hm weird me....hell yes (open)

Alex:

I woke up more at the presence of someone near by than by any real noise. I sat up and rubbed at my eyes sleepily before slipping out from under the blanket. I was in the pants I had worn before, and a form fitting shirt that I had been wearing under the sweatshirt. I padded into the kitchen, my eyes seeing someone but I was far to sleepy still to make out who it was.

Jemma:

I turned slowly to see who had come in. I paused at the sight of Alex then refilled my glass of water and set it on the counter. My state of dress only barely registered in my mind. I hardly cared any way, far more people had seen me in far less. Besides he himself had seen me in less when we had gone swimming. I dug around in a cabinet with my back to him. “What do you want?” I asked, meaning why was he awake and in the kitchen.

Alex:

"Heard someone, wondered if I could help." I said my voice slurred by sleep. The last person to be close to me when I had spoken in such a voice had called it cute. I sat down on the floor putting my back against a wall as I closed my eyes.

Jemma:

“I don’t need help.” I said shortly as I grasped the bottle I was looking for. I turned to look at him, the bottle held loosely in my hand. My eyes studied him for a long moment. “Go back to sleep Alex.” I said a little softer than my tone had been before. I shook to round, white pills into my hand, popped them in my mouth, and washed them down with the glass of water.

Alex.

"Not untill you go first." I responded yawning at her. I was still trying to wake up, so I could provide better company at this late hour. It took a moment but I eventually got to my feet, moving over to stand next to her as I grabbed a glass to fill with water myself.

Jemma:

I crossed my arms away from him and narrowed my eyes. “Why? Why won’t you go before me?” I demanded sharply, my eyes scrutinizing him. My dreams were plying back in my mind. Making me think maybe I had been too quick to trust him.

Alex:

I yawned and shook my head. "Cause...d'okay." I said flopping down onto my side right there. I curled into a ball, mumbling sleepily while hugging my tail. I was comfy, and didn't want to move even if it was cold here.

Jemma:

I blinked in surprise then knelt down, my expression softening. “Go back to the couch Alex.” I said quietly, watching him carefully.

Alex:

"Nu...comfy...." I mumbled out, curling up more into a ball. I mumbled something that was complete gibberish, and curled up more. I rolled a little onto my back, my legs staying sideways, even as I curled up again, my back now on the floor.

Jemma:

I rocked on my heels a little as I watched him. “You’re going to freeze..” I warned him as I stood up slowly.

I groaned softly, and rocked to my hands and knee's. I crawled towards the couch, before curling up on it, the covers on the floor. I mumbled again sleepily towards her. "Night Jemma." I yawned cutely at her before closing my eyes.

Jemma:

I swooped down to gather the blankets then tossed them over him. I tucked the blankets in a little, my hand lingering I his back, before I turned to head down the hall. I crawled into bed but I was wide awake. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, and some times Michael.

I mumbled her name again softly while she was still in hearing range, but I fell asleep quickly. I actually dreamed of her, a surprise for me. But a pleasent one.

Jemma:

I awoke early in the morning after having only just fallen asleep shortly before the sun came up. There was a very soft tapping at the door, then it opened and I heard light footsteps come in and something heavy flop down onto the foor of my bed. “Gehawaa.” I mumbled with my head under my pillow. “Jem, why is there a guy asleep on the couch?” Kai asked, his tone was mixed with curiosity and suspicion. I peaked at him from under my pillow. “Where’s Kat?” I asked instead of answering his question. He made an impatient noise but told me that she was still sleeping.

Kat:

I was half asleep, but certainly not awake. I continued to lay there, missing Kai's warmth but under the blankets so I wasn't cold. Either way, I wasn't going to move. Not unless I had some insentive.

Alex:

I continued to sleep, still curled into a ball, with the blanket pulled completly over me. I was warm, and content.

