Boarding School for the Mythical

"I did leave...I shouldn't have but I did..." I said softly.

Tabitha:

“But you’re back now.” I said quietly, watching him.

"I don't know if I will leave again. I'm impulsive on things like that. If it seems like good idea at the time I will just leave. I have always traveled, as I have never had a home." I said with a shrug looking into my lap.

Tabitha:

I made to scoot closer to him, but Shade blocked my way. He sighed deeply and hopped off to go trot into my bedroom. I went closer to Sphinx. “But you’re here now. Isn’t that what matters?”

"I suppose..." I said softly, my eyes still on my lap.

Tabitha:

“And you’re not going anywhere, for the moment right?” I tilted my head sideways so I could see his face.

I shook my head, her tilting her head made me look at her. I didn't know what to do or say right now.

Tabitha:

I smiled softly and got to my feet. I had an idea that might help us be a little less uncomfortable. I held my hand out to him swishing my skirt very slightly.

I blinked my eyes distracted by her skirt before I took her hand, getting to my feet.

Tabitha:

I pulled him over to the door and let go so I could pull my jacket on. “You like coffee don’t you?” I asked with a sweet smile while I tied my hair up in a ponytail.

"Yeah?" I asked confused as I blinked at her, not sure what she was going with this.

Tabitha:

“Well, there is this little coffee shop down the block. Its open all night.” I told him. “Do you want to go?”

"Sure." I said still confused. I didn't understand what she was going with this, but I wasn't going to argue or say no.

Tabitha:

I smiled. “Okay, let say goodbye to Shade really quick.” I hurried into my room and found my pet sleeping on my pillow. I kissed his head and told him I was leaving before going back to Sphinx. He hadn’t woken up even for a second.

I waited patiently for her, my own jacket already on as I held the door open for her. I still had no idea what we were going to do, but I didn't think it mattered.

Tabitha:

I smiled shyly and thanked him as I walked into the hall. I held my hand out to him again, my heart beating a little quicker.

My cheeks heated up but I took her hand, my fingers slipping between hers like they were meant to be there.

Tabitha:

It was amazing how happy it made me just to do a simple thing like hold his hand. I squeezed it very lightly as I lead him down to the coffee shop. I regretted wearing the dress when I realized how cold it had gotten out side. I was relieved to reach the coffee shop and let the warm air wrap around me.

I brought her closer to me as we stepped into the coffee shop, adding my warmth to that of the coffeeshops.

Tabitha:

My cheeks flushed and I tugged him gently over to the counter. “Hi Tabs!” She girl behind the counter waved to me then looked Sphinx over, her smile brightened. I half waved back at her before looking up at Sphinx myself. “What would you like?” I asked him.

"Erm, surprise me." I said my ears laid back out of habit. I still didn't show my ears and tails to people. Tabitha had broken me of the habit of thinking it was weird, she seemed to like them. But it still made me nervous when others saw.

Tabitha:

“Two of what I got last time then, please.” I told the girl and she rung us up. I took Sphinx over to a little circular room with a few tables. I slid into a booth, letting his hand go.

I sat across from her, a question going through my head. "Are you taking me on a date?"

Tabitha:

I put my elbows on the table and looked into his eyes. “What?” I asked, tilting my head to the side slightly at the look in his eyes.

"Is this a date?" I said again, giving her a shy smile.
