Boarding School for the Mythical

I chuckled softly. "Fine fine, you managed to get a female cat to fall in love with you because you stabbed a mouse and gave it to it." I said shaking my head. I couldn't help but think of Tabitha, trying to lock the memories of her in my mind so that I could record them into the journal.

Velaric:

“Why don’t you go lay down in my room? You’ve had a long night it seems…” I offered glancing at him sideways.

Sphinx:

I shrugged again and closed my eyes. "I'm comfortable here." i said simply but didn't add that part of me hoped Tabitha would come...and I wanted to be close enough to hear if she did.

Velaric:

“Are you going to try to sleep at all?” I asked skeptically.

Sphinx:

"If you keep talking no. Besides this is your bedtime not mine, after all I am not a creature of the night." I countered a smile on my lips.

Velaric:

“But you didn’t sleep, and we are going to be traveling during the night.” I said and crossed my arms loosely. “Go lie down Sphinx.”

I waved him off and relaxed on the couch, curling up into a ball as I let myself relax more and more, my body giving in to sleep. It was easier than I thought it was, even with my mind swirling with thoughts, my body was just too tired.

Velaric:

I finally drifted off once I was sure he was asleep.

Tabitha:

I sat curled up on the couch with shade nestled in my lap. I was mad at both my sister and brother. They wouldn’t tell me what was going on, though they clearly knew. And they had locked Shade away. I had Sphinx’s note folded in my hand. He was leaving. And I wasn’t going to be able to say goodbye because my family was watching me like a hawk.

Sphinx:

I didn't dream which was unusual for me and I tossed and turned a lot during the time I did sleep.

Tabitha:

I finally asked them if I could go, just to say goodbye. Dory wasn’t having it but Ari considered it. I had to show him the note before he agreed to go with me. I absolutely wasn’t allowed to do anything alone. Dory came along silently brooding with anger at both of us. I knocked on Sphinx’s door hoping it wasn’t too late.

I woke up deciding I could make us something to eat before we left, besides the food would just go to waste otherwise. I entered the kitchen and started pulling things out to make as much food as I could.

Tabitha:

I chewed on my lip before going over to Velaric’s door. If he hadn’t left yet, that’s where he’d be. I knocked timidly.

Velaric:

My eyes slid open at the sound of someone knocking at the door.

Sphinx:

I blinked at someone knocking at the door. I hesitated before heading over slowly. Maybe it was Velaric's old flame, I thought with amusement as I put my hand on the door knob.

Velaric:

I groaned, softly. I could smell her blood. I wish she had just stayed away, it would be easier for Sphinx. I stayed where I was, watching.

Tabitha:

I waited hoping they hadn’t gone yet. Dory and Ari stood behind me.

Sphinx:

I opened the door, an amused expression on my face, ready and expecting to see his fey ex. The amusement died on my face as I stopped and froze, shock on my face as I looked into the eyes of Tabitha. Guilt and....elation? ran through me at once as I just stood there.

Tabitha:

I blinked up at him. “You’re leaving? I asked, wide eyed, fidgeting with my hands in front of me.

Sphinx:

I looked at her family behind her before looking at her. "Lets take a walk." I said softly. I stepped past her and her family. I moved out to the park, and sat down on a bench looking up at the sky overhead.

Tabitha:

I waved off Ari and Dory and followed Sphinx. I stood in front of him rather than joining him on the bench.

I looked over where her family was standing off and watching us. "I'm sorry." I began. "You deserve better than just a note, but Velaric thought it was for the best. You have something inside you, and either you know it but never tell anyone or your family siblings know and they never told you. Either way its dangerous. But that doesn't bother me, no, what bothers me is that your family doesn't like me. I have never had a family, they never took care of me. I saw my brother across the grand canyon once, he waved to me before vanishing. Your family doesn't approve of me, or doesn't like me. I am not willing to jepordize your relationship with them, ever." I said never looking at her. "I dont know what I feel about you, its a jumbled mess, one that I have no clue how to sort through or how I am going to ever figure out what it all means." I let out a soft breath before looking up at her. "I'm immortal Tabitha, watching someone grow old that you care about sucks."

Tabitha:

My blood chilled when he said I was dangerous, or part of me was. I didn’t know that. “My family is just reserved. They’re worried about me. That’s all.” I argued. I sat down next to him. “I don’t want you to leave because of me.” I whispered looking down at my lap.

Sphinx:

Out of my pocket I pulled the article Velaric had found. "I'm leaving one way or the other...I wish I could stay..." I said unsure myself whether I meant with her or at the school. Either way I knew that leaving was going to suck. I got to my feet as I gestured at the article. "You are going to have a lot to ask your siblings."

Tabitha:

I looked the article over then looked up at him. Everything was so confusing. And I had so many things to figure out. “Will I see you again?” I asked quietly.

Sphinx:

"I dont know. Velaric and I are going north to Alaska." I said quietly. I looked at her, shifting in place with an air of uncertainty. I didn't know what to do about this. I struggled for a little bit before settling on an answer. "I will see you again someday Tabitha...I promise you. I may be making a big mistake, you might be married by the time I see you again. But I will still drop by to say hi. I know you will make the right choice." I said putting my hands on her shoulders as I leaned forward towards her. I nearly kissed her before I thought better of it and pressed my lips to her forehead as I whispered softly in my own language. "You are my friend and my beloved, and I will never forget you." With that I embraced her fiercely and then let go before taking off running.

Tabitha:

I sighed heavily and just stayed there. I tried to read the article but my eyes were blurry. I wiped tears off my cheeks and tried again. Dory came to sit next to me. Shock and gilt passed over her face when she saw what I was holding. I turned to her for explanation.

Sphinx:

I went to Velaric's room and grabbed my pack. Reaching inside I pulled out the journal and recorded the memories before going back into the kitchen to salvage the food.
