A Personal War (closed)

I was too afraid to turn around, so I buried my face in her shoulder. "You've got what you came for. You can leave and get off my property." father calmly said and I looked up, blinking tears away.

a commander stepped forward "we will not leave until we have resupplied and are ready to, while we are here we are your guest and hope to be treated accordingly"

I handed Olivia to mother and turned around. "Guest." I muttered and wiped my eyes walking next to my father. "If you're a guest, then why have to just ruined my family? Without them, we're going to go hungry, lose out home, our horses. And you think you did something good!" I yelled at him, furious.

i glanced at the ground, a tear rolled down my face and into my horses fur, i was glad she hadnt looked at me

"You are all nothing but sick, power hungry animals! You're no better than the wolves." I spat in their direction and walked forward to their general. "I hope you finally understnad what you have just done to innocent people. My father may think otherwise, but I will not have you in my home."

i pushed forward "If it makes anything better I volunteer to stay after the rest of the forces have left to make sure this family's plantation remains strong" I was talking to my commander but I hoped that I was conveying the message to the young woman that I was on her side in this arguement

I turned and felt my face go pale. It was him! It took all my will power not to scream his name, and I didn't. My father stepped forward and palced a hand on my shoulder, I knew to keep quiet now. This was no matter to get myself involved in. Not this time.

i waited for the commander to think it through "fair enough, you shall remain here and return this place to it's former glory, after we leave"

I let my breath out and smiled a tiny bit. He did this, for my family. I frowned and looked up at my father when his grip tightened. "Union soldier on my land.." he muttered and turned, stomping back inside. I heard my mother's feet follow, and I dind't move.

i looked at the ground and walked back to my position

I looked at him, and back at him commander. "Thank you sir." I said and gave a small curtsy. I didn't take back what I said before, because I meant it. All the way.

after a bit we disperesed and set our camp on the property

I glanced back at the door and ran over, stopping before him. "You didn't have to do that."

i looked at her and smiled "I'd rather avoid the violence anyway...."

"I rather avoid all of this. But looks like I can't now." I said and looked down. I was about to say something else and I heard my name. "Oh, I should go inside."

i nodded "see you later"

I gave a small smile and nodded, turning away and running inside. I paused and turned around for a moment. "Thank you Nikoli." I said and closed the door behind me.

i went back to my tent and layed down

I went straight upstairs and closed my window and my curtains, climbing into bed. Well, today wasn't the best, nor the worst I've had so far...

i stare at the canvas material and slowly drift away

When I woke up in the morning, I soon realized that I would have no help to wash my hair, no help to get me my bath. I would be doing it, by myself. I groaned and got out of bed, quietly placing my robe on and slipping oast my parents' rooms, down the stairs and going out to the barn.

i hadnt slept well. in the middle of the night i had gone out and explored the grounds finally resting in the barn where i had dozed of and now stirred slightly

I heard something rusting in the hay and I jumped back. That didn't sound like a horse to me. "Hello?" I quietly called. "Who's there?"

i opened my eyes and tried to remember where I was. I sat up and rubbed my head and blinking sleep out of my eyes

I remembered last night and frowned. "You soldiers better stay out of my barn. These horses still belong to me." I said sternly and walked further in.
