Mythic Land (closed)

Velaric:

“I do. I like you, Rye. And traveling gets boring when I’m alone,” I said. I half smiled as I watched her considering it. “I have a small cabin right of the beach which is almost always deserted, at least on that side of the island. It’s a wonderful place to get to know a person more. Not to mention a great way to unwind and relax.”

Rye:
I smiled and listened to him describe the island and for a second, I forgot myself, imaging a world where I could just up and leave.

Then I realized I could. I had a job at a rundown book store and no friends...it was practically the perfect situation to leave. I bit my lip and thought about it for a second before I looked at him again and smiled wide. "I suppose I could use a little unwinding," I agreed.

Velaric:

I was waiting for her at the airport as the sun was only just starting to set. I sent a car to pick her up and had an attendant show her to my private lounge in the airport. I hadn’t seen her since we said goodbye the day after we had been together. We had talked on the phone some. I had been out of the state attending to business for a week, otherwise I would have taken her away for vacation that same day.

I smiled when the door opened, and she was shown into the room. “Hello Rye,” I said, standing up from my chair.

Rye:
I had a bag over my arm, stuffed with clothes. I wasn't used to traveling so I might have gone a little overboard, but I was hopeful I hadn't forgotten anything.

Velaric had been out of town on business, so I hardly talked to him since that night at his place. I was surprised how much I missed him, having only known him a short time. As soon as I saw him in his "private lounge", I shuffled over, trying not to drop my bag and stood on my tip toes to kiss his cheek.

"Hey! How have you been?" I asked, excited at the thought of the impending vacation.

Velaric:

“Fine. My business wasn’t especially exciting. But I have been looking forward to this very much,” I said with a little glint in my eyes. “Let me take that for you.” I offered out my hand for her bag. “Is this all of your luggage?” I asked. I had traveled with women who took several suitcases with them when traveling. There had also been companions who had traveled with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Rye:
I nodded and handed over the bag, thanking him. "Yeah, I think I over packed a little bit," I laughed. It was a small bag, but I had crammed a lot in it.

I turned to look at his private space. "Now... this is all very fancy," I told him, looking impressed.

Velaric:

I smirked. “I hope fancy doesn’t bother you. We aren’t exactly going to an Island shack.” I moved over to the door and knocked once for someone to come collect her bag. “Can I get you something to drink?” The lounge had a full bar and I had become rather talented as a mixer in my many years of life even when I couldn’t really enjoy it myself. I entertained often.
