Jemma:

I heaved in a deep breath. Considering everything that had happened, this seemed completely normal. I was barely even surprised. “Why?” I demanded bitterly.

kat:

"Because Mic...Shade is trying to save us." I said softly. I rubbed my temples at the rush of information going through my head.

Jemma:

“What does that mean? Kat give me information, or I swear..” I said gripping the edge of the counter tightly.

Kat:

"Michael has been in stasis for 23 years Jemma. The one you know as Michael his real name is Shade. He is...a friend."

Jemma:

“What. Does. That. Mean?” I demanded through my teeth.

Kat:

"That he is going to take on the entire school on his own." I said simply.

Jemma:

My lips parted in surprise. “But he can’t. Thant not even possible. They’ll kill him.”

Kat:

"With Shades power....not exactly impossible...Shade absorbs powers used near him. He copies it and can use it for a while. One reason powers dont work on him." I explained softly.

Jemma:

I grimaced. “So.. Does that mean he is taking out experiments as well..?”

Kat:

"Depends...if they get in his way sure." I responded carefully.

Jemma:

I felt sick. I knew people who were still at the school.. “So then.. He’s not Michael? The Michael I knew?” I asked, the loss tugging on my heart.

Kat

"He is the only michael you know. Shades life has sucked, he was focibly injected with the real michaels dna. The rest of us, we have no problem holding our forms. All five of them. No side effects, nothing. You saw what it was doing to him. And that was just with two forms. The pill if he took it will help steady his dna but if he uses other forms i dont know if he can hold onto his sanity." I said softly.

Jemma:

I stared at the tile. “Well what can be done? I already know I can’t do anything. I haven’t been topped like that by anyone except-“ I stopped and shook my head wishing I hadn’t made the comparison.

Kat

"You know...i can sever your link to adam....you shouldnt sell yourself short, shadel really did care and like you a lot. I cant remove your attachment to people but their control i can." I said watchingvher.

Jemma:

I shook my head and leaned against the counter looking up at the ceiling. “It’s not the same thing that you have, Kat. I was made for him. It’s not a link, it’s a bond, it can only be broken if one of us dies and even then the other one might not survive it.” I closed my eyes. “It’s not supposed to be like this, we were supposed to have the same amount of control. Theoretically I should be able to do everything he can. That’s how it used to be. But they pushed us both too far, I got out before they could do so much damage…. but.. I wasn’t there to keep them from continuing with Adam..” I felt my eyes sting and kept them closed knowing tears would flow out if I didn’t.

Kat

Ivwalked up to her and punched her in the face calmly. "What happened to you. What happened to your confidence. What happened to you never wanting to give up huh?" I asked as i started filling her full of energy focusng n the bond she shared with adam. If she pushed at it, she could open it and do what he could to her. And if i continued, she could over power him.

Jemma:

“Stop it! Stop it!” I yelled at her pushing her away. “I don’t want that.” I gasped my hand clutching at my heart.

Kat

"Break the hold then, or seal it up. You think your the first that has to have delt with this? What do you think destroyed kiaras body." I said rightvbefore i felt kiara slip into control.

Kiara

"Jemma if you couldcwould you break that bond?" I asked softly.

Jemma:

I looked at the ground.  "I can't."  I said quietly.  I wanted to and yet..  Part of me was holding on, the part that didn't want her help at all.  I shook my head and said through my teeth, "I don't want to talk about Adam.  We have more pressing matters on our hands."

Kiara:

I didn't respond but let Kat take control again and just observing Jemma while Kat lessened the energy gradually. I knew if Kat stopped at once then the power vacuum would force Jemma to use the bonds link.

Jemma:

I let out a frustrated breath and turned back to the fridge. “ Here, chop these.” I said shoving some vegetables in front of her.

Kat:

I blinked and took the vegetables and began cutting them, feeling awkward now. I wasn't sure what to say or do at this point.

Jemma:

I pulled out a pan and poured water into it then set it on the stove to boil. “Is the nothing that can be done to help Michael? Or Shade, or whatever the hell his name supposedly really is.” I asked after several minutes of silence.

Kat

I shrugged. "Im not sure. And...I think Michael loved you..." i said the last two words at a whisper.

Jemma:

I was in the middle of taking pasta out of the pantry when she said that. I froze then breathed slowly in and out. I shook my head and dumped the pasta in the water. “I don’t think so Kat.” I said with a sigh.
