School of Thought

Danny:

I hurried her out to the car, grabbing my own back pack as I passed it by the door.

I followed along and once I was in the car with him I poked his cheek. "Your red."

Danny:

I grabbed her hands in both of mine and held them down. “Hush.” I said as I looked out the window of the car.

I quieted down for a moment before asking softly, "Do you really think that Nathanial will be at school? What about the others? They seemed nice, and I need to get Jin to listen to better music."

Danny:

“I’m sure they will all be there.” I told her softly as I watched out the window. “And you are unlikely to change his music taste as you are not the first one to try. Jin is Jin and he does what he likes.” I turned to her and smiled. “Much like someone else I know.” I kissed her forehead.

I blinked and shrugged my shoulders, "It's cause im right a lot. And what I do is fun."

Danny:

“What you do is often careless though.” I reminded her. “Are you going to take notes in class this time?”

"Probably..." I said quietly, "But...um...could I borrow a notebook?" I shifted in my seat awkwardly.

Danny:

“I sighed deeply and dug in my bag for a spare. I gave her a couple pencils just to make sure. “All those school supplies I got you and you just forget them at home…”

"I'm sorry..." I said taking the supplies and putting them into my backpack. I didn't look at him because I felt bad for disappointing him again.

Danny:

“Just keep track of your things, Kitty. And try to pay attention in class.” I told her then added sternly, “ And don’t steal anything, even if it’s from someone you think is imaginary.”

I nodded meekly, looking at the floor of the car. "Okay..."

Danny:

Once we arrived at the campus I helped my sister out of the car and walked her to her first class.

I felt better with Danny leading me to class. Not the least bit embarrassed to be needing someone to walk me to class. I liked being around him, he made me feel safe.

Danny:

I stopped at her classroom door. “Are you going to take notes?” I asked again, just to firmly cement the idea in her mind.

I nodded rapidly, "Of course. Are you going to take me to my next class too or..." I trailed off and frowned, unsure if I could get there on my own, but also very reluctant to be a burden to him.

Danny:

I sighed inwardly. “I’ll be in class Kitty.” I told her. “Just ask someone if you need directions.” I leaned forward and kissed her on the forehead. “You’ll do fine.”

I nodded, gave him a nervous smile then moved into class. I dashed out a second later to tackle him in a hug before going back inside for class.

Danny:

I couldn't help but grin as I walked away. She was a goof ball, but she was my goof ball, and I loved her with all my heart.

Felicia:

I sat in my seat and and pulled out my notebook and pencil, feeling better after giving Danny that last hug.

Danny:

I went to my class and sat in my usual seat in the back of the room.

~timeskip to lunch~

Felicia:

I felt proud of myself. I had taken notes in all of my classes, and I was bouncing with excitement as I waited next to the fountain for Danny. It wasn't easy to focus for that long on the classes, but I had done it!

Nathanial:

I leaned against the building watching her with a slight smile on my lips. I was waiting to see if she was meeting someone. She seemed so completely in her own world that I doubt she noticed me.

I shifted from foot to foot, looking around for my brother. A group of kids playing a game of frisbee drew my attention for a moment then I was then distracted by the sound of a band. Unfortunetly that made me not see the frisbee and its target coming for me. And so I was bumped into and knocked into the fountain.

Nathanial:

My eyes went wide as I saw her fall. It was almost in slow-motion until she splashed into the water. I strode up slowly, trying to judge her reaction.
