Boarding School for the Mythical

Velaric:

“I followed her scent. I figured she wasn’t supposed to be out on her own.” I shrugged. “Stop trying to make something out of nothing. I know you want me to have a real beating heart, but it’s just not going to happen.” I said with a crooked grin.

"Ha ha ha." I said dryly. "I also know you Vel."

Velaric:

I shrugged looking down the street to the sound of a large truck. The moving truck pulled to a stop and a short, slender girl with bright blond hair hopped out. “Hiya boys.” She said with a nod. “Got into a bit of a frenzy?” She asked picking up the body closest to her and slinging it over her shoulder easily. I shook my head silently and stepped back to let her do her work.

I raised an eye to the girl but didn't comment otherwise. If she was part of Vel's world. I wondered how she would react to meeting the vampires "Blood less."

Velaric:

She finished with the bodies and came over to me with the paperwork. “Next time do it a little more private, okay?” She said with a smile as if she was telling kids not to stay out late.

"At least two belong to the Phoenix ma'am. But I will pass along the message for you to her." I said with a polite nod.

Velaric:

She cave a confused smile before returning to her truck with a little wave to us. I sighed. “How long is she going to be a kid? And what about her handlers?” I asked Sphinx as the vampire drove off.

"Her handlers are coming. They should be in the city within an hour. And who knows. Sometimes her life is slow and it takes five years for every one. But how man days has she been gone? And she already looks like she is eight. She is reborn as a baby Vel. So this one has to be faster." I said with a shrug before patting his back. "Come on, lets get you something more than a vial of blood."

Vivian:

"Is your boyfriend and the guy who saved me going to come back too?" I asked softly, looking up at the girl as I held her hand.

Tabitha:

I glanced over my shoulder then back to the girl. “I think so. They probably have to take care of… things first though.” I told her honestly.

I nodded, "His name is Sphinx right? He looks familiar and that seems like a good name for him...is he a good person?"

Tabitha:

I smiled. “I certainly think so. He’s been nothing but good to me.” I said softly.

I smiled at that and nodded. "I'm sorry if I made you worry...you didn't seem to want me there...and so well...maybe this wouldn't have happened if I had stayed."

Tabitha:

I nodded. “You have to remember that you can’t do everything on your own. You’re too little for now.” I told her. I had never really known how to talk to kids, so I treated her like I would an adult.

I looked down unhappily. "But I took out three of them...." I mumbled, though I knew I should listen to her. She was an adult after all.

Tabitha:

“And the fourth one?” I asked holding up her arm with a meaningful look

I flushed and looked down. I didn't try to have people come after me...they did it without telling me or anything.

Tabitha:

I took her back to my apartment and sat her down at the table while I made us sandwiches. Shade had his tail curled around my leg and his paws on the cabinet doors watching the food.

I watched Shade and giggled quietly at him.

Shade flicked his ear towards the sounds the girl was making. He sauntered over to her and sniffed her. He gave several huffs to clear his nose of the smell of vampire on her.

I gave Shade an apologetic smile. "I'm sure you don't like that smell huh...I don't mind it, but I can understand. Maybe we should give him a bath the next we meet hm?" I said to Shade, holding my hands out to him.

Shade gave her a suspicious look then backed up to be under his girl in case she dropped any scraps of food, which she had been known to do.

Vivian:

My shoulders slumped a little and I traced a little bird pattern on the table. The scent of burning wood filled the air for a moment and I pulled my finger back to look over my work.

Tabitha:

I carried over two plates to the table. I grimaced when I smelled something burning. “What did you do?” I asked hurriedly before I saw the black bird drawn on the table.

"Oh sorry...I um...." I ducked my head and kicked my legs unhappily. "I'm sorry Tabitha..."

Tabitha:

I stared at the bird for another moment. “It’s not a problem.” I sat the plate down over the bird. “at least you’re a decent artist. But… Try not to burn anything else.”