Jemma:

I reached for my robe and pulled it on before sliding out of the bed. “He’s Michael’s brother.” I told Kai. I watched him blink in surprise, then suspicion set in his green eyes. He had learned to be that way from me, but he seemed to be more wary than me. And he was certainly less gifted an actor, he didn’t even try to be another way than he was. “How’d he get to be on our couch?” He asked slowly. “I brought him here..” I answered looking away. It was intensely irritating, but Kai was more reasonable that I was, more practical. I only had to look at him to know I’d done something silly, he never called me out on it, but we always both knew. I would pretend like I was right, and he would go along with it because he trusted me. Maybe it hadn’t been the best idea to bring home a guy I had only just met and let him sleep on the couch unsupervised…

Alex:

I started to stir a little bit and soon was awake. I stretched and peeked my head out, looking around sleepily. I slipped out of the blankets before heading over to the kitchen. I got a glass of water and chugged it before looking around. I could hear someone, but I wasn't sure who over towards the bedrooms. But deciding that most were probably still asleep I opened the fridge and started to gather things together to make pancakes.

Jemma:

I pulled on a pair of black shorts noting how my pink, slightly sunburned skin had turned lightly golden. “Aren’t you supposed to be in constant contact with Kat?” I asked and I changed my shirt with my back to him. “I can be twenty feet from her, Jem, its fine. I could probably be a mile from her and still live. I haven’t tested it that far.” He answered with a shrug, following me out of the room once I was dressed. I paused when I reached the couch and saw that it only held slept on blankets. “In the kitchen.” Kai muttered, nodding that way. I pushed through the kitchen door and went over to the counter next to the stove. “What are you making?” I asked Alex. My eyes racked over his hands and what he was doing before I looked up to him face.

Kai:

I followed Jemma into the kitchen but settled in by the wall watching the two of them without doing anything noticeable. I trusted Jemma, and her decisions, but she hadn’t been the same since Michael had died and Demi had left. Maybe her judgment had been skewed a little.

Alex:

I gave her a small smile, before gesturing at the materials. "Pancakes." I said easily before noticing someone else was in the room. I turned and gave a small wave to him. "Hi, my name is Alex."

Jemma:

I looked back at Kai. He nodded slightly to Alex before moving to my side. He was nearly as tall as me now, I noticed with a little twinge. “This is Kai, he’s…” I trialed off unable to find a word to describe what Kai was to me. Son, brother, and closest friend all rolled into one. He put his arms around my waist in a loose hug as if he knew what I meant. “He has been with me since I left the school, we escaped together.” I told Alex instead of what I’d meant to say. “You stole me. I was barely more than a baby.” He murmured to me with a hint of a smile, resting his head on my shoulder. “Five years old isn’t a baby, and you were far more developed than a purely human child.” I smiled at him. I had certainly developed faster than a human girl, and most of the hybrids in the school. I was fully matured at eight years old, even if I had still been ignorant of most things.

Alex:

I smiled and started mixing things together as I listened and watched them. "I'm jealous, I have never had someone like that before." I said cheerfully as started stirring the mix. In all, this was relaxing for me, being able to listen to others stories.

Jemma:

“Most didn’t.” Kai said looking up at me but it was in answer to Alex. “But it wasn’t all great. Jem was a terrible homemaker.” Kai said with a smirk and dogged away from me before I could pinch his arm.

Alex:

I laughed softly, my eyes dancing as I watched them. They had a good relationship, something that I was sure a lot of people would envy. Though I was starting to learn why Michael had joined them. It was growing more apparent, each little thing they did helped.

Jemma:

“You’re better now! Promise.” Kai assured me as I swatted the back of his head. He chuckled and went to the dishwasher because none of ever managed to get around to putting dishes away. “Shall I set the table?” He asked with the sweetest of smiles. I rolled my eyes but nodded. My eyes slid back over to Alex without meaning to. My smile was softened like it hardly ever was for anyone but Kai.

Alex:

I brushed a hand against my cheek to quell an itch then went back to mixing, a small smear of batter now on my cheek. Unknown to me, it was a common trait for Kat to leave such things on herself.
