Boarding School for the Mythical

Velaric:

I covered her sleeping form with a blanket for an extra layer of warmth then, without thinking, I leaned down and gently kissed her forehead before retreating to the darkness of my own room. I locked the door behind me, even if she wanted to get in, she couldn’t.

I murmured his name after the kiss but I was too far gone to even know it happened.

Velaric:

I flopped down onto the plush feather comforter and put my arm over my face. It had been a long night, and most of it had gone pretty badly. I heaved a heavy sigh and tried to fall asleep in the pitch darkness.

Sphinx:

I was sitting in the back of the car still, smoothing a hand over Tabitha's hair, unwilling to wake her just to bring her upstairs.

Tabitha:

I came to slowly, aware that my head was in someone’s lap and they were stroking my hair. I opened my eyes in confusion. “Sphinx?” I asked, disoriented.

"Welcome back..." I murmured softly, continuing to stroke her hair.

Tabitha:

“Where are we? What happened?” I asked with a little frown realizing I was in a car I wasn’t familiar with.

"You had an incident, we are in Vel's car." I said softly, "He took Vivian upstairs but you were sleeping and I didn't want to move you."

Tabitha:

I stared at him. “What kind of incident?” I asked coolly. We were in the vampires car? Did the incident involve him? “Why aren’t we with my family? Did… Did I… Switch?”

My gaze softened. "Welcome back darling." I murmured before nodding. "Yes, I told you some information you didn't like and well...the other side of you came out. We left to be with Vivian and Vel for Christmas because the other you is not well liked by your family." I said softly.

Tabitha:

I sighed and looked away. I didn't like that he treated us the same way, that we would have left my family just because she didn't want to be there. "Was that all that happened?" I asked carefully.

"No.". I explained everything from the others fight. To the lich and his minions. I left nothing out.

Tabitha:

“Can we just go home? Is my car here?” I asked tiredly. I wanted to curl up with Shade in my own bed.

"Yeah...I'll take you home..." I murmured softly, looking away. "If you can climb out and go to your car I can drive."

Tabitha:

"I can... I think." I sat up and scooted to the door. A wave of dizziness washed over me when I got out, but it passed after a moment of holding onto the car door. I spotted my car a few rows over.

I closed my eyes and focused on retrieving her keys from where we had left them. I gave a small shudder as my powers revolted for a moment before with a sigh I opened my hands and looked at her keys.

Tabitha:

I looked over to Sphinx. "Are you okay?" I asked softly. He looked pale and he didn't seem like his usual cheery self. I had been too wrapped up in myself to notice before.

"I'm fine." I said softly after climbing out of the back of Vel's car and making my way towards hers. "Just been a long night."

Tabitha:

"Okay..." I said softly, not sure I believed him. I looped my arm through his as we walked to my car.

I unlocked her door and held it open for her. "Your carriage awaits.". I said softly.

Tabitha:

I smiled halfheartedly and slid into the seat, closing the door as I did so. I was worried now and I didn’t know what I could do for him.

I climbed into the drivers seat and started the car. I backed out of the space and started away to bring her home.

Tabitha:

The ride home didn't take long. I turned the radio one after a few minutes of silence and we didn't talk much until we got to my apartment. "Are you tired?" I asked softly.

I closed my eyes and let out a small sigh. "Yes...very much so. Though I imagine...you and I have a lot to talk about before we can get any sleep."

Tabitha:

I did, but that could wait. The first priority was to take care of him. "That's okay. We can talk in the morning." I took his hand and lead him to the bedroom. "Well, I do have one question... Where is Shade? Is he still back home with my family?" I asked, that was the only important question.
