vel." With that he winked at the man in the car, and took the girls hand again and started walking off.

Velaric:

I stepped out of the car and watched the two of them walk off. Tabitha looked over her shoulder at me disdainfully. I scowled back at her before turning back to the girl. “Ah, Vain you said?” I asked having only barely caught her name.

Vivian:

"Vivian." I said in correction before turning my gaze back to him. "Your friend there is interesting. He knows the words of the greeting." I looked over Velaric. I wondered about this guy, and what all those words meant.

Velaric:

“He sure is. One of a kind. No one else like him.” I said a little annoyance mixed with fondness. “Which is why that girl is bad news. And why I am spying on them.”

"Maybe its best if you let him do things his way." I remarked. "Instead of forcing decisions for him." I tilted my head my eyes never leaving his. "You mean well, but a sphinx is not something so easily destroyed."

Velaric:

“He left her once. He’ll do it again. It’s just a matter of time.” I assured. “So if you’re so knowledgeable about everyone else,” I said slowly stepping up close to her and looking down into her eyes. “Care to enlighten me as to what you are?”

Vivian:

"I am a daughter of flame." I said simply, looking up at him. "A phoenix." I said with a nod. I tilted my head as I looked at him. "Is that bad?"

Velaric:

“Huh.” I rocked back on my heels. “A phoenix. No that’s not bad.. I don’t know a lot about phoenixs.” My lips quirked. “I guess now’s as good as time as any to learn.”

"Learn? Learn why?" I asked with another tilt of my head. Learning was encouraged by the monks at the monastery that I grew up in. They said knowledge was important and good.

Velaric:

“Because there are very few things to experience the older you get. And don’t like being bored.” I answered before her speech pattern sunk in. I tilted my head as I watched her. “Ah, how old are you?” I asked.

"I don't know." I said. "I do not know how long I have been alive this life cycle, and my caretakers don't celebrate birthdays." I said, looking over him. "How old are you?" I asked, still sizing him up.

Velaric:

“Ah,” I rubbed the back of my neck. “Close to eighty I think, give or take five years.” I told her. For a vampire I was fairly young.

"Don't look it. But Vampire thing right?" I asked with a tilt of my head, my eyes flicking back up to his face. From what I could tell through his clothes, he was strong, and that wasn't even counting vampire strength in him.

Velaric:

“Yes. It is unfortunately, stuck like this til the day I die…” I watched her for a moment before adding, “I’m Velaric, not sure if I said that..”

I shook my head. "Nice to meet you." I tilted my head once more. "So you fight?" I asked suddenly.

Velaric:

I blinked, not entirely sure I understood her. “Excuse me?” I asked, stepping back to lean against the car.

"I want to see you fight." I said simply motioning with my head towards a near by park.

Velaric:

“Ah, well, I don’t.” I said, crossing my arms. “Usually that doesn’t go over well for the other person. Unless of course its Sphinx in which case, well..”

"Can't be any worse than fighting an orge champion." I remarked with another shrug. I pointed to the park. "Show me."
