Mythic Land (closed)

Rye:

When the illusionist went around the room to give a flower out to each person, I didnt realize at first that each flower was different. She handed one to Velaric and then she turned to me with a smile and held out a flower that nearly took my breath away. It was a Chocolate Cosmos orchid. The flower was mostly extinct now but I remembered them from my days in a coven. They grew right outside my window and smelled of chocolate. I lifted the flower to my nose and inhaled and was sent back to the past.

Velaric:

The illusionist took her place back at center stage. The birds she had initially conjured rejoined her in the form of her cloak again. She turned her pack to us then disintegrated into multicolored flower petals. I turned my eyes to watch Rye now as the lights slowly brightened.

Rye:
I shook my head in awe and blinked my eyes to adjust them as the lights came back on. I turned back to Velaric, practically bouncing in my seat now. "Wow. Just...wow." I said. "I had no idea something like that even existed!"

Velaric:

The audience slowly trickled out around us but I made no move to leave. “I agree. The experience is unlike any other. You should come to more shows. It is not always the same, but they are all equally delightful. I would be more than thrilled to have you as my guest.”

Rye:
I smiled and nodded at the offer. It was certainly something to keep in mind. I turned in my seat and watched people empty the room and moved to gather my things as well. "I guess we should go too," I said, standing up.

"I really dont know how to thank you for the invite." I said.

Velaric:

I stayed seated a silent for a moment, watching her gather her things. “Would you like to see the penthouse?” I offered, looking up at her face. It wasn’t in response to her sentiment of not being able to express gratitude. It was a simple offer.

Rye:
I hooked my bag over my shoulder and looked at him, hesitating for a moment. It only took me a second to decide that continuing this night wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Yeah, alright," I smiled, looking down at him. "Whats in the penthouse?" I asked.

Velaric:

“Well the view alone, is worth going up for,” I said and stood up. She was close now that I was standing but I didn’t bother to step away. Personal space wasn’t something that matters much to vampires. I was no exception. “The penthouse is my apartment when I’m in town. I own this hotel.”

Rye:
I snorted out one loud laugh and then looked around, embarrassed. "You own the hotel?" I asked. "And you're only just bringing that up, now?" I laughed again and shook my head. "Alright, Mr. Big Shot, lets see the penthouse." I said.

Velaric:

My lips curled into a smile. I put my hand lightly on her back to lead her out of the room. “I don’t tend to lead with that kind of information. It draws the wrong sort,” I murmured to her on the way to the elevator. At this point in my life, people who were attracted to me because of my money were of little interest. It wasn’t enough for me anymore.

Rye:
I leaned against the back wall of the elevator and felt the lift start to rise. "I guess that's smart." I smiled and looked at him. "But you really don't know me that well. Maybe I'm the type to take advantage," I said.

Velaric:

I opened a door to a key pad under the elevator floor button and keyed in a code so it would go past the highest available floor to the penthouse. I looked over at her when it started to rise. “You could try,” I said. I tried to read her eyes for signs that she was still under the influence of the silver flower liqueur. “You wouldn’t get very far though. I am not an easy mark.”

Rye:
"Well luckily its neither here or there," I said, meeting his gaze. "I don't care about your money. I was more impressed at the show, hope you're not too offended," I joked. I still felt a little off from the drink, but I was totally in control. Everything just felt slightly elevated...like I was seeing in HD.

Velaric:

“I’m not. If you hadn’t been impressed by the show I would have sent you home at the end rather than invite you up,” I said. The lift came to a stop and a soft bell dinged. The doors opened into a small room with opaque glass walls hinting at a larger room beyond. I moved to another keypad and thumbed in a code.

Rye:
I was about to respond, but the words died on my throat when the doors opened. I could tell I was only getting a preview of the whole place but I could tell it was...very nice. I took a step off the elevator and looked around. "Well I'm glad I passed the test. This is really nice," I complimented him. It wasn't just the size, it was decorated wonderfully.

Velaric:

I opened the door and held it for her. One whole wall was a window that looked out over the city. The furniture was mostly white or gray with accents of dark red. Her footsteps clicked on the tile floor. Mine were more muffled as I followed in behind her, looking out over the city of sparkling lights.

Rye:
"This is amazing..." I said, looking around. "Gosh, if I lived here, I'd never leave," I said, stroking my hand along the back of a plushy leather couch. I made my way over the window to get a look at the view he was talking about, learning it was just as amazing as he had led on.

"Holy crap..."

Velaric:

I joined her by the window. I let her observe it in silence for a moment then started to point out buildings in the city, particularly older ones, explaining what they were. I chose cities with a rich history, not just for humans but magical creatures as well. Nothing was associated with vampires, however.

Rye:
I let my eyes follow his hand movements and points. He seemed to know a lot about the architecture surrounding his building and again, I was impressed. "Is there anything you dont know?" I asked with a playful smile.

Velaric:

I smirked. “If you asked my friend Sphinx he would tell you I knew almost nothing,” I said, turning to look at her. The young were so easily impressed. I took a step closer to her and caught a stray strand of her hair between to fingers. “I’m sure you know far more about spell craft than I do, for example,” I said, only a few inches away from her, looking down at her face.

Rye:
I looked back up at him and nodded slowly. "Yeah, I probably do," I said. I had meant for it to sound sarcastic and playful, but it ended up as almost a whisper. I couldn't help it when he was that close, when he was touching my hair...looking at me so closely.

Velaric:

I let the strand go and brushed my fingers lightly over her neck as I moved my hand to lift her chin. I leaned in. Only a couple of inches between our lips. I paused, giving her time to object if she were so inclined. My eyes were open, looking into her face.

Rye:
All I could hear was my own breath, slightly sped up. I looked from his eyes down to his lips and thought for a moment that this wasn't like me. I wasn't the kind of girl to go to a strangers apartment. I wasn't the type to kiss mysterious men in penthouses.

It seemed today was a day of firsts.

I slid one hand to his chest to grab the front of his shirt, gently pulling him down as I stood up on my tip toes to press my lips to him.

Velaric:

I let out a small chuckle at her eagerness before my lips met hers. My hand on her chin moved around behind her neck. My other settled at her waist. She was soft and warm. Suddenly more enticing than before. She smelled and tasted almost like the flower the illusionist had given her which had now disappeared.

Rye:
I parted my lips with his and moved my hands from the front of his shirt to around his neck. I couldn't remember the last time a kiss had felt so good. Had it ever?

He felt pleasantly cold. Like a cool breeze on a summer day. I pulled him closer.
