Boarding School for the Mythical

Tabitha:

“So you don’t know what about me makes you curious?” I asked with a smile, leaning toward him once again.

Sphinx:

I shook my head. "Not a clue, I just feel that I want to get to know you much better, to be closer to you." I opened my mouth struggling with words on how to describe what was going on in my head and heart.

Tabitha:

I smiled brightly. If I was one of the few that actually captured his attention, then that meant I had a chance right? Or did that mean he just wanted to be close, like family close…

Sphinx:

"I could compare it to how I feel about Velaric, but he is like an older brother to me. He has been there to see me at my best and worst. He is the only family I feel I have...how I feel inside about him is different than how I feel about you...yours seems...sweeter?" I continued to struggle with my words on how to describe it.

Tabitha:

“Well that makes sense, since I’m alive and he’s not..” I said looking at the coffee table. I had meat Velaric the other night. I still didn’t like vampires at all. But Velaric did seem to be a little more human and civilized than any other vamp I had met. He still creeped me out though.

Sphinx:

"Hey, just because someone is dead doesn't mean they aren't fun. Jeff was pretty cool, as long as you got past the glowy, spectral form." I said absently, my eyes getting lost in my memories.

Tabitha:

“Just how many undead have you known?” I asked crossing my arms to hide the goose bumps.

Sphinx:

"That depends, am I supposed to count my visit to the isle of the damned? Because no one is really alive that lives there..." I said rubbing the back of my neck. I turned to look at her, my eyes running over her facial features. I blurted out to her. "Why do you make me always feel so funny inside."

Tabitha:

I gave a soft laugh. “I could ask you the same thing.” I muttered.

Sphinx:

I looked down in my lap. "Its not something I have felt before, I did a horrible job describing it...I mean you make me curious about you, and your so breathtaking and captivating...but what it means I dont even know." I said rubbing the back of my neck before looking up at her, noting how close we were.

Tabitha:

I stared into his eyes, his words blurring together. I gasped and jumped when there was a loud clap of thunder and a bright flash of light outside the window. And then the room was bathed in darkness.

I blinked my eyes taking a bit to adjust to the darkness. "Are you ok tabitha?" I asked looking around. A power outage, man that was some storm going on. I turned to look at her, wanting to make sure she was ok.

Tabitha:

“Yeah.” I breathed. Shade jumped up into my lap and dropped something. I picked it up and clicked a button on the side. It was my phone. I could barely see by the dim light it emitted, but it was better than nothing. “Let me see if I have a flash light.” I said as I got up going over to the closet.

Sphinx:

I closed my eyes and waved my hand a ball of light bursting into being. I got up and let my hand drop the ball moving to hover at my shoulder It imitted a soft light, much the same as looking at a candle, but was bright enough to light the room much as a lantern would.

Tabitha:

I looked over my shoulder and shielded my eyes while they adjusted to the light. “Or that works.” I said going back over to him.

Sphinx:

"I have picked up a few tricks over the years." I said modestly, noting that she wasn't as close this time as before.

Tabitha:

I sat down and tucked my legs underneath me. “Is it hard to do that?” I asked.

Sphinx:

"To learn? It depends on the person. But energy wise not really. Sphinx's have the power over creation. We can create and destroy pretty much at will just about anything. Somethings are harder to destroy and create though." I said smiling as I rested on the couch.

Tabitha:

“So, theoretically, you could create your own little world?” I asked leaning my head on the back of the couch as I watched him. “Like a God?”

Sphinx:

I nodded. "Its possible but would take a long, long, long time and the amount of energy that would take..." I whistled softly and shook my head.

Tabitha:

“So you are kind of like a god then? Or you could be?” I asked with an admiring smile.

Sphinx:

I nodded slowly. "Maybe, if I wanted to be. Except some of the gods I have met aren't very strong at all, its rather disappointing."

Tabitha:

“Really?” I asked with a curious smile. “How many Gods have you met? What were they like?”

Sphinx:

"Arrogant mostly. Although some were pretty cool. Gods are different from me, I could do what they can, but they have a lot more practice at it. Plus they have such a presence that I dont have." I said stretching. As I stretched the shirt I was borrowing popped a bit, protesting the movements.
